One of the best FPShooters out there on any console to date. Beat the game on single player 3x on each difficulty(casual,hardcore,insane) and i'm still not tired of the game. The online play is great. Plenty of people online and it is much harder than other Online FPS games. You must use a lot of teammwork otherwise you lose. One of few games worth getting for the 360. My gamertag is ITIonster NRG, so add me if you want to play xbox live, i also play halo 2.

If you don't want to wait for Halo 3 for the Xbox 360 purchase, this is the perfect game to play while awaiting Halo 3. The game is awesome with amazing graphics, and I don't even own an HDTV. I have the standard definition flat screen TV, but the difference is still obvious compared to the old Xbox. The game play is great for those who played a lot of hours on Halo/Halo2. The sequence of game events portends a lot of curiousity. I find myself using the "A" button to gain an edge in concealment and position without getting shot. It also helps to learn to use the different parts of the arsenal to defeat the locusts. It is a lot of fun. However, it is also very intense and requires accuracy with planning.

Gears of War is by far the best game for the Xbox 360 yet

Gears of War has everything a good game needs, good fast-paced action, great graphics, and an amazing story. Gears of War is fun to play because you can't jut run around killing everything blindly. You have to take cover; actually think about your strategy or you lose. This game ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game definitely lived up to all the hype. The graphics are amazing and the online play is incredibly addictive. Not for younger children though, this game is extremely bloody and could scare some children. My ten year old cousin tried it and couldn't sleep that night after playing it on Xbox Live, where someone snuck up behind him and chainsawed him. One of the previous reviewers said that the screens you see are all taken from cut scenes and that the game graphics aren't as good. This is pretty stupid because the cut scenes are generated in game and have the same graphics as the regular game play. I doubt he's actually played the game, because even if you don't like anything else about the game you'd have to be blind to say the graphics are anything short of excellent. Probably just a lame Sony fan who has nothing better to do since the PS3 has nothing good on it, so he's bitter that us Xbox fans got something so good. My only complaint about the game is that the campaign is pretty short, but it doesn't bother me because this is my new favorite Xbox Live game.

Wow. That's all that I can really say..... The graphics are that which make history, and the gameplay is astounding. The characters were made very well, and the AI was surprisingly smart. I bought this game hoping that it would be fun to play co-operatively with friends, and it definately meets my expectations. The ONLY problem I have with GOW is that I was able to beat it on Hardcore difficulty in a couple of hours.... but there is Insane difficulty, so I'm okay with that. Plus, there is X-box Live gaming possible with GOW, so the fun never really ends. BUY THIS GAME!!!

i got lucky and found a game store which had a copy for sale on the release date (they were sold out everywhere else). i don't even really like shooters but i give full props to the great ones that i've played (chronicles of riddick butcher's bay, half-life 2, call of duty, etc.). this one doesn't disappoint. it's awesome. the graphics are top notch, the controls are nice, the post-apocalyptic storyline is cool...the only thing negative i've noticed is this game is pretty friggin hard on the normal (hardcore) mode. but most gamers love that anyway, makes it something worth accomplishing.

This is all I can say about this game. What are you doing reading these reviews you should be playing this game! You can't go wrong with this game period. Graphics are best to date on any sytem, gameplay is fun and easy.

This is Xbox 360's killer app.

People will buy the 360 just to play this game. Its simply that good. Not only has this game lived up to the hype, but it is arguable the first true next gen title we have seen on any console.

An absolute must own for any gamer.
