RTCW(Return To Castle Wolfenstine) is one the the best fps(first person shooters) for the P.C.. It is the sequal to the first FPS of all time(and the best). I played Wolfenstine 3-D a lot and so what do you thjink i did the day RTCW came out? yeah. This game does not capture that same feeling that the original did. The SIngle player game is good even though you never hear the main guys voice but the multiplayer verision is the reason to get this. RTCW has hardly any similarities to wolf 3-d and it seems more like half life than wolf 3-d did. however this is still good. Id rather however have more weapon choice. If you own Wolf 3-D, Hal-Life or Red Faction that this will just be another soso game. However if you dont have any of those and want to try something new then get this game. (the multiplayer game is EXELENT)

Superb FPS

I, too, have only played the demo, but it is a great game. The character classes are a great touch to realistic team-building in this game. Medics and LT's and soldiers (with Mausers...) make it great fun. As for the critique that it's just a mod for Quake, I can't disagree more. The damage is much more realistic, and the classes are too unique to just be a mod. My brother works with id in development, and trust me when I say the single player action is due to be another smash for id and for us!

this game truely is the best game ever! i heard about Wolfenstein from one of friends. so i downloaded the multiplayer test and WOW! the graphics are amazing! the weapons are awsome and the game play is spectacular! so when Return to Castle Wolfenstein finally came out a couple days ago i went off and bought it right away. it is amazing! you can pretty much do anything in single player. the maps are sooo huge. the enemy AI in awsome too (much like No One Lives Forever and HALO) this game is very fun. i mean whats better than killing nazis and the un-dead? i highly suggest buying or atleast renting this game. you wont be dissappointed.

RTCW - Can't wait for the retail version

I have been literally hooked on the multiplayer test version. Although this test version only runs a single scenario (beach assault) I find myself hitting the pillow well after midnight. I have been a Wolfenstein gamer since the very first FPS game from Apogee. The utilization of the Q3 engine with this game makes similar games pale in comparison. I am extremely anxious for the Nov. 6 release. I WANT MY WOLF-EN-STEIN!!!

Looks great

I played this game and I think the true classic shoot-em-up
arcade feeling is once again in a newly released game with
actual fun playability! My old favorite games were Wolf3d
(10+ years ago?), Doom, and Doom2, then Duke3d.. Since then
I have not played very many games because they were not much
fun to me (Quake, Quake2) this game looks like it will be
different though! More fun enemeys and great playability.....

Sweet game

This game was really fun, i have a [bad] internet connection or i would play the multiplayer mod even more. The only problem is it has little to no replay value. It is great while it last and takes quite a while to beat. I would deffinetly reccomend this game to anyone with a high speed internet connection. This game has excellent graphics, i have a Geforce 4 64 MB and it looks great! Its always nice blowing away a few...before you have to go to class. The sound in this game is also excellent, you can actually hear the knife going in...when you stab them in the beggining scene. If you are a true gamer you got to have this game in your library.

Play it in a dark room

This game is not the same game as the original. The gameplay is different, the graphics and style of gameplay are different. But this is a good thing.

The best part of the first Castle Wolfenstein, in my opinion, was that (way back in the day) it was the first game that could make me jump in my seat. Playing it late at night, or in a dark, quiet room with the sound turned up, a Nazi swinging around the corner when you didn't expect him actually scared you!

Now, times have changed, and the original wouldn't do that for me any more. This one, however, did. Return to Castle Wolfenstein doesn't capture the room-to-room first-person shooting style of the original, but it recreates and improves so much on the feeling of suspense. Sitting crouched behind a corner, looking out, watching a guard walking his route, trying to time your attack so as not to draw the alarm can be so exciting.

Now have a patrol come up behind you while you're waiting to do that, and you have a real rush.

The AI is not the best I've seen, but it's certainly not the worst (Quake II anyone?). The little clues to tell you where guards will and won't be, the routes they walk, and how you can move quickly and quietly enough to accomplish your goal make the game almost as much a puzzle game as a first-person shooter. I haven't had as much fun with any FPS as RtCW in a very long time.

Great game, great graphics....I love it!

I really like this game. I've been a fan of "wolfestein" for a long time, since that 2d wolfestein came out a few years ago. This one has a bunch of different types of guns, sniper rifles, knife, pistol, rocket launcher....etc.
The graphics and the music are great. I have a Pentium III 1GHZ with 512 RAM and the game runs VERY smoothly.
The one thing I don't really like that much are the zombies and freaky things that appear, but besides that it's really good. This one is good. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes WWII games, and first-person shooting games. You'll be hooked on it for hours :)

Take it from me --

This game absolutely rules the team-based combat FPS scene. As the war of Axis vs. Allies rages on, one must enlist into four distinct classes, each not being overpowerful and dependant upon the next. Weapons are finely-crafted to match their real-world counterparts, and the superb graphics are fueled by the powerful Quake III engine. Not only that, but the Single-player is heaps of fun as well, regardless of what those other fools might tell you. Ambient and gunshot sounds are surprisingly realistic, making it seem as it you were an actual soldier during WWII. Bottom line: This is Wolfenstein, spawn of all grandeur FPS's, for a new era of gamers.
