I hope I can get my money back. I can't believe that so many people gave this game a good review. Mindless clicking. The good graphics and animations can't save it.

Good Game That Still Holds Up

I finally got around to playing Dungeon Siege. The style is in the line of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. What makes it slightly different is the Diablo I/II feel it has: the point and click/kill interface. Yet it maintains the complexity of the former games.

As another reviewer noted it does get repetitive after a while and some of the charm wears off. This is a simple game that is driven by the model of get the best stuff you can afford, kill monsters, get gold, buy better stuff and kill bigger monsters. There are very few puzzles to solve. I would have liked to see more role playing elements such as making decisions on what side to fight on or what path to choose. As it is the game is very very linear. But I did enjoy my time with it.

For the price it is an excellent buy with graphics that are still quite good despite its age.

This is the first game i have played where i was totally satisfied. It combines all the Diablo, Vampire the Masquerade, (I have never played B's gate so i couldnt say there) traits that I love and destroys the ones that I didnt like, Then blended in excellent graphics... all and all I am VERY pleased with it.

One word, awesome

Take the best of Diablo II, Baldour's Gate, mix them together, add a 360 degree angle and zoom capabilities, and there you have single player Dungeon Siege. It's just like everybody says, no wait times, no load times, no anything except awesome graphics, awesome gameplay, awesome dungeon crawling.

Now, if you want multiplayer?

Take the best of TFC (sorry, there may be others out there, I dunno) and add that into the mix. Plus, you can save your character. Agreed, I played multiplayer online at work, and therefore didn't have a whole lotta time to play, but it's still awesome. And once the siege editor comes out, omg.

Now, is the time for the true roleplayer to get his copy of DS, and go to town. Our time has come.

I've played EQ, and this game totally kicks EQ's arse.

Boring....

The mule is cool. Arcanum players will appreciate the mule. You can get a herd of mules to follow you around. You spend your time whacking critters. If you like mules and whacking critters.... this game is for you. If you want any kind of plot line or NPC dialogue go elsewhere. BG or Morrowind come to mind. I'll give it 3 stars because the graphics don't .... and it almost makes it as a first person shooter game.

The worst piece of crap I have ever played.

... That is the only possible way to describe this boring, repetitive, hackneyed attempt at an action RPG.

I don't know where to begin. This game is simply terrible. The graphics, admittedly, are spectacular, with gorgeous vistas and spine-tingling, fog-choked valleys in which your enemies wait, hidden in ambush. There are times when the game is just downright atmospheric.

And then, there's every other miserable moment of your life you'll spend playing this. The characters are flat, boring, and bland. You can't grow attached to any, because when you next come across an NPC-for-hire of the same class, you'll immediately drop your current one and hire the next. The system for advancing your characters is simply terrible; you'll often come across great weapons and armor that call for statistics much higher than what you have, and in order to raise them, you have to seek out and slaughter as many mindless baddies as possible.

The bad guys, then, are just as terrible as the rest of the game. They look good, sure, and [can be destroyed] nice -- when you can actually make them. Most of the time, your party will be getting its collective backside handed to it by hordes of monsters who give off minimal rewards for their slaughter.

Topping all of this off with a bit of whipped cream is the complete lack of a story. Seriously; if there's one thing that can save a game, it's a good story. A well-told tale will keep you interested and struggling through to the end. Well, not me. After investing countless hours into my generic band of ragtag idiots, I suddenly realized that all my work, all my effort, was [worthless]. My mind wasn't going to by stimulated by a suprise plot twist, because there wasn't any plot to twist. At that moment, I exited the game and uninstalled it.

Please, everyone. If you enjoyed the hack-and-slash, mindless action of Diablo , you'll love Dungeon Siege. If you suffered through Diablo 2 soley to find out what would come of the Lord of Terror's mad schemes, you're much better off with Neverwinter Nights, Wacraft III, or even Freedom Force.

Fun game, if you like pure hack and slash. Gorgeous graphics, learning-by-doing gameplay, entertaining combat, but way too little in terms of plot and storyline.

Lots of combat, no story

I blew threw this game in surprisingly little time. The end is totally anticlimactic. Te game is visually amazing and the interface is smooth, but it's not very challenging.

FUN until you beat the game

I was amazed by the graphics of the game. I loved the way u can move the camera and tilt it. After I beat the game it's boring. It has almost ZERO replayability. Once u beat it, it's BORING. the multiplayer [is no good]. If you want to spend that much money, buy DIABLO II! It is 100 times better, u have different characters and different skill's and MUCH more items and A LOT BETTER REPLAYABILITY.

This game aint for me.

I bought this game for a bargain 15 dollars, it is a good timewaster, but it isnt for me. I like rpgs with depth, this one might be good for newbies, but not me.
