Unreal tournament blows this game to pieces. don't waste your money on a game that has horrible gameplay and low FPS graphix. UT will always be #1.....

i thought it was kind of cool the first time i played deathmatch. but then i played unreal tournament, and descent3. it pales in comparison to either of them. the weapons are old and tired, and the onlything new is the graphics, which are so-so. don't waste your money, go get UT or descent3. they are alot more fun to play at lan partys, and online.

All the things that the other reviewers are griping about is NIL with the release of the official demo. 4 maps total. Joystick support. single player modes.. All i can say is VERY COOL. UT is great too. BUT Q3 Rocks.

It's very simple, if you just can't get enough mindless DM (deathmatching) then this is your game but if your looking for some extremely fun new modes of gameplay AND having the option for DM, I highly recommend either Tribes or Unreal Tournament. This game lasted less than one week on my harddrive, booooring....

Who has this kind of hand-eye coordination? This game moves way to fast for anyone aside from the average twelve year old to be good at it. I don't like games I have to break a sweat to play. This game is total crap, tame it down some and it would be good.

I started out in the Quake scene with the very first quake. I would have to say that after playing the test of Q3 and the UT demo that UT is a much better game. It adds more than just a change of graphics and weapons. You have more firing styles, two for each weapon. Q3 will probably be a good game, I just think if you can only buy one, buy UT!

Well, I've played both demos and the full game of unreal. They're both very awesome games. In my opinion, I like quake III better, I'm not saying that UT is bad but I don't really like the environment, I likethe castles and lava that quake III provides. And yeah, quake III is very demanding, but well worth it once you get going.

when i got my new p3 450 last summer, quake 3 was the first thing i got. it took me 8 hours to download, but man was it worth it. teh graphics are way better than anything ive ever seen, and the gameplay is perfect - everythings jsut right. ive been following first person games since i could read, when wolfenstein was the game to play, and quake 3 is the best yet, second only ot the original quake.

Absolutely the worst game in the excellent Quakes. This certainly bombed the whole trilogy with its gameplay. What I hate about this game is the nonstop mindless shooting where you don't have to think. Getting killed in this game also causes alot of anger because everyone just jumps around you and constantly fires! This game is just like UT, bad. Utterly bad! I have constantly tried to like it, but failed at every attempt. Avoid at all costs!

I've played Halo, medal of honor, call of duty etc., Only Quake I can't get enough of.Have to be quick, moves fast, and I love killing those creatures of destruction. Too Bad id software won't make a Quake IV ( better grafics,unlimited use of the trasporter etc.) I guess the violent nature of the game was the reason for the final edition.
