If this game had been made by anyone else, i may have given it 3 stars, but I'v come to expect much more from Square-Enix. The game has a few interesting elements and the usual great SE cutscenes, but overall just failed to grab my attention and hold it.
Want a good RPG? go get Final Fantasy X (or any of them except 8 really), or Knights of the Old Republic or Disgaea:Hour of Darkness, or La Pucelle Tactics, or basically anything but this.

The game is great, what can I say? The only flaw I can see with it, is being lost if you hadn't played FFX. It's most definitely a true and fun sequel to one of the best games ever made. Great graphics, good voice acting and intriguing storyline, the elements that make FF games great are all here. Totally worth the money!
A FANTASTIC GAME

ive only logged 90 minutes of gameplay and i already have a great opinion of the game. first i really support square's idea of a sequel to a FF game. and FFX needed a fitting "end". thus the reasoning for FFX2. to say FFX2 is a sequel isnt fair to the brilliant story of FFX. this game features better graphics a faster battle system and a more unique way of leveling up (with the outfits) and the job system is good too. but i only see it as a big ending to FFX. believe me though this is not a negative review at all, i love the game, i love it for what its going to bring to future FF's too. and im looking forward to playing it over and over again. just like i did with FFX. Definitely a must buy game.
One of the Best FF Yet!

Well without getting to deep into the whole story line, this games main star is a young woman named Yuna who is now throwing away her restricted old ways of temples and helping people with tiny problems all the time for a life as a sphere hunter, were you have missions to hunt and find sphere wich can be used as dress spheres!(confused yet?)These special spheres give Yuna and her party members the ability to change outfits during battles with enemys so you do more damage to them. This game is still a big RPG and has its own flavor, wich is good because FF-X was soo depresing! This time around though you see old friends from the last game and even revisit places that have been rebuilt since in the last game they were disroyed! The story line and dialog are great as well! The games graphics are beutiful and lots of time whent into the 10 seconds it takes the girls to transform into new clothes, if you dont like RPG's I say rent it, but why waste money when you can just buy it in the first palce, I would love getting this for Christmas so take hint parents!
the storyline can feel a little nebulous and disjointed

FFX-2's free-form approach to game progression is novel, but it lacks the singular narrative thrust of FFX or other typical RPGs, and the storyline can feel a little nebulous and disjointed as a result. Consequently, you'll feel compelled to visit every area in every chapter in order to get a firm handle on the game's plot. Jody Bissoon

i hate this game its soooooo stupid. yuna is a pop singer! i mean what a loser! tidus is not even in this game. the story is wack. the gameplay is too. yuna is worse than britney spears at singin. i would rather play a football game than dis. so dont buy it. pleez dont. square enix is trazh!
its simply the best

I am kind of a newbe to this final fantasy in fact i only played the game because i won it in Ebay. bt when i got to the second chapter i was hooked like the world.
many things have changed in this game
1. it is a all girl party (yuna, rekku, pain)
2. a job system that lets u cange your caracters ou fit these 'jobs' are from: Mage-Pop singer
3.unfortuntly ther are no overkill or sphergrid (whitc is ok for some people!!)
4.you get to meet up some of th old cast i.e. Kemarie, lulu and wacka on your quest for Tidus
aso there are no sumons as u know when u finish FFX but spera uses Machenes
hope this helped
It stinks!

I've seen this game in action and wow i mean the graphics blew me away.I've beaten ffx and the ending had me in tears. And lulu and wakka haveing a baby i mean who would of known that. And finally you can play as a all female cast Yuna,Rikku and Pain.Pain actually takes over where lulu was and tidus with strength.
The music is all japenese POP but even if you dont like japenese pop you will now.
