Although whoever designed Gunner Yuna's new outfit needed a kick in the head. That half-skirt thing is mad ugly. Luckily you can change the outfits based on the class. It's a really envolved game with super high replay value! Now, Rikku and Paine always look COOL! Especially Rikku's new normal outfit, and her hair, definately looks good on her! I can't wait for the english version!

Just a few thoughts from someone who does not normally spend hours on the PS2. If you had seen my other review, for FFX, you might be wondering why I got this one. Well, it was cheap, I won't lie about it. You do not need to know about the storyline behind the game because obviously if you have seen all the other notes and reviews, I believe you probably get the idea of what the story is about. Not a bad story, but not a story that you have to be linear with. Something I appreciate. Still, the game has intrigued me for some time. There were the features like the "dress" which is actually a pretty nifty idea placed in the game world and the fact that with each "dress" comes a whole new array of skills and abilities that can be used on the battlefield. Dresses affect hit points, strength, weaknesses, and basic attitudes on the battlefield. Thus you have a broader ability to commence combat toward the beasties you meet along the way. Then there is the fact that there are more than one ending to this game. That's a good thing, you get the same basic endings in most games, so it is nice to diversify your chances by the route you take along the time spent gaming FFX-2. Another thing is, there is enough story to grip you, but not enough to make you so serious that you can't have a chuckle now and then. I mean really, seeing Yuna dancing on the battle field...am I not suppose to let out a smirk at that? Over all, I have to say that you should get the game, those of you who like rpgs on your PS2. It has a lot to offer and is relatively stress free (i.e. you dont get boggled down in such a way that you have a heart attack with each coming revelation as with FF7 and Silent Hill series).

First of all this game is pretty easy when compared to FF-X, but I like everything about it better. The graphics, music, personalities, and gameplay. Even if you didn't play X you will really enjoy X-2.
Characters - 9/10
Music - 8/10
Graphics - 10/10
Replay - 9/10
Overall - 10/10

This game was spectacular! Square-Enix came up with a few things that gave the game a fresh new look. The dresspheres for one. You get to turn into dresses that have abilitys to help you on your way. For example, a Alchemist can heal you while you other people get to fight. There is alot of dresspheres to collect. Especially the special dresspheres. There easy to get though.
Another thing is instead of waiting for you persons turn to attack, you could attack right away when your power thing goes up you can attack right away. So forget about the fiends keep attacking you and killing you, you can fight right away. (Unless you talk out the dresspheres that have strong attacks that might take a couple hits to kill the fiend, other then that you cool)
The graphics are about the same but they improved quite a bit. Not alot of FMVs but on the end there will be. They showed realistic motion into it. The characters when they talk might show like their talking a little off on the non-graphic parts but you get to read on the bottem what their saying.
Also, you get to go on missions to get spheres that might got recorded 1000 years ago! Yuna, Rikku, and Paine are sphere hunters of course. They're called the Gullwings. They might sound kind of girlish type and act like Charlies Angels or something like that but who cares. You can just skip the scene sometimes. Dont worry, you get to keep fighting and everything like that. Yuna decides to be a sphere hunter because she wants to find you know who...Tidus! Yes, you will be seeing him on the end. There is also you old friends there. Not old into age but you know. There is Lulu, Wakka, Kimhari, and you hear the voice of Auron.
If I would rate this 1 through 10, I would give it a 9! You can wait till the price goes down but I would rather you get it now. Make sure you get the strategy guide so you can beat the game. Make sure you beat the WHOLE thing so you can get perfect ending.
Good Luck!

If you loved FFX then you'll love FFX-2. It was worth the buy. I know people are saying that it mixes charlies angels and tomb raider but it shows Yuna changing, that she's not staying the same. The story line is great. I like that you see the old characters from Ten. Lulu having her baby was so adorable. I didn't like what they named him though. Trying to find Tidus brought my hopes up. The story of Lenne and Shuyen (misspelled) is a sad story as well. Some of the dress spears are a little revealing but they are so neat. Yuna sings in this RPG and both her songs are great. I shed my tears on the one about Lenne and Shuyen. And when you finally see Tidus, you have your closure. You finally know what happened. The parts I didn't like was that brother had a crush on Yuna. He's her cousin for goodness sake. Yuck! Also it's very difficult to get a 100% story line. The game was short as well. I also think this would have been a good movie like they did with the other FF spirits within.
Fun game, even better if I were a girl

