This game has all the makeings of a great war combat, with great realistic graphic and realistic sound effect, and total destruction. This game contineus from part1, that is what contineued from the world war this game was so great and so fun that it was like you were actually in the war, call of duty is a great honor to those who fought in world war history, but this was a great game. The stages were unique and realistic and the weapons were great to, useing the tank was fun to in this game everything was fun in this game a complete war zone, this was a fun game.

Bugged game coupled with Worst AI in console history

First of all, Activision allowed a severely flawed game to be released. If you beat the tanks mission then save and exit, your save file will be corrupted and you will lose hours and hours of work. You must play through that mission and the next one in the same sitting in order to retain your progress.

Second, you have a computer-controled team assisting you, which is great, but the enemies don't shoot at them unless they are already out in the open, and YOU are nowhere in sight. If you are in sight, all enemies are shooting at you and you alone. A fun way to prove this is to wait until you get to a section of the game where there is a lot of shooting between both sides. Now run off and find a quiet spot to hide. After about 10 seconds, you will hear ALL SHOOTING STOP. Just walk back over into the area and allow yourself to be within eyeshot of where an enemy's un-hidden position. (yes, all enemies have ESP and can sense you through walls) When you do this, enemies will once again come out of the woodwork and start shooting again, but only at you of course.

I have found the best way to beat this game is to move on line with the rest of your squad, then strafe back and forth behind them, never firing a single shot. This makes sure the enemies keep popping up so your teammates can shoot them.

It is absolutely 100% possible to beat this game without firing a single shot. You just have to know how to manipulate the completely worthless AI.

Outstanding graphics, however... This is the only reason I give it 2 stars.

One flaw in multiplayer

The only flaw I can find in this game is that the multiplayer isn't very much fun. Playing locally with a friend means you just shoot him a lot while he learns the controls. No enemy AIs in the maps?

An Overlook of Call Of Duty 2

Over all I think COD2 is a great game. I'l catagorize the review into a couple of sections

Graphics- The graphics are truly amazing is your playing on a hi definition T.V. But if your not they are still good. You can practicly see the wrinkles on them and even some times there sweat. there faces are very detailed in all the next-Gen systems including the 360. But there is still the often dying with half of your body on 1 side of a wall and the other half on the other but that is the only downside to them.

Gameplay/Replay/fun/chalenge- As I said befor the game is great if your a gamer who is looking for a chalenge you hav to get this. I was at my friends house playin COD3 for the PS3 and COD2 is much better and much more chalenging. But unless you have XBOX live you probably wont be poppin this game once you beat it once so if you dont have XBOX live this game really aint worth it. But if you do your in for a treat. The gameplay on Xbox live is great. They have a large variety of maps to play on but you can only have 8 people in 1 match which lowers the amount of fun you have but its still great.P.S My gammer tag is stuffv777.

over all this is a great game.

really really good

Must Have Title

How much more can I say than what's already been said? The graphics are superb and the play is fluid. I would have liked to see us be able to drive a tank rather than just man a gun on a truck or fly an airplane but maybe in later releases we can. Like previous titles in the series the multiplayer lacks. Cooperative missions would be great in this game with one or several buddies. However, because I mostly listed my complaints doesn't mean this isn't a first rate game. A four player death match going in your living room will have you looking at the clock wondering how it's 3am already.

When you think next gen you think flashy graphics and stellar gameplay when look no futher though we've just entered the age of not bitching about how bad the graphics are now it just about the story and how the developers put there creation in effect well with all that this is the first game i've gotten the 360 i own and im surely not disappointed i was with perfect dark no get that game good looks bad gameplay and story buy it when its 35.00 then it worth it... the cod2 is the finest shooter and came be for many years to come with expansions hint hint developers the lobby for online play needs a little help and should learn for halo2 multiplayer...story is the main header and all compainies in need of a hit look at cod 2 for help and reference also stop making these ww2 games i think with this game there should no need for anymore and that the truth. the ai is awesome smart and dont stand in the way you like all other games *cough* Rainbow Six ......the guns feel geuniune and need to all be picked up and shot with.. sound is off the chain with the rattatta of machine guns and motar shell exploding every and there is no need for health packs thank god but they should have at least a medic helping out you instead of just running into the fray... sniping rocks and if you snip there are great level like the russian campain .. the english campain is the best it has it all... plus those brits are hillarious the commander and his right hand man mcgregor should have there own game... d-day is cool but and i don't say this often what about the blood in the water hello saw it in saving private ryan and the bodies were floating in the water just the little things that erk me and so should you i mean the game is 60.00 it should fully loaded with extras and offers but it was a little stale ...the game should be better with add-ons and hopefully the multiplayer gets better 9.8 out of 10... thats not freaking bad in my eyes and itching trigger finger... also my name on live is "LOGANX360"....GAME ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Great game here! I rented this game which I should have bought it instead of Perfect Dark Zero. It took me 2 days to beat it. But it was a good game and pretty long. Good to play as Russians, British AND the U.S. Good variety. The graphics were REALLY good, I liked them alot. The gameplay was also good, fighting along with comrads(haha). The guns were good, action top notch definately. Cool missions to do. I liked this game alot. One of the best games within the Xbox 360 launch easily! If you like World War games, like alot of actions, and something with lot of shooting, get this game! I think its worth the buy!

