Great single player but not so good multiplayer

dont get me wrong with the 4 stars i LOVE this game but there is a tad problem with the multiplayer the game lags a lot mostly when your not playing ranked matches and when its laggy it usually doesnt fix itself you usually have to quit and join another game even though the multiplayer is kind of bad the single player is great i would reccomend this to anyone with an xbox 360

I was a huge fan of the frist Call Of Duty, but this one brings war to a whole new level. This is the kind of game once you start playing it, you nver want to put it down. This is a turely breakthrough game for the Xbox 360. Some people will say that the 360 sucks, well when you get this game you will know that they are full of crap. ENJOY THIS AMAZING WAR GAME EXSPERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Console Play with Lackluster Online Play

This game is great in single player mode at normal difficulty. As you can read in the other reviews the graphics are incredible and the AI is great for both your allies and enemies alike until you play on veteran mode. In veteran difficulty your squadmates suddenly become stupid and help very little, making the game harder but unrealistic. Also, your enemies suddenly know where you are at all times and only target you even if your whole squad is standing out in the open. If that isn't enough, the online play and multiplayer play is horrible. There are no co-op missions for multiplayer console play, and the online scenarios are weakly put together. If not for those two issues, this game could have been what Halo was to the original Xbox. Instead, it will be known as a good World War Two shooter with awesome graphics. The 360 is still waiting for a game worthy of its power.

Call of Duty 2 has been arguably the most popular World War II gaming franchise ever, and it's impossible to dissagree, this is an amazing game. Here is my review for Call of Duty 2.

Graphics: 9/10. Obviously the graphics are a million notches above past consoles, but I was strikingly suprised at how great the graphics were just for a launch title. ( Since usually graphics on a console get better as its life progresses. ) The soldiers look life-like, and the enviroments look fantastic. The only real problems graphically, are that the smoke grenades in buildings go through the walls, and there are occasional blurs, that's about it. Amazing graphics.

Sound: 10/10. You won't believe your ears. This is one of the best sounding games I've ever played. The explosions are great, the guns are great, everything's great, but what really makes you feel into the game is the fact that your infantry men talk to you, and when they do, it's actually useful. You know how in past games guys would randomly say things that weren't true? In this game it is. "German's coming from the South West." He's right. Brilliant sound, it really immerses you into the game.

Control: 9.5/10. Most anyone can pick up the controller and know how to play. I can honestly say I NEVER played an Xbox, but I picked this game up first day and right after the Training for this game I knew exactly what to do. Great controls that are very easy to use, yet effective.

Fun: 9/10. I'm on the last mission on single player currently, and I must say, this is an unbelievable game. The whole single player is in a way repetetive, but then again, that's what war is. But with the fantastic action going on ALL THE TIME, it really doesn't matter if you're doing tedious tasks over and over again. This is a great game on single player, and even a blast online. Online is good, but hard, because " No matter how good you are at one thing, there's always about a million people better. ". So basically, you will keep getting shot dead in the back online. However, the hit detection is spot on; unlike games like Halo, Halo 2, and SOCOM 2 and 3 for the PS2. The multiplayer is also good, but nothing like single player. Single player is just hands down constant intense action, while split-screen is just laid back, find and kill the other guy. The biggest thing that I didn't like about this game, was the fact that there was no 2-player campaign mode; now anyone could agree that'd be sweet. 27 missions, and single player's over, then you can go through it again. ( Which is still great. ) But I reccomend online play. Call Of Duty 2 simply has the best single player I've ever played in any shooting game; maybe ever. This is a must buy for a 360 owner.

This game is very intense! This game covers WWII theaters involving the USSR, British, and US. I'm not going to kill you with too much repeated detail. So, I'll get to the point.
**Smooth Game Play and Controls
**Realistic terrain
**Intelligent AI
**Xbox Live is very fun!
**Good replay potential
**Awesome Sound effects
**Very Detailed in grphics, but could be better in places.

Summary,
Not quite Halo, but will do until Halo 3 arrives. Looks good even on standard TV.
A very good game that will please most everyone who likes 1st person shooters.

COD 2 is the best so far in the series, and in the genre as well. I bought this game with my Xbox 360 and enjoyed it. I still prefer this game over COD 3 and many other games.
-Singleplayer: The singleplayer aspect in COD 2 very fun, and leads you through 4 different campigns in 4 different settings such as North Africa, France, and Russia. The levels are pretty open, allowing for different tactics of your own. The good part about this is that your allies adapt to your tactics. There are many parts in the game where you will be able to complete your objective several different ways.
-Multiplayer: It can be fun, but it suffers lag and no innovation. You'll just walk around and shoot people. Infinity Ward needs to step their multiplayer department.

Though the jaded gamer may pass over any game with the words wwII fps in it this is one you shouldn't miss out on. This game comes with an excellent, yet short, single player campaign and good multiplayer as well.

The single player is the true standout with some of the most intense roller coaster levels you will ever play in any shooter. The graphics are now dated although the smoke effects are nice, the rest is very last gen.

Don't let that stop you from buying this game which is totally worth a buy for anyone who owns a 360.

For this being one of the first games on the xbox 360 they did a great job. action is there the smoke in this game is just unreal and even after call of duty 3 you can still get this game because there is no connection.
This is a game all by itself and its one of the best out for the system

Up til the release of Call of Duty 4 this was the greatest entry in the call of duty franchise. The campaign is well paced and just varied enough to avoid being repetetive. In my opinion, this is the best WWII shooter you will play on a console.

I read the reviews on the various WW2 shooters before buying COD2. They all said that the Call of Duty owned the genre head and shoulders above the competition.

I own CoD2 and I can honestly say it is one of the best games I have played. Very glad I bought it. Best of all, I didn't get my XBOX360 until recently so I was able to get it used for under $20 bucks.

The story / campaign mode for this game is just OUTSTANDING. Realism all over the place, from the locations to the equipment, to the sounds and uniforms. Had a blast playing this for HOURS on end! Really felt like I was in on the action, especially in some of the maps where you attack German bunkers.

Overall, recommend this game to players looking for a fun game with lots of shoot 'em up excitement.
