This game is WAY underated. For a first for sony, they did a kick Butt job on both the story line and game play. There are a few parts that confessed people, but it would not be a RPG with out confession now would there.

I am a huge RPG fan, and when I saw this item on [...], I had to get it. I've had this game in the past, and now that I have it again, I can relive all the time I spent playing it. Great storyline, awesome gameplay, and overall one of the top RPGs for playstation.

This game is the greatest RPG that I have ever played. Even though the graphics aren't that great the story line makes up for it. This is the only vid. game of mine that has beaten all of the FFs, it is Square Enix's only compotition for RPG's. The cut-sceans are often humorous, revieling the plot and secrets about all of the charactors. I would like for them to make a sequal, but i know that isn't going to happen. As I said the cut sceans are great, especally the aname-like videos. It is the best.

While the animation is sometimes sub-par, and the translation frankly amusing...
Example:
"I would LOVE to touch such rare treaures of intelligence!"
"all right.... but...Stop looking at me like that!"
^_^ But the characters are lovable and well thought, dynamic and oftentimes convulted. The plot..... WHEW. It goes forever, and is so richly detailed. Defineately one of the best for PS1. Here's hoping for a sequel!
Follow the storyLINE...

Legend of Dragoon is not just another RPG. The battle system takes two steps forward from the rest of the pack by adding an additions system. This system, involving timed button pushing, gives each character in the game a feel of their own. While it could use some tweaking, the battles are more exciting than most RPGs, and actually take time to master.
One of the most major problems in this game is the fact that there is literally nothing to do besides following the storyline. While there are a few blatently obvious ones, sidequests are absent in this game. Being a Final Fantasy fan, I also had trouble dealing with the straight line I was forced to walk between villages, leaving no room for exploration.
The storyline is interesting, but some situations seem forced (relationships, attitudes, etc.). One big downer is being able to figure out a major peice of the plot early on, and then having obvious clues shoved at you for the rest of the game. The ending is good, but could have been better. O yeah, the cutscenes great for PSX, but they are ruined by the absolutely horrible voicework (really, really, really bad).
A good game recommended only if you've revisited the FF series enough to be bored, and need better graphics than Breath of Fire III and IV.
An underestimated RPG

Legend of Dragoon was a good RPG. The battle system consisted of the traditional turn-based battles. Each charcter had 3 to 5 unique combos that you had to learn. Yes had to, without the combos fights are pretty futile. The boss fights are very fun to play and watch, as your charcters {as well as bosses} do flashy exagerated moves. That alone makes battles funner than your average RPG. The storyline is pretty original with its share of twists. All is not well however, for the game takes a serious downfall in character design. You'd find yourself thinking "haven't I seen him in another RPG?" To make matters worse, due to the characters wearing obvious colors, "via - Power Rangers" you'll know your future party members before they even join. This game kept me occupied for a good while. Characters didn't interest me, but the combo learning and flashy boss fights saved it.
Very Good RPG

While Legend of The Dragoon might not be a Final Fantasy killer like it was said, good RPGs are far away, so it's pretty hard to even find 3 great RPGs in a year. LOTD fails in some category's but the storyline is good but yet very simple. Most RPG fans MIGHT like this game (which is very good in my opinion). Sony tried hard and it really shows with a very creative battle system, why is at times frustrating, but when you pull off a long move , it's pretty cool. The Dragoon transformation is awesome and the attacks are also awesome as well. I recomend this game to any RPG fan, but if you're looking for a FF killer with a awesome storyline, like somewhere else. This game right here is a good RPG.

Hello, (...)this game is better then any other game that I've played! It's even better than the Final Fantasy series. There are hours and hours of game play. It has 3d scenes and clips. Not only that, THE CHARACTERS TALK DURING THEM! I can't exactly remember how many there were. This game is tough if you don't have gaming expierence. So if your a begginer with RPGs, you might not want to get it until you've had at least some expierence. In Legend of Dragoon, there are 7 dragoons. They have totally awesome magic. It is fun to use once you use it about once or twice. Each dragoon has 4 magics, but they begin out with only one. But as you play more, you get the others. I reccomend that you play this game above all games! So if you don't have it, hit the road and buy it!