Graphics - 5/5
Gameplay - 5/5
Longetivity - 4/5

Let me just begin this review by going on record with the following statement: I'm just as sick of WWII first-person shooters as the next guy. Over the years, I've played so many of them that I feel like I could walk blindfolded from the beaches of Normandy all the way into downtown Berlin. Unfortunately, the bombed-out cities that served as arenas for some of the war's biggest battles have gradually blurred together into an unrecognizable grey mass. It just feels like we've seen the same things over and over again in these titles, yet people keep playing them for some reason.

While I'd be happy to see the WWII genre as a whole receive an honorable discharge, the fact of the matter is that some of the most innovative FPSs of all-time were associated with The Big One. The Medal of Honor series was the first to bring the war home, Battlefield 1942 let everyone in on the action, and the Brothers in Arms games made leaders out of players. However, it was Call of Duty that introduced "cinematic intensity" to the masses, assaulting their eyes and ears with the most realistic depiction of war ever seen in a video game. Now, Xbox 360 owners are getting a chance to experience the sequel, Call of Duty 2, a riveting and exciting game that already enthralled PC gamers last month.

Like the rest of the games in the series, Call of Duty 2 lets you see the war from several different perspectives. In the beginning, you'll play as a Russian soldier, doing battle in the bombed-out city of Stalingrad. Next, it's off to the North African deserts where you and the rest of the British Desert Rats will take on Rommel's famed Afrika Korps in both tank and ground combat. Finally, you'll storm the beaches of Normandy as an American, then battle your way deep into the French countryside. Although we're used to the series' lack of a real narrative, we were hopeful that there would be some sort of common thread running throughout the standalone missions.

Thanks to the Xbox 360's excellent controller, it won't take veterans of console first-person shooters very long to feel comfortable with the gameplay in Call of Duty 2. The default control scheme feels perfect right from the start, and there's a good chance that you'll be a genuine killing machine by the time you finish the brief tutorial that kicks off the game. You'll come to rely quite a bit on the triggers (which zoom and fire your weapon) and the two "bumpers" that control your smoke and frag grenades. While you'll find yourself using a lot of grenades throughout the game, your enemies will use even more, occasionally throwing littering the ground around you with them. Thankfully, there's a handy on-screen indicator that will show you where they are in relation to your position, allowing you to move a safe distance away.

The judicious use of grenades is just one way that your foes will attempt to outsmart you. More than just about any console game before it, the AI in Call of Duty 2 will do virtually anything to gain an advantage. You'll quickly come to realize that when they throw grenades, they aren't always trying to kill you. Instead, they may use them to draw you out into the open, where they can let their bullets do the work. If you're pinned down, you'll often see your foes hanging back for a moment before make some fairly advanced movements. They'll also react realistically to your attacks, moving to cover at the first crack of your rifle.

From the moment you begin the game, there's no doubt that Call of Duty 2 was designed to showcase the Xbox 360's power. The visuals are simply stunning, from the highly detailed textures to the smooth animations of the characters around you, and everything runs at a near-constant 60 frames per second. Sure, there are a few slowdowns here and there (especially during the perfectly-spaced autosaves), but you'll be so engrossed that you'll barely notice the blips. The weapons look particularly nice, too, especially when you use the iron sights to blow away your enemies.

As was the case with the other games in the franchise, Call of Duty 2 features some truly amazing sound effects. The guns rattle noisily when fired, each of them sounding completely unqiue. The voiceovers, though few and far between, are all very well done, particularly in the case of the Russian soldiers that are doing battle against "the facists." Rounding everything out is the game's score, which is just as sweeping and epic as any war movie.

Although the single-player campaign is fairly long, and offers a number of wide-open areas, Call of Duty 2 multiplayer action will be what keeps it alive for years to come. We've been testing the game for a few days now on Xbox Live, and while there are definitely some early problems with games being dropped, you'll have a blast when you're actually playing. In addition to Solo and Team Deathmatches and Capture the Flag, you'll be able to play objective-based games like Headquarters and Search and Destroy. Teams are definitely rewarded (with a win) for working together, something that's missing from many online games.

No matter how you feel about the WWII shooter genre as a whole, there's no denying that Call of Duty 2 is one of the finest FPSs ever created. Thanks to a combination of sharp visuals, teeth-rattling sound effects, and tricky enemy AI, you'll be on the edge of your seat from the moment you're dropped into combat until your dying breath. While there are still a few kinks to be ironed out on the online multiplayer side of things, you'll still have a great time playing with your friends.
