Dante fan - This is tied with the first, if not better!

DMC 3 is teeming with visual splendor, like the previous two installments. Game play is leaps ahead from the others, with so many moves/weapons to learn. I had to laugh when the demon woman reduced herself to a guitar for Dante when he defeated her. Let's just say Dante can rock and roll with the right chords! Love this game. I totally recommend it!

One of the best cliches

I agree with almost every review here; fantastic ways to show off Dante's fighting abilities to the enemy and bizarre yet interesting story line. Yes it may be another cheezy action game but it is very well made.
And about the difficulty being on a very highscale...... the game is actually made to start from very small levels. I suggest you start at the easy level considering not only your skills, but Dante's skills accumulate through every battle you will fight. Just buy the game to see what I mean. Out of your entire collection of cheesy action games this will not dissapoint you.

My first time playing this game I found it challenging because of my lack of weapons, items, skills, and devil trigger. At the end of the 7th level you fight Dante's evil twin brother Vergil, this fight will keep you on your feet, for me it took 1 large vital star and 1 small vital star .This fight will be worth it you get devil powers after you beat him.Well thats as much as i'll tell you I hope this game will be as fun for you as it was for me.

Ninja Gaiden for the PS2

....not exactly, but as stated before, this is a game for gamers that want a challenge. Much like Ninja Gaiden, this is one tough game - not a bad thing though. How many times have you bought a game, beat it in a couple of days and then wondered why you spent $50 on the game? That's not going to happen here. Devil May Cry 3 is extremely challenging and does the original credit.
The graphics are among the best ever for the aging PS2, the sound and music fit the theme of game perfectly, and the game has a very high replay factor. As its been stated elsewhere, it does you credit to play the defensive Trickster mode the first play through, then move on the the more stylish Gunslinger and Swordmaster modes once you figure out what's going on. What can I say, its finally good to get an excellent game that is exclusive to the PS2. Now, where's Final Fantasy 12?
