The game is very realistic, down to the mechanisms on the various weapons you can choose from. There's a variety of European battlefields to fight on. This is much easier to play than Call of Duty 3.

One of the best war games that I have ever played. Game play is excellent and makes you feel in the thick of things. I also like the real life video's that educates you about some of the battles that took place during WW II. Two thumbs up!

I couldn't put this game down after I bought it. There's so much depth and beauty to the graphics, and it's surprisingly challenging at points, without being overbearing. The only downside is that there are only a limited number of missions, but each of them is perfectly crafted. Highly recommended!

This is hands down one of the best World War II first person shooters on the market. If you have an Xbox 360 and you don't have COD 2, order it now! You won't be disappointed. The action is great, the cutscenes look good, I mean the opening scene before you press start will blow you away. The gameplay is fun and the learning curve is small. You'll be clearing houses and defending outposts in no time. You also get to participate in three different campaigns, Soviet, British, and American. The fighting takes place in Russia, Africa, France and Germany. There is a wide variety of weapons from the World War II era including heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, pistols and bolt-action rifles. Grenades and artillery also make the gameplay intense. Some vehicles are also included and there are objectives in the game that sometimes require you to take out Tiger Tanks and incoming enemy aircraft. Ducking and using cover is an important element of the game, as well as being aware of grenades that the Jerry's toss at you. A few notes about the controls and other physical aspects of the game. You can jump and clear walls, which is good, but you can't grab any cover, like in GRAW or GoW. Also, there is no arc to estimate where your grenades will land. Aiming your rifle requires you to stand still or you can hold the left trigger button and stare down the site of your selected weapon, you can move while looking through the site, but very slowly. While this is a more difficult way to aim, it certainly captures the essence of World War 2 and how difficult it is to shoot someone fifty or one hundred yards away. The multiplayer is also a good part of the game, however, the run and gun tactics of Halo and other FPSs are not very effective and players need to stragically select there areas of cover and movement within the maps.

The bottom line is: This is a great WWII FPS! Anyone who is a fan of FPSs or World War 2 should get this game.

I have played many different world war 2 games in my days of being a gamer but I must say that this one is by far the best one of them all. Most of these type games are really easy and aren't very fun to play for to long since you just run in guns blazing and kill everybody with little effort. This game on the other hand will teach you very quickly that you can't do that even on easy. There are plenty of difficulties out there to test your skills as a gamer, and if you are looking for a real challenge then you won't be disappointed playing on veteran. Overall I would say that this is one of the best WWII games on the market and if you are one of the fortunate souls that has an Xbox 360 I suggest that you go out and by this game.

This is a STAR among the 360 launch titles...

Call of Duty 2 is one of the best games at the launch of the xbox 360. The graphics are incredible, the gameplay is immersive and it leaves little to be desired.

If you have a 360... or are going to get one... get this game with it.

I just got the 360 and Call of Duty 2 was the first game I launched with. If you ever enjoyed the Medal of Honor series....forget all you know. THIS is what WWII fighting is all about. Beware of those grenades and the bullets whizzing in from all sides. Intense first person shooter! You get to play Russians, British, and Americans against the world's greatest villians - the Nazis! Great weapons, graphics and gameplay. Non-stop too. If you die...just catch a breath and jump back out of the foxhole. It was a great time.

I have an Xbox and Xbox360. I've been a gamer for many, many years. Halo 1 and 2 are still the most amazing games I've ever played. That being siad, COD2 is pretty darn fun. I've played it non-stop with my two teenage sons for the last 3 days and we're still having a great time with it. Single player and multiplayer off-line are both very engaging. No experience with on-line yet.

I will echo the comments from some others, however, in that while I am pleased with COD2, it should have been more. It's just a small step up from Halo on Xbox in terms of graphics and AI. For a next-gen platform and game I expected more. I hope the game makers come out with truly great games soon or I will feel like a dupe for making the Xbox 360 purchase.

I returned Perfect Dark after playing it for 30 minutes in disbelief. It played clunky, and felt cheesy. This game however runs smooth, loads fast, and feels Next Gen. I'm sure its just a taste of what the 360 can do. It really puts the fear into you like no other war game I've seen. For once you don't feel like your springing traps and triggering the action. If you have HD and Surround, this is really your only luanch title worth getting.
