If I could rate this game a 0 Star I would, or maybe even some negative stars. Halflife 2 will not have the same physics as Halflife, it's supposed to be more realistic or something or other. MORE REALISTIC?! I'm sorry, but I want my gliding, strafe jumping, bunnyhopping and ramp sliding that is included in the most popular Halflife mod, which is TFC. If Valve ends up making a TF2 it will end up using the same physics engine as HL2. Which means that TF2 will be a cross between TFC and Cr4postrike. I'm sorry, but I don't want it to be at all like CS, can we say "headsh[]t." Valve, give me TFC physics with upgraded graphics and features and I will praise your company.
A realistic game does NOT mean it will be fun or enjoyable. In fact I can almost gaurantee that it won't be fun/enjoyable, just take a look at Counterh4ck(CS for you not so bright). It's supposed to be 'realistic', when really it isn't at all, but is the closest thing that can come to realistic in Halflife. And it's absolutely horrifyingly terrible. When I play it, I just want to crawl up and grab a pacifier because it's so bad.
Now theres the issue of steam. Steam is not going to work it never will! We all know what happened when Valve was going to release it, it got leaked out before the release and was INCREDIBLY buggy, crashed and was just all around the worse thing ever. Quit wasting your time on it Valve, it will never work. Which brings me to another point. How about you make some updates and fixes for TFC, don't waste time on a mediocre mod like CS. We all now TFC takes far more skill and learning than CS.
All in all, this will be the most overhyped and worst game to date.

The review score of this game proves that you CAN NOT trust amazon reviewers. An average of 3??? Are you kidding me? You can't actually be serious. There is no way this game is mediocre and its not just me who believes this game is a great game. Go to any gaming website and this game would not get below an 80%. Most of the time its 90 and above. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

Half Life 1 was probably my all time favorite game. This comes a little farther down the line, but still a great game and tons of fun!
Great Game

If you have a broadband connection, you should have no trouble installing and enjoying this game.
I have dial-up. I really don't even use the internet - I access my email at work using Outlook, which takes ten minutes. So when I buy a game that says "requires internet connection" I think it just means I need that connection to register.
No, you actually need to be connected to Valve to even INSTALL the game. That's nice and high-tech. It also sucks. I've been trying for four hours to install this game. I've been in the forums, I've been on the chat rooms. I really wish I would have read the Amazon site first - the caveats are all here, and they're all very honest.
If I can't get this work, I know I can't get my money back, and no I won't sue Valve. But I will never ever buy another game that needs the Steam platform to run. That's because... well, I can't get it work.
If you're interested, my computer is three months old, has an AMD Athlon X2 5600+ dual core processor, 3 GB RAM, and runs Vista. And no, it's not worth buying a broadband modem and paying $35/month for high-speed internet just to play a $19.99 game, no matter how many awards its won.
The game is good but I wouldn't buy it again...

...I bought it sometime ago and was annoyed to find I needed an internet connection to install it...while I finally got it back out I went through the "Steam" nonsense but found I still needed to enter the registration code which is on the pamphlet but NOT on the box and NOT on the CD...well, the pamphlet had managed to escape the box and, after spending an hour looking for it, I gave up...so I took a simpler route and went online to a "warez" site and downloaded a steam-free, code installation-free hacked copy which worked fine...I must say the the game is pretty decent -- better than "Quake" but not as good as "Far Cry"...regardless, I'm not paying money for another "steam" game.

That's right. Less than a month to go.
The doubters have been owned.
Look for a sea of 5 star ratings.

0 of 29 helpful? What is wrong with you people? It's a 3 because I'm commenting on an unreleased item. When it's released, there's no doubt that I'd give a 6 if I could.
Very close...almost too good to be true.

Right off the bat I've never, EVER, heard of this game at all! What's up with that? After playing the original, which is great(back in 98), I was so ready to get that sequal. Who can deny the chaos that's going to come when it comes out?! I'm not sure if it will suceed over the original but who knows? I'll tell you... only Valve knows these answers and their keeping it as a suprise. I HATE SUPRISES!!! Oh sure they've gave out hints and treats but that isn't enough for an enthusiest like me! So... if anyone knows, TRUELY knows, when this game is coming please tell me! I've got to know if it will work on my computer.

Half life copied doom 1's story by opening a portal, and now half life 2 copies doom 2's story by returning to earth. Go figure why I'm readin the opposite at the review for doom3???
This will blow our minds
