Your villagers need a patch

Do not buy this game until you find out that there is a working patch that actually allows you to finish the game.

The most exciting and ambitious part about this great game is in the attempt to make every outcome of the game depend on the gamer's actions. As a "god," you can choose be a good (white) or evil (black). You can perform various miracles to help your followers and convert the followers of other gods. There's also a special creature (Lion,Cow,Monkey,etc.) that you get to raise. The personality and skills of the creature depends on your actions as well. Beyond its ambitious idea, the game does get a little repetitive. I'd definitely recommend to have a pentium III 500mhz system or better to have an effective gameplay.

an awsome sweet game! loads of laughs(espacially throwing villagers around) i highly reccomend it. not very violent, no gore(so far) smooth game play really fun somewhat time consuming teach creeature lots of suff Be Good. Be Evil. Be a God.

It was like so cool because you got to have your own creature and make it do tasks and you are a god so you can kill villagers and stuff!

Brutal thats all I have to say. I read alot of online reviews on most computer sites and eventhough many of them gave it top billing I could tell from the type of game that I would hate it. (So I guess I am biased from the outset.)

However a friend of mine raved about it and my brother had bought it and said it was okay. So I grabbed his disk and gave it a shot.

Glad I never bought it. I have a brand new rig and the sound and talking chop out on me. Doesn't do it with anything else so I will blame the game.

Strike One.

Secondly although it says I get to be God. I don't think gods like to babysit people that are dumber and more helpless then my 2 year old son.

Strike Two.

Lastly the tasks are so mundane that I would rather file my nails (and maybe my teeth) Help rescue the drowning fishermen!! If you fish you should be able to swim. I let them drown. Help some guys build a boat! If they can build the boats themselves then by rights they should be able to cut down the trees for wood.

Strike Three.

After about 5 hours of this game I uninstalled it and just to be safe I formatted my hard drive, just on the off chance that some of this games residues still lurked on my system. I would have broke the CD in half to (for safety reasons) but thankfully it wasn't mine.

Just call this game bug

Dont buy this game if you have a 3dfx voodoo banshee video card the only good graphics are on the creatures,the support is also terrible i called a few days ago and the support person said go to the site and download the patch, after waiting the agonising 45 minute download i tryed to run the patch and then it said"cant patch this you do not have the right version installed" How many versions are there???? two Words DONT BUY IT!!! Lion head studios is geting NO more buisness from me!!!

This is one of the best games I have ever played. When people ask me "What kind of a game is it" all I can say is "You have to play to find that out". It has some 'settler-ish' elements, but as you develop your character in the game it becomes clear that it is much more than that.

I loved it so much I bought it twice!

A few months ago I bought this game ...and I was thrilled. I loved trying to decide whether to be kind or evil. Just like in real life it's much harder to be good, but I just loved the little helpers, and all the miracles that you can work. Then, after a short life, the game found its way into the hell that I call my brother's room. Anywhere you step it's a foot deep in God knows what, and I never saw that disc again.... :(

Then I bought the game again! I loved it so much that I figured that i just couldn't live without it. So happy gaming and if you have the chance to get this game please do. Trust me, you'll find it just as much fun!

Black and White

I bought black and white recently and I don't know why so many people give it a bad rap. A lot of people say it doesn't work but I guess that's true if your computer is from the stone age and you have no smarts about computers what so ever. This is game is a new idea in it self because no game has even come close to this. The idea of being god has been seen before;the rts idea has also been implamented in this game. Mixing the god, rts and having a creature makes this game so great. The creature part has amazing AI and its almost as if your creature is a living breating pet thats eats people sometimes...heh heh. The only drawback is the constant micro management if you're evil or for a long time until your creature learns to help if your good. All in all I advise everyone to buy this game unless they have a horrible computer or have no knowledge about computers.

Don't waste your money.

Potential for a good game if they ever fix the bugs. But I have had my game two months now and no patch has been released. The developes continually promise a patch and then delay for new features. Why add new features until the game works.
