This game has the right to tell games like Halo 2 to get out of the way.

Graphics engine, gameplay, AI will be the best from the day of release and probably months after even halo2 is released. Seeing all the screenshots, in game videos puts shivers all over my body in anticipation for this game.

If you think you cant play it because of the stress of the graphics then its time to spend the money to upgrade. Because if u cant play this game well ur out of the loop until u can. Ths is also suppose to be MOD-friendly as they designed the source to be as easy as possible to use so u can expect better mods then counter-strike to be out for HL.

Your not paying for only 1 game here, this is a investment in a potental unlimited amount of games.

Simply the best.

For those that have Half-Life 1 they know that it will be 100 times better due to their new 'source' engine, the one that gives it it's realistic properties.

Those that haven't the slightest clue what Half-Life is but like First Person Shooters, where have you been for the past 5 years? If you want to play for the plot, I recommend you also buy Half-Life 1 with this and play it in order. If you just want it for the graphics, gore (which can be turned off), etc, well, buy it!

This game will simply be the best one for many many years to come and it is a must buy!

Halo 2 dethroned and release date late.

I took a trip to E3 this year and saw it. The best game there. The way it looks so far its going to write a new legacy for Half-Life and next-gen games. Halo 2's release date was delayed so they could add some last minute extra's but Sierra has been on this little project since 1999 when Half-Life Game of the Year edition came out. 4 years and a good base game is an excellent start. Remember the Metal Gear Legacy? So why are they delaying the release date? Not to mention I was dumb and reserved my copy with Gamestop which comes out 2 months later than Amazon. It looked better than excellent at E3 so whats the problem? Hopefully their going to throw in some suprize thats going to be marveled at for years. I highly reccommend this game to even Halo fans.

P.S.Get a good computer JUST for this game

OMG Half-life changed gaming forever and the mods and skins you
got to pick were so awesome ^_^ but if half-life did that Half-life2 is sure to knock the socks right off your feet i can
almost asure you that half-life2 is going to be the best new fps around seeing as how much half-life rocked i cant wait for this one ive been waiting forever for this to come out so what who cares if you need a fast pc its worth it for the Ultimate computer game if you already have the half-life collection then this is The thing to put at the top of your list its gonna rock!

this game is simply the best game to be, i cant wait for it to come out, the graphics are stunning and the a.i. seems to be interacting with you in different ways every time tricking you etc. i just thing this game is gonna be the best game of the next 5 years or so. Stunning!!!

Half-Life 2, The Other Half?

I think that anyone saying that Half-Life 2 is Half-Life 1 with a different name either is blind, stupid, or works for a different video game company. This game is going to be breakthrough, and will be able to rival well established giants such as Doom III and Max Payne 2. (for Max Payne 2 I would replace with Duke Nukem Forever, but it's never coming out.) The gameplay of the first game was nothing short of breathtaking, and the storyline gave the First Person Shooter it's intelligence back. And with a new graphics engine, you know that this gae is going to rock.

I was never a big fan of the past half-life but played it to pass the time. The new Half-life 2 is amazing. From what I've seen in previews and sneek peeks, it's finally passing up the other games with DOOM III as it's only real competition for now. It's being advertised with a release date of Dec, but I've read it will be released as early as Sept, 03. The scale of this game is amazing too. Huge creatures, excellent 3D environments, etc etc etc. Lets hope it's clipping and gameplay match the visuals and hype.

If you have any sence in you, and have the money, you will purchase Half-Life 2 for the PC immidietly. Though the game took nearly seven years to create, and the system specs are really up their, it is worth the money. I should warn you, you are getting 3 games on one cd, a HINT BOOKLET!!. Not the guide. A large, really black t-shirt, with the Half-Life 2 logo on it, and a subscription to Steam. Valve's program where you can buy and download games from Valve themselves. Oh yeah, Vale is the developer of the game. I mentioned earlier that three games where on one cd. They are Half-Life 2, Half-Life 1, and the newest version of Counter Strike. The fun version of Army Ops. Now, since Half-Life 2 has refrences from Half-Life 1, you might want to play the first. Half-Life 1 you get in this package is a remake of Valve's very first title. And yet, the graphics are very simplistic. The game is fun and definatley worth playing. Half-Life 2 is obviously the best choice to play the game, but the system specs are high, and if you don't reach them, expect long and lots of loading times. Counter Strike is the first army based online game. And the one you get on this disc is the updated on built on the Half-Life 2 source code. I mentioned that Steam is a program you also get on this disc, and you can download and purchase games from Valve, like Half-Life 2 deathmatch. Think Counter Strike, with aliens, and in the Half-Life 2 world. You also get a side scroller game on this disc that you have to download called Codename, Gordon. It is basically Metal Slug 3 from the Neo Geo back in the early 1990's. Oh, Gordon Freeman is the main character in this game. Now, if you are buying this collector's edition by yourself, you deserve it, and if you are buying it for a present to give to somebody, not even the hardcroe gamer, all you will get back is a lot of thank you's from that person. Though if they don't reach the system spec, you will get a lot of negative feedback, so talk to them before buying. I will highly recommend this for anybody, but 3 games are on one cd, and hint booklet, and a t-shirt, don't be expecting a lot, but you get so much. I give the game a 5 out of 5, and the package a total score of a 4 out of 5.

Gordon Freeman/ Scintist with a crowbar est de retour. mad science has once again run-a-muck and gordon and his friends are all that reamains to save the earth from bush and his evil plans for american gloabl economic hegomony. will he prove worthy to th lofty task or will sadam escape the american financed chi'ite assination attempt only to sell more oil in €uro dollars? no1 knows as of yet but the only way to be sure is to buy this mind numbing game and smash some mutants with your virtual crowbar on your hotrod GForce 1.000.000.000 PC ! I ve played better games in the past, but this is the present and graphics have never been push to such a plateau (Ô sorry this game is almost a yr old) gg's!

Don't listen to any one who complains ! This game is awesome .Great Game play,Great graphics. People who still on dial up should keep sending complains cose that connection from long time ago yesterday .Nice steam service from Valve makes it play and upgrade much easier.If u want to enjoy all Half-Life 2 goods just make sure u not using dial up and your PC is up to date.
