I have been waiting for this game to come out for the last couple of months. I have read the reviews on various sites, including this one, about how impressed various people have been with both the demo and the final release version.
I received my copy two days ago and I can't believe this is the game I waited so long for! It is terrible! The missions are WAY too easy and the maps are very lame! The 'great voices' and 'stunning graphics' I have read about sure didn't leave that impression on me! The voices were awful for the most part. The graphics were no better than half-life, which came out two years ago! I have twice the system requirements listed on the box and I still experieced lock ups and jittery graphics. This game is very buggy, which is inexcuseable for a major software company like Activision to release.
The 'great story line' I have read about is laughable. There are so many things in this game that left me wondering how many 8 year olds it took to write the story line I lost count. There are mistakes and improbable circumstances galore - even for a Star Trek setting.
Don't buy this game. If you want a decent first person shooter with a good storyline get Half-Life. If you want a first person game with good graphics get Soldier of Fortune. This is nothing more than a waste of your money and time.

I have the original version of Elite Force, and let's just say that it IS the absolute best Star Trek game ever made. Hours and hours of fun, especially in Holomatch. I'm addicted; even went so far as to order high speed internet to enjoy it even more. Will Star Trek's influence ever end? I hope not!

As a relative computer game novice and fan of Voyager, I thought this would be fun.I haven't been disappointed. As many have stated, the effects are great. I find being able to move around Voyager and interact with the regular crew especially cool. If you're not an experienced gamer, the missions are hard enough to keep your interest, but not so hard that you get stuck immediately. Highly recommended.
I hope to God this is Windows 2000 Compatible

I have lost many days playing the First game- (Which was Windows 2000 compatible). I don't see it listed as a supported OS in the description. Have any of you heard any different?

If you're a First Person Shooter kinda person, this game is okay. Makes use of the Quake engine, so that's a big pro, but there is no real hook unless you're a Star Trek fan. Non-trekkers will get bored after awhile, and the skill level of the online players is less then those of Quake, Counter-Strike, and Day of Defeat.
you got to get this!!!!

If you've ever secrety wished that you could land a part on a
'Star Trek Voyager' TV Show, this could do the trick. I really like 1st person shooter RPGs with some believable adventure and good story lines. Deus Ex, NOLF, Max Payne Etc. To be truthful though, until I tried the DEMO for Elite Force I wasn't expecting much. I hadn't heard or read any good buzz on the Star Trek 'Games'. After playing it though I was thoroughly impressed. On the plus side are, great graphics, tight story, loads of action and I felt as if I was right in the game. I can't wait to get my hands on the Xpack. On the down side though: I thought that the game was a little on the short side. A few more levels would have been nice or maybe if they would have let the imaginations of the story and art work guys loose a while longer for us 'Earthlings' who just love getting to "Hang" with our Federation 'Homies' for a few hours each week in the safety of a Federation Starship. I hope Activision keeps on working on STEF, I'm hooked.
