This is one of the best FPS games I have played. I just recently completed Red Faction and Max Payne, but I find that Wolfenstein is superior to both. Be warned that this is not an easy game. Some of the levels require considerable strategy and not just a quick trigger finger and excellent aim. The AI seems to be pretty good. I have had enemies toss grenades back at me and dodge my sniper rifle. They also tend to hide and surprise you. Sometimes they can be quite aggravating and difficult to eliminate.
I would like to have a function key assigned for save and load operations. As it is, you have to escape to the menu screen and save or load from there. There is a qucksave/quickload function key that is quite useful. Otherwise, I have no complaints. I am about half-way through the game and I hate to see it end. I hope there will be additional missions released before too long.
I have not experienced any problems running the game. I am running Windows Me on a 1.4 Ghz Pentium with a 32 Mb Nvidia video card. I have not had a single lock up during the time I have been playing Wolfenstein. Although this is a fairly fast system, I have had lock-up problems with other games, so having a new, fast system doesn't always mean perfect operation. Wolfenstein, fortunately, has not caused any problems.

Pros: Stunning graphics; interesting single-player missions; fun multiplayer.
Cons: Apparently only the Allies could afford lightbulbs; single-player lacks the cathartic "kill 'em all" flavor of the original; way too much sneaking around needed; "smart" enemies aren't; mouse-keyboard control system takes a lot of getting used to; maybe a little too realistic.

If you have a very good system, this is a very good game. The graphics and gameplay are truly amazing. It is a very good game however, its on the short side, it took me 8 and 1/2 hours to beat it, and I am not the best gamer in the world here. The difficulty levels dont really change much. And for me there is a little to much running around in the dark killing monsters and zombies. Don't get me wrong, its a very good game, worth the buy, just dont expect to be as good as sliced bread.

The graphics are nice, very smooth (with my graphics card anyway, can't say for yours) and the single-player levels are innovative. Compared to some of the older FPSs out there like quake and unreal the levels are interesting and fun. About on par with half life or HALO. Multiplayer beats the older generation of games, but is about on par with some of the shareware half-life mods. I've noticed that most of the people that really rave about it don't play many of the newer games, though your results may vary. As far as I can see, nothing new here.

I bought this game primarily for the multiplayer action, and they really didn't reinvent the wheel. Similar to any game with "Classes", like Half Life mods Day of Deafeat and Team Fortress. Although the game is visually stunning, the grapics don't make the game play any better.

From what I have played I love the game but it crashes constantly, even on the "stable" Windows XP. For what I paid for it it should work right out of the box and not need a patch. Wait a month, a patch will probably be out and it'll probably be cheaper too.

Don't get me wrong... I really liked this game in single player mode. It ran fine on my 650 PIII and 32 Meg TNT2 video card.
I am a multiplayer gamer and this game has one major short coming... There is no Death Match mode. The multiplayer mode ran well and was fun when playing with a team. What happens when you want some down and dirty death match play? Nothing because it isn't available... I found the three different team multiplayer modes got tiring after a few hours. I have had hours of fun from games like Delta Force Land Warrior and Star Trek Elite Forces playing Death Match. It's hard to believe they could release a game without Death Match.
I am rating this game solely on its multiplayer mode.

(the following review is for the single player return to castle wolfenstein.)
my 3-star rating is given in comparison to half-life, which kept me amazed with both its plot line and variety of weapons from start to finish. maybe i was spoiled by this but, so far (three levels in), this is a pretty forgettable game. granted i haven't gotten all the weapons but....
complaints so far.
where's the shotgun? (i don't read the weapons desciptions, (so's to keep them all a surprise) but the shotgun should always be one of the first weapons offered, for close-quarters combat.) why did they bother making both the 9mm auto, the thompson .45 auto AND the sten gun? they're all just variations on a similar theme.
the secret rooms and treasure items are a blatant throwback to doom and quake - same clues, same idea. yeay, a secret room.
and the plotline, well how many times has the nazi/sci-fi theme been done? cute how they get certain ideas from the raiders of the lost ark film series, but it's been done.
in short, the only real innovation with this new FPS (so far)'s the flame effects (which really are quite cool). maybe i'm just getting bored with the whole FPS genre but, regardless of minor innovations, half-life remains the undefeated champion.
i'd welcome any recommendations for different game titles (of different genres - maybe an aircraft-type motif?) from any half-life fans. time to try something new.