I got this game as a Christmas present. I am not a big FF fan because they usually take too long and it's a little reminiscent of Dungeons and Dragons, which I was never a big fan of anyways. When I read the instruction manual I realized that this game would be better marketed for the female audience. Throughout the game you acquire special abilities only by changing dresses, with each dress change is this huge dramatic sequence like they're getting a makeover done on the Rikki Lake show. It is a fun game all in all but I think that this the closest thing you'll get to Barbi meets Dungeons and Dragons.
Wonderful game

I have played this game for about 9 hours now. The nudity everyone seems to mention is not nudity!! You never see more of the girls than what a bikini would cover! The combat system is a little harder to get used to due to the fact it is alittle faster than previous games and you have to know which dresssphere (the game makes it one word) does what. The game does not tie you down into having to go from point a to b to c you basically can do what ever you want and at all times you can see what % of the game you have completed. The graphics are wonderful and (in the English version) the voice overs aren't as bad as FFX. You still go around and look for Al Bhed primers so that you can understand what a few of the charaters are saying, but (as of 15% of the way into the game) it's not that big of a deal. You see alot of the prevoius characters and a whole bunch of new ones.
Can Never Stop Playing!!! (really)

This game is great! It has almost the same great graphics, a few improvements were added in though. In which makes it so much better! It also has a really great plot, and slightly different grid though. And unlike Final Fantasy X you can equip your characters with status improving items. All & all it is a super great game. YOU MUST BUY!!! (really)

Final Fantasy X-2 continues the story of Final Fantasy X very well. The story picks up to years after Sin's destruction and Tidus's return to his time. Yuna has joined the Sphere-hunters with Rikku and the newcoming warrior named Paine. The three travel across Spira in search of answers to a question of great importance to Yuna. The graphics are, again, beautiful, astounding, magestic, and captivating. The cutscenes are incredibly realistic. Your party is made of only these three gals (in contrast to the seven members from FFX) but a newly introduced form of battling balance things out. Basically, they have what's called dress-spheres which allow you to switch a character's role (i.e. from warrior to gunner) to fit the situation. The battle system is also a new thing for all RPGs. I'll tell you one thing, it will definetly not put you to sleep (a major problem with RPGs). What it is, in addition to the dress-spheres, there are no turns. It's bam-bam-bam, you've got to stay on your toes. While before you could take your sweet time taking out an item to heal yourself or a teammember, now if you do that a monster will be gutting one of your teammembers. It really keeps you on your toes. The sound and voices are similar to FFX in terms of quality (which is very good). The music is light & hip and fun to listen to. Overall, Final Fantasy X-2 is a very well-done game just like the title it originated from, FFX. It's very good.
One of the BEST sequels for a game out there

Since I bought Final Fantasy X-2 I knew it would be a mixed bag. The reason is because it's the first true/direct sequel to a Final Fantasy ever made (although you already knew that) and the thing is that there is so many paths the story could have taken, that it either meets your expectations or it doesn't.
With that being said, it's one of the most beautiful games you could play on your PS2 right now, with top of the line graphics and a really intuitive gameplay experience. The presentation is really good, using only 3 characters from beginning to end, and collecting Dresspheres: special items that allow the user to obtain different abbilities and strenghts, like for instance the White Mage dressphere will allow the user to cast white magic while the Black Wizard dressphere will allow you to cast offensive black magic like fire and thunder.Other pros of the game include REALLY GOOD voice acting, with over double the size of voiced speech found in the first game (a full 1 1/2 hour), multiple endings, an open-game design (go anywhere at any time) and lots of replay value with the New Game Plus feature that lets you go back into the game a second time with all the items and dresspheres you had from the first time around.
The only cons in this game would be the lack of gorgeous CG sequences (which are really a treat when you talk square-enix) and the plot itself which leaves yet a lot more open questions this time.
You don't need to play the first one to know the storyline here, but it helps tho. And if you really want to experience a really good (if not the best), rewarding RPG of 2003 then go for FFX-2
