The game has 200 lvls im lvl 170 and quiting. It's plagued with bugs and lack of content, total class inbalance. This game should be taken back to the concept drawing boards. DO NOT BUY IT! for your sanity sake.
For Dedicated MMRPGer's Right Now, Wait if your not...

...willing to put up with the technical problems still facing this game.
I have played AO for a while now and I find the game to have enormous promise and at current it is VERY playable however there are still bugs, my system freezes once every two or three hours causing me to manually restart.
The game is worth the measly fee of $10 a month. If your willing to bear the bruises of this game then I suggest you buy now and come along for the ride with the rest of us, I won't be leaving AO any time soon.
EXCELLENT graphics for an MMRPG, leaps and bounds over Everquest and lightyears ahead of UO; the graphics run smoothly on my Pentium 600, 128 SD-RAM, 16 Meg Nvidia.
Sound is acceptable, better then Everquest (But that's not saying much). Dont expect and Epic soundtrack or "Life-like" creature effects, don't expect anything too shabby either.
Overall a reasonable product that deserves your attention. Even if you don't stick with it I highly suggest to play it on a friend's system or something; give it a shot.
Anarchy?? Its F.A.B Virgil!!

Well, ok, i had some problems getting started, but once the autopatcher was working it seemd to fix all the problems i initially had immediatly. (any 1 ever tried autoupdating CS or HL will apreciate how things can go wrong, but this is perfect.)
This has been written on the Nov6 2001 and i can tell you this, i have not encountered any bugs at all (apart from getting addicted), you r able to do single missions or team mission,, where are in limitless supply.
I bought Arcanum cos i liked the Magic and Tech combination, but Anarchy Online Kicks its scrauney butt!!
With first and 3rd person cameras this game is the second most visually graphic and detailed game i know (second to Max Payne).
Well if u like the MMRPG's then you should get this, cos lets face it, when a game this great comes out it'll be around for a long time and thing are only gonna get better!! (somehow!!)
Excellent! All better. Finally!

This is a great game. They have finally knocked the worst bugs out and it is great. I played for 5 hours straight yesterday (a Sunday!) without any lag or any problems at all! You have waited long enough and the game is ready for playing!
Lags, yes. Every MMORPG had this during the first month!

No amount of beta testing could have prepared the programmers for the onslaught in popularity of this game. When a server (not to mention game software) is used to a beta-test load of a few thousand people and then it is suddenly subjected to the actions of 15,000 people, the entire game dynamic changes.
If you want a seriously polished MMORPG then purchase Everquest. EQ is solid, fun, and rarely crashes. In another month, so shall AO. As other reviewers said, AO has a GREAT DEAL OF POTENTIAL. To some, it is not worth their money before the game is polished.
They are still working on it!

These guys who reviewed before me wrote one or two days after release. Funcom has men working on server issues and bugs 24/7 and everyday improve by leaps and bounds. It really is a great game, you just need to have the patience to sit still while they patch every little detail up.
This game is extremely good

This game has bad rating because of technical difficulties. Almost all of those difficulties are gone now, and look at the reviews, theyre all very old, many of the from the Beta Phases. Actually this game is very good, and they have over 70 000 customers already, and the game opened in late June. Its is a huge world, and extremely detailed.. You can explore for hundreds of hours, and find lots of new friends. Care less about negative OLD reviews and give this game a chance. See you on Rubi-Ka
THIS GAME ROCKS!!!

This game is a awesome game. The garphics are beutiful and the game is a lot of fun. There was a lot of problems with the game when it was released but most of of the problems are fixed. It still has the lag problem, but its getting better. Funcom is working on it and know what the problem is.
Anarchy Online Best MMORPG Ever!!

I hav played Everquest and i gotta tell u AO is a EQ killer!!i know that in the begining y had alot os flaws and bugs but noow is great and palyable. the difierence between EQ and AO is that in AO the newbie quests are good and the loot is great and in EQ the quests [aren't good] and the loot [isn't good] too , in AO the gameplay is more instresting than in EQ. Well if u are tired of EQ and want a new MMORPG game that kicks serious [butt] BUy THIS GAME!
An honest review(still playing)

This game has the POTENTIAL to be a great RPG game. I've been playing since release and having fun.
As an MMORPG, it is always being upgraded and bug fixed. To truely get what the current situation is go to somewhere like aovault.com or ao-basher.com and check the message forums. Anarchy Online HAD message forums but after a bad patch they had alot of bad messages and on the day of European release, the got rid of all the messageboards except for 1 that is 100% moderated(as in nothing is posted till reviewed by FUNCOM).
So, to write a review from a customer standpoint is pointless with a game that is constantly changing... go to a major Anarchy Online Fansite(not the official waterdowned version) and read what current customers have to say about the game, it changes from patch to patch. But if you like SciFi and you like MMORPGs this is a very good game to get if you can handle the bugs and possibly drastic changes to certain Professions that you can be.
