Fun for adults too thank you very much!

I realize that this game may have been aimed at kids, but it's quite fun for adults too, especially the puzzle lovers out there. I'm 27, and my boyfriend is 24--we both were addicted to the game until we each solved it. The puzzles range from easy to quite hard, and I was surprised by how many times I had to buy all the hints, and yet still couldn't figure it out! I just wanted to put this out there because it seems a lot of reviews out there are saying that the game is just for kids, and I say not so!

Awesome!!!

The puzzles range from easy to mind-bendingly difficult, but it blends two genres into a classic puzzler of its own. Worth checking out if you like anything from Brain Age to Zelda. And the graphics are excellent.

Challenging and fun

I ordered this for myself, but found my 7.5 year old son wanting to play too. We both love it! The puzzles are challenging and fun, and really make me think. My son has solved some of them on his own, but needs help with many of them, which is fine - - we figure them out together. I like the complexity of the game, and all the different things you are trying to figure out as you move your way through. I also find it more entertaining than Brain Age or others like it. This adds a different dimension, while still being a thought-provoking game. Definitely recommend.

OMG THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is by FAR my favorite game for Nintendo DS. I am a gamer and this was like my fifth favorite game EVER, thats really saying something. I think the cutscenes were my favorite part of the whole game. Each one was like a part of an animated movie, truly I had seen many great Japanese movies in exactly the cutscene's style! They are making two more games for this trilogy. The next is called Professor Layton And Pandora's Box and the last will be called Professor Layton and the Last Travel Through Time. All the cutscenes are fully voiced and have subtitles at the bottom. Each cutscene has something exciting going on. All the puzzles are fun to figure out, and it has an array of extras! Even if you can't solve a puzzle and give up you can find them in granny R's shack. The story is wonderful. The music is charming. MOST PUZZLES ARE MANDATORY! Would I recommend this to someone else? HECK YEAH! This is a charming, fun, and TOTALLY AMAZING game. Buy it today.

I love it!

Ignore the cartoonish graphics, this game is awesome! It's pretty much a bunch of puzzles that get you clues to solving larger puzzles. Have some scratch paper at your side, as it can come in handy at times.

If you like brain teasers and puzzles that encourage critical thinking, this is the game for you! I played those Brain Age things and was pretty disappointed. This definitely makes you think, but it still manages to be fun! And yes, I was one of those nerdy kids that liked school.

Love this game!

this is by far the best DS game my kids own. not only is it fun, it is challenging too. i even enjoy playing it! the logic puzzles really make the kids think outside the box. i would recommend this game for 8 and up. the kids need to be good readers to play.

Good game. The puzzles are challenging and interesting, and there are plenty of them. What is good is that the solutions are always within reach, and you get three hints - which you have to buy - but a lot of the puzzles you don't really need hints for if you think hard enough.

Almost exactly what I was looking for.

I am sorry to say that I am 43 and have my own DS lite that I love. I was looking for a game that had a quest but had puzzles involved. I am addicted to the "Mystery Case Files" games and was looking for a game for my DS that closely resembled the puzzle games you have to complete to open rooms on "Mystery Case Files." The puzzles in this game are not like that. They are more like the ones that they used to trick you with in school. Puzzles like four boxes made by matches--move two matches to make three boxes or which do you light first-lantern, fire, match--and stuff like that. Some are really really tough, and I had to use the cheats to complete them.

I do wish there was more of a story line. It seemed like all I did was puzzle after puzzle. I kept waiting for things to happen. A couple of things do happen but mostly (like I said) puzzle after puzzle.

Also, the ability to download a new puzzle every week is a bonus. All in all, I give this ***** (5 stars). Lots of play time for the $.

This was great. My first DS game and it has me hooked. Puzzles ranged from "easy" to "really difficult" to solve. Can't wait for more Professor Layton adventures.

I have all of the Brain games and thought I would try this game out as I'm a puzzle fanatic. This game is great, story holds your interest, puzzles are the bomb, graphics are out of sight and I have spent hours playing this game. Can't wait for the next one to come out this summer.
