THE BEST STAR TREK GAME YET!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

This game is incredible. Many people say that the loading time for this game is unbearable, but for me, I think of it as a way to recover from a massive battle with The Borg, or Hirogens, or whatever alien race you encounter in the game.

The game begins with you as Ensign Munro, a cocky, second in command, officer who just wants to get into a battle. You start on a borg cube trying to rescue your team mates and recover "The Infinity Modulator." When you blow up the main cumputer console the cube blows up too with all your team mates on it. Then, you find yourself in the Voyager holodeck alive getting your butt chewed out by by Tuvok. Voyager is then attacked by a strange ship and transported to a ship graveyard with most of the main systems damaged and a dampening field keeping the systems down. The rest of the game is just trying to free the ship from the field and return on your journey home, with lots of fun stuff in between.

The things you can do on this game are astounding as well. Weapons range from your own phaser to a robotic arc welding machine. The levels are vast with many aliens on board including The Borg, Species 8472, to Klingons, to even Hirogens. In betwwen missions you can explore Voyager by going to the holodeck, the mess hall, and even to your own room.

There is a special treat added in. The Elite Force holomatch which allows you to set up a match between you and some other opponents and just blast away at them. That is one of my favorite parts of the game.

My bottom line is: A fun filled EPISODE full of suprises around every corner. People who love Star Trek and people who don't will love this game, I guarantee it.

Excellent

This is one of the few Star Trek games that really kicks butt. Ironically, its based on one of the less popular Star Trek series. You can add the expansion pack also so you can hear the few lines of dialogue Seven of Nine has as well as fix some bugs. Fighting the Borg is a creepy experience and the graphics are beautiful. Definately worth it until Elite Force II is available.

Well kind of... if u played JK2 be4 this... wish I have. Its fun. I lept into it. Its almost easy... but the Borg are hard to kill with their shields (I use god... don't contraadict me!!) this game is awesome!

Excellent game - But be wary of the high requirements

This is truly one the best Star Trek games ever made. Graphics, sound, and realistic gameplay are what make this game well worth every penny. However, I suggest that you carefully consider the requirements for running this game. Having the minimum requirements just doesn't do the game justice. You really need at least double the minimum requirements to enjoy this game fully.

Surprisingly satisfying

Given the history of previous games based on the Star Trek license, I didn't have high hopes for this game. That's why I was really blown away when I finally played it.

While it's not quite the ultimate FPS that UT or Q3 are, it takes the best elements of these games and combines them with the best element of Half-Life- the story.

The Elite Force story, while not entirely original, is quite rich as well-told. Like in Half-Life, your character plays a pivitol role in the story and actually experiences a true character arc (unlike Gordon Freeman, IMO).

Two criticisms- First, I found the physics to be a little jerky. Not quite as smooth as Q3, which is strange considering this game uses that engine. Second, the game play was just a little too easy- the creatures weren't all that challenging. Even the bosses. Oh, and one more thing- the AI of your teammates was pretty sad. They kept running in front of my line of fire and then yelling at me when I shot them.

This game is the first one since Half-Life that, like a good book, I could not pull myself away from. And like a REALLY good book, it's worth playing a second time through.

This game is pretty good. The graphics almost look like the real Voyager. It has some interesting missions to go on.

A game to blow your brains out!

This is a cool and realistic game called Star Trek Elite Force. It is about the U.S.S. Voyager fighting an alien starship. When they destroy the alien ship it transports Voyager 70,000 light years across the galaxy to the delta quadrant. The player in an attempt to return home transports to alien ships and outposts and uses weapons such as the phaser, compression rifle, imod, and scavenger rifle. Some of the technology you use are the tricorder, and the hypospray that heals people. I recommend this game because it has high resolution, realistic graphics, high difficulty for people who want challenging games, and is exciting.

Fun for Adults - Great For Kids

Having loved the series Voyager I was expecting something different from this game. Now that the series is over I can still enjoy it in this simulation game.

The graphics are great and the special sound effects and visuals are stunning. Still the people look a little mechanical (unreal), but the PIXAR technology is still a few years away to be put in out homes as of yet.

The action is believable, the training is semi real and the charcaters are interactive. Seeing the ship is very cool as well. The younger people seem to like the color and interactivity of it.

This is a good game to have!

unlike most of you reading this i am not that much of a star trek fan. however i still thought that this was a great game definetly worth the money. in my opinion its the most fun first person shooter you can find, except maybe the expansion or the second one, i haven't played those yet. but anyway, it does have an average "don't let the aliens take over" kind of plot but that doesn't really matter. the multiplayer alone is worth the money. if your into fast paced super fun action then you really should pick this one up. it's a keeper.

Nice ...

A good QIII based game... you are able to use phaser weapons and have the star trek actors talk to you... you also are able to save voyager may times over. its a great game and deserves more acclaim than it got.
