This game is hot! The graphics are off the chain and the fighting is crazy. You can actually control wall walking. Its awesome. The characters from the game are made to look exactly like the charcaters from the movie and the fighting is exactly like in the movie and the stunts are incredible. You can shoot will doin flips and you fly through the air while attacking one of the bad guys. Its the greatest!

I have yet to play this using Niobe, but I was impressed with the storyline, and what we learn about Ghost's inner thoughts and beliefs given that we only see him briefly in "Matrix Reloaded."
The first half of the game is rather lackluster with too many short levels, but I thought the game picked up at the halfway point, when Ghost is running through the mansion level with the many zombie-like characters.
I do have the same beefs as other here -- the graphics are subpar, and the cut scenes can be pure cheese, but again, the two scenes in which (DON'T READ ON, UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEARN ONE OF GHOST'S SECRETS) Ghost and the Oracle and separately with Persephone talk about his hidden feelings for Niobe, and the sad reality that nothing will happen between them, and he knows it. While he is the stereotypical Zen Buddhist, spiritual Asian/Asian-American, at least the story shows he does feel love for someone, and he even kisses Persephone. Most often, Asian/Asian-American are emasculated and rendered so spiritual as to be celibate and without sexual/romantic feelings. So overall I'm pleased that the video game's makers decided to make Ghost and Niobe the main characters, providing a cool/slick/handsome Asian/Asian-American male character as a lead. So the game gets only a 3 star, but the decision to make Ghost (Anthony Wong) the lead gets 4 stars.
Great Matrix Experience that Needed a Test Run

If you are a Matrix fan this is definately your game. The moves are slick and the integration of the movies into the gameplay is awesome.
There are a few problems. Mainly the lighting design is awful. Some areas are so dark you'll have to die, and replay them over and over again to get it right. The lighting also makes certain fights (The Agent On Board level for instance) harder for no good reason, because its hard to see what and your fighting and were you are going.
I've also noticed that the gameplay is too easy in certain spots. I think the fights are too unevenly matched and the focus moves make kicking ass almost a second thought.
I think the game controls for PS2 are better than some of the reviews I've read. Doesn't feel nearly as loose or sloppy as the controls on PS2's Max Payne. I have not noted any lock up problems yet and I am fairly far into it.
I'd still say its worth [$] bucks. If there's a second I'd like a networked multiplayer option, way better lighting, and maybe some more evenly matched gameplay.
Not what i hoped for

When i got Enter the Matrix, all my friends said it was awesome, and everything. I was interested in it. I felt it was a mixture of Mortal Kombat and Max Payne, 2 great games. But then the problem was...I beat it in 3 days!
Normally when i get a game, i prefer not beating it in 3 days. But i did beat it in 3 days. 3 days worth of kun-fu/gun slinging is not worth my $50. Although i did not beat it in the harder modes, I didn't find it necessary. I already know what's going to happen, so beating it in the harder modes is obselete.
I thought in the three days that I was playing it, it was entertaining, the mixture of kun-fu and karate. The graphics were good, but not what i hoped for.
In general, the game was good, but could have had many improvements.
The game that is full of hype

This game is a pritty cool game. Yeah yeah you can do slo motion and run on walls but you cannot be neo or anyone like him. You get about 20 different guns throughout the hole game. Also, you can play as two different characters Ghost or Niobe. Ghost is my favorite because he has the best guns while Niobe is the best at fighting. the game has weird controals but once you get usted to them you are good to go. Finally, you can kill civilians which makes it all worth while for me.
Excellent Game!!! (Warning minor bugs)

Once you get past the bugs this game can be an excellent example of what true action/adventure gaming should be. Bugs seem to occur when loading certain levels on normal or difficult levels. Including the bug where the level dosen't even load and it goes black screen! However, I have to state that these bugs aren't as horrid as they sound, especially since playing this game on hard is a lot like trying to fly with cement wings. If you are crazy to want that, then you probably deserve the black screen.
Now that I've gotten past the ugly, the good is that this game simulates the world of the Matrix to the max. I have become so addicted to the focus effect that I find it hard playing my other action games without this wicked ability.
The story is definitely up there with the rest of the Matrix films, including the same superb quality of twists that Reloaded had. It will leave you wanting to see Revolutions more than ever, and even hints at future secrets that Reloaded never even touched. I like that the Agents are almost impossible to beat, and fighting Smith is indeed the highlight of the game.If you can unlock the level, hint, hint.) The vehicular levels are a pain, pestered with poor controls. When playing as Niobe vehicle stages are difficult, but as Ghost it is great since all you have to do is shoot. I recommend playing the game with Niobe first then Ghost due to the vehicular last stage.
Overall this is a must buy, when else can the Watchowski bros hire the real actors to film extra footage for a game. Even if a sequel to the game would be better gameplay wise, they'll probably have difficulty hiring the real actors again. And we may end up with half baked acting like in the Star Wars gaming line. It should be in every action gamer's library.
PS- The focus ability actually has strategic value in this game unlike Max Payne!
This should be a definite PS2 "Greatest Hit"

Enter the Matrix was one of the coolest games I've ever played because there are loads of different fighting moves you can do, like running up walls, jump-forward shooting, normal hand to hand combat and much much more, the graphics are great, the stages are surprisingly large for the good graphics given, and the Story line is very exciting. The best part is, for you Matrix fans, if you've watched Animatrix, you can see what happened to the people on the Osiris! When they gave the disk back to Zion! Buy this Game TODAY!

When I first bought Enter the Matrix I was hooked. Hears why. Imagine being surrounded by four guards, and they are closing in. In most games you'd be screwed in a position like this, but not in Enter the Matrix. One guard comes in to grab you but with a front kick and an upper cut you easily take him out. Two other guards charge in, but you take down one with a flurry of punches, and you grab the other guard and throw him into a wall, knocking him out. The last guard runs in quickly and try's to kick you but you run up the adjacent wall land behind him a crack his Neck with one stroke. Oh yeha and you did all this with only using three buttons. Now do you see why I am hooked? But sadly there is a bad part. First off the graphics Suck. They're not as bad as an N64 game but they come close at times. Second off there is a friggin save screen about every two minutes, if you are lucky maybe five minutes. Last off the game does not have the best replay value; sure the fighting kicks ass, and it is addicting, but the story is farley boring, and you may not want to sit through it again. One other thing I'm wondering about is why are there so many guns. There are four different types of pistols yet they all do the same thing. But in a happier note, Enter the Matrix is a good game, being able to play as two Characters (Niobe, Ghost) is cool and the driving parts our ok but you may want to rent this game first. The game is very addicting for the first couple of days but after that it will become an average game in your gaming library.
