the graphics are stunning but......

the playability is HORRIBLE!!!!!! I played it on "Novice" level and got my butt kicked!!! I then played a showdown round against my dog and he beat me 12 to 1!!!!!!!! I can NOT believe that the game industry would allow such a stupid, unplayable piece of crap like this into the consumer sales. That is just making us taxpayers waste our already wasted money on this garbage. The graphics are nice though. I really do wish they would make it for xbox 360 though, the 360 is soooooooo much more powerful than the basic xbox...

By now you'll know what your in for with GOW so im just here to back the reviews by saying how much fun this game.

The graphics are the best I've ever seen on the 360 hands down. The gameplay and controls are 100% solid. The sound, the music, the story, all meet up. The co-op is this game's bread and butter and if you buy it you better have a buddy cause that's how this game was meant to be played.
It's an absolute blast. This is the best game I've played on the 360 so far.

It seemed really short but of course I have to take into account that the game was so fun you don't stop playing it.

The teamate A.I. also is pretty retarded at some points if you play single player so definitely have a friend take control.

these are small problems and don't really matter when compared to the insurmountable number of things that this game does right. Go buy it. Now.

I made the mistake of buying this new, it's way too short for single player only people and is not worth $60, rental or $35 max.

The graphics are great, but over hyped in my opinion, I feel sorry for console only people, for less than the cost of a 360 and this game I can get a lower high end graphics card($150) with as good or better graphics and better controls on an already owned PC, not to mention an LCD screen for true HD. HL2 is a 3+ year old PC game and has better graphics on a mid-range PC.

This game was awesome to play though, controls are intuitive and it does have next-gen console graphics. The story is pretty typical and uninteresting. Like I said if you are a single player only don't buy this, rent it or buy it at $35, then it's recommended.

Could have been the best game on 360 ever, except its too short.

What can I share that the hype has not already said a million times before. The game is graphicly intense, the camera and controler is perfect.

But.. you can do this game in a few hours, for me, at default setting, I completed the game in less then 6 hours. Thats just way to damn short, and I am not even that good at shooters!

The story is non-existant, but the voice overs where done well, the level of grunt chat was just right.

Was it worth $60? I think its 20 dollars overpriced.

Overall. disapointed that it could have been a great game, but this is no HALO!

I dont understand the hype surrounding this game. The story is horrible and multiplayer lacks substance. There is no ranking sytem in multiplayer, you cant customize your multiplayer character, you cant even unlock cool new suff as you get promoted because ther are no promotions. The multiplayer is just one match after another in which you try to move up the leaderboard. It would be better if they gave me a reason to keep wanting to play the multiplayer. This game was fun for about a week, but then it got boring. Plus there is also alot of annoying people that you have to put up with while playing this game on live. when they die they are able to watch your every move and if you get killed they have the nerve to talk junk, when they themselves were dead already. I just think this is a kiddy game with chainsaws and no story. Il stick with rainbow six vegas.

Good first game for series

This is a good game if you like shooters; amazing graphics, excellent physics, great production values overall. However, there is some room for improvement. The story is short (typical of all next-gen offerings thus far, unfortunately), and offline multiplayer is limited to 1-on-1 which is pretty weak considering even the Nintendo 64 supported 4 player deathmatches more than a decade ago. This was the most disappointing thing about the game, because my friends and I get together every week to frag each other in Halo 2 and were looking for something more fresh. We don't have the necessary incomes to each have a 360, much less the fees associated with broadband access and Xbox Live. Still, it is a very good game, but if you don't plan on online multiplayer being a large factor in your purchising decision, I would recommend renting this instead of buying.

resistance fall of man is better

i think this game doesnt come close to resistance fall of man because gears messes up on you and resistance doesnt. dont get me wrong this game is really fun but just to short. resistance also has better graphics its twice as long and 3x harder then gears of war. and i dont really like this game overall if it was longer and harder and didnt mess up on you i would give it a 5.
