The game is good but it is too short. I finished the game in three days. I expected it to be a little longer. 8(

could have been much better

i bought this game just a few days ago and i thought it would be something grand and spectacular. it was all hyped up to be a great game. music and enviroment were spectacular. game was fun though for about an hour. then it just got extremely dull. the plot of the story is rather mundane and mediocre. the whole rags to riches theme used all over with trials and boring adventures in the middle. does not have the free flowing movement which other games of the genre do have. baldurs gate is of the few that come to mind. if you are looking for a game within this genre stick with the baldurs gate series, icewind dale, or wait for neverwinter nights. other games to look for are in the ultima series and diablo series as well.

A brief review

I really enjoy the Baldur's Gate series (so you know my area of interests) and I enjoyed Asheron's Call before it became big.

What I really like about this game is that you determine how your skills are accumulated; it has beautiful scenery, music, and seamless gameplay. The camera angles are very cool, and again, seamless. Alot of detail work went into this. Also, the story itself is pretty neat.....

I don't like that you cannot fully control your characters (round based) in combat- it's alot of "meet monster, attack hack and slash". Strategy is tough.

If you are looking for a casual game to blow a couple of hours a week on and feel graphics and sound are important this is perfect for you.

This game is not for anyone who is really into true RPG.
The graphis are great but that is about it!
In this game you can't save or build a char when playing with others on the net or local network.

Im this close to never buying another game with microsoft stamped on it ever again. Welcome to single player Diablo. It was fun to start with but quicky becomes boring. The story is dull and the interface is clunky, and you CANT PAN UP. Do yourself a favor and buy a game with some replay value, this game has none.

So-so

I haven't played the actual game yet, but have tried out the demo, which goes far enough for one to get a good feel of how the game is like.

- The graphics are great, yes, and the freedom of moving camera angle is very good.
- The character advancement system is quite refreshing; you can literally try to make your character capable of melee, combat magic and nature magic, or just focus on one skill.

All in all, the game entertained me for a while, but I think I'm going so far as the demo's end. No more. Why?

- Click, characters rush in, monsters die. Click, characters rush in, monsters die. Click, characters rush in, monsters die. Rinse, repeat.
- Story, anyone?
- Extremely linear; you can't even stray far from the path.
- Little to none sub-quests.
- DS could have been brother with Diablo II - mana potion, health potion, the mana and health fountain in that crypt... and the crypt looks suspiciously familar, too. Diablo II all over again, just in 3D.

Ah, well. And I had so much hope, too...

DS is better than Diablo 2

This is a good hack-n-slash game that is slightly better than Diablo 2. Howvever it is not as long a campiagn as Diablo 2. would recommend this to anyone that likes Diable 2.

Microsoft has doen a great job with this game making it easy to pick up and hard to put down! One of the best things about the game is watching your pack mule fight! Judo Kick!

Good story boring features

Great story line and thats about the only good thing this game has. Its graphics and game play is nice but managing a group of 3 people gets to be a pain and character appearance is mediocker. There are only few spells and two different types of spells and stats are done for you as you progress. The spells should change or become more insteanse as they level up not stay the same as a puny ball. Melee atacks are good but its hard to level up sometimes to get the stats to use a found weapon. Overall this game gets 2...

How to gain high Battle and Nature skills w/o cheat codes

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 2

I like this game a lot Here I would like to share some experiences about how to get higher skills in spells casting without using cheat codes or modifing the game setting. If you set a charater start with higher skill then the game become no funs

In the "swamp", where you need to put the "artifact" in a ruin temple, there are many wizards can produce infinite numbers of monsters. Just do not killed all of them until you reach the level skills you like. However, it is hard when several wizards attack at once by summoning monsters and casting spells. So try to kill most of them by searching around the swamp.

Dealing 1 or 2 wizards is not very hard. Actually, I set it up in such a way that the party is self-contained. The healing/casting/melee work properly without mana or health drinks for several hours( I mean before the wizard(s) get killed or you are all killed). Try not to use archers because it might accidently kill wizards before you want it to. And the skills you really want are battle/nature.

The swamp is only place that the wizards can reproduce. I think that is what designers want you to do. There are several spells need more than 70 nature or battle skills. If do not do this, it is impossible to get there unless using cheat codes
