Man, This game is totally awesome. You control village,
you rule the world, man. YOU do anything you want as you become a Mighty God.

GOOD POINT: tottally great 3-D graphics
So much fun, it's like raising a stupid child!
BECOMING A GOD

BAD POINT: Gets some trouble when I play multi.
Controlling village is SO HARD!

They want food, children, buildings... hell.......
but anyway it was OK.

Buy this game I recommend it.
(If you don't like being responsible and really frustrated
I don't recommend it)

While many games shine on the market, this is one of the brightest. The game is complex at times but features a simple interface. The game is challenging but not overly hard if you put some time in to it. Of the many things that can be done there are a few ways to do each. This open endedness is neat, you can explore and build without needing to complete certain quests in a time limit. The AI is very good. My creature got angery after it saw me do somthing I tried to teach it not to do. And it can mostly live on it's own. While you must meet the needs of the villagers and your creature in the game, beyond that they run can them selves.

The cons are that the interface is simple to the point of being too little. With all that is going on in the game I often wished for something more rather than having to manualy go to a location and visualy inspect an object/place. Being based mostly on the mouse I often came short of going ware I wanted or gabbing what I wanted with out a good grip on my mouse.

But isn't a huge flaw however. This game is very interesting and impressive. With nice graphics and amazing AI the game is very enjoyable.

Frustration in Black & White

In my 20+ years of computer gaming this is the ONLY game I've removed from my HD before finishing it.

Everything from the tedious turorial that needs to run every time you start a new creature to the absolute lack of any keyboard interface is a source of frustration. The creature AI is impressive, but you have to spend so much time clicking and pointing and the mouse almost always points to the wrong thing and the creature always gets the wrong idea. Before long he's eating poop and trying to fertilize fields with people. Frustrating.

The people can't do anything by themselves. After setting up a village with breeders, farmers, fishermen, wood cutters, etc. you go off to train your creature. When you come back all your villagers have died of old age, and none have become new breeders. Frustrating.

I tried for 3 weeks to raise the totem. Everything the books, and websites said I tried. Nothing. Frustrating.

I eagerly waited for this game for 2 years, it was off my harddrive in 3 weeks. Frustrating.

An inovative and addictive game.

In BLack and White you are a god in a world called eden. you at first learn how to gain trust (or fear) from your people and then cast good or evil miracles to rule villages and gain power. early in the game you get a creature, which is like the mortal form of you. He can help the people or [hurt] them for you! Takes a little time to learn, but has great graphics and a is loads of fun.

I have been playing Black & White now for a week and I have to say it is the best game I have played since Diablo 2. I dont know what everyone is crying about. As for Black & White running too slow on a P3 850, I have a computer running a Duron 700 and it couldnt run better. Ofcourse I custom built my own computer.... ...a true gamer ... would have the patients and understanding of a complex game like Black & White. Black & White is for serious gamers not no monday morning quarterbacks.... All of you people thinking about buying Black & White go ahead you wont regret it. ...

Its pretty good once you get to know it better

What is wrong with all of you people?? Boring? Pricy? Sucks? WHATEVER!!! its the best game i ever seen. Its fun by the way you throw people aorund, gather wood and stone and kill your villagers by throwing them into an ocean. They build a boat give them wood then they sail or kill them. The land is fantastic! looks so, so, so, so, so, so real. The zoom is good too. I think the guys who said this game sucks either never played it, or just wrote it bad and really ment its good so other people wouldn't like it.

Better get ready to really upgrade.

This game may be fun, I wouldn't know. So far I have added more RAM and a new video card. The game now runs but no sound. Tech support is lousy. My computer is only 2 years old and should be able to run this without a problem. If you are getting this for your kids you may want to install it before you tell them and it doesn't work. BIG disappointment.

Outright horrible game

The graphics are jerky, the interface bites and is slow, and it was one heck of a pain to get installed. I have a DELL Pentium III 650 MHz with 256 MB ram and a 16 MB video card and it performed poorly on my system so I can't imagine how it performs on the minimum requirements. Save your money and buy Sigma by Microsoft when it comes out in May.

I have been playing games for a long time and no game has ever made a bigger impact on me as much as this one did. The graphics are so superb that, sometimes your eyes just get lost in there beautiful detail. The gameplay is also great. You can use the mouse to do everything, YES I SAID EVERYTHING. Also the game is so addicting, i mean i barely had time to write this review, because i have been glood to my computer screen. The game does has some high requirements, but if you have a powerful computer, you will love this game, I GUARRANTEE IT. The AI in Black in White frightens me. You can train you animal to do whatever you want. You can make him love to eat grain or people. You can train him to strike lightnings bolts. You do this, by petting him or hitting him after every action that he does. Well if you love PC games with great graphics, sound, gameplaye, and addictiveness, then you have got to get BLACK AND WHITE.....

By the way it is my favorite PC game of all time
