Great game but wrong plot

The best RTS game so far. I got a soupped up computer & the game is just amazing. Incredible soundtrack. BUT one thing that I have a problem with: the story. In this game, China is going after the terrorist org (which they attacked China for no reason)while the USA don't want to be part of. In the real world, it is COMPLETELY the opposite: the USA goes after the terrorist org while China is a country that doesn't wage war.

I bought this game a few months ago and I try to play it every night. I like how there is 3 differnet armys to choose from but I don't like the high requerments and there is GLA, China, and USA to choose from. With all the maps and online play, you will never have the same experence twice. I think anyone with the syestem requerments should by this game.

The world of rts games relies on an age old sytem of gathering resources, build a city, then defeating your enemy with an army. C&C Generals takes it one step farther with new modern day units and unbelievable graphics and sound. However enjoying this game as it was meant will require a powerful computer. WARNING: The system recomendations for this game are fairly low compared to what you will actually need to play it. Your are gonna need to have aP3 or P4 pumping out around 2+ Ghz. A 128mb Nvidia or ATI card is highly recomended.Additionally 512mb of ram makes the game run much smoother. However once you play it your eyes will thank you. The solo missions are a liitle un-challenging,but the awesome cut-scenes make up for it,however the real beauty of the game lies in the multyplayer modes. If you have a powerful enough machine and you are a fan of rts classics like: Warcraft series, C%C series, Rise of Nations, Age of Empires/Age of Mythology, then you MUST buy this game...you will not be dissapointed!

Of many of the strategy games I've played as a gamer this most definatly my favorite. This game relies less on resource managment and more on strait out action and combat. There are 3 different campaigns for each nationality (China which relies on nubmers, USA which relies on its more powerful vehicles and GLA which relies on its versitility although its the weakest of the 3 in my opinion.) Although I have yet to beat teh campain most of the fun is in the skirmishs taking on computer paleyrs, while initially it may be hard, once you grow accustmed to the way teh enemy's play you can easily beat them. This makes the game seem almost too easy, although I can't quite beat a hard enemy right now but this is the first I've played in awhile and I'm once again regaining my strategy, but I'm faily certain at one point I could beat teh ardest enemy difficutly with ease. What does all this mean? It means for a good challenge you'll eventually have to resort to online play leaving people on 56k to easily be left in teh dark (while I use broadband now I remember almost everything lagged in 56k.)
Very highly recomned for trs fans seeking fast paced action.

The graphics and sounds are really good. The game play is just fine (AI, maps, menus). I was waiting for a fun, realistic war game in RTS and I'm glad I waited. The GLA is right on the mark (even though it may offend some people, it's reality). I enjoy playing each of armies (USA, China, Terrorists/GLA). I've played the campaigns, and they are really good as well. I'm glad I bought this game and can't wait until my roommate purchases a better graphics card so we can play against each other.
Excellent game - but requires 2 CD's to play LAN multiplayer

Generals is a blast! The graphics are spectaculars, the sound effects are good, and the gameplay is tons of fun. I did all three campaigns all the way through.
However, I am unhappy that I can't play multiplayer with my son, because the greedy bums (Electronic Arts) require that you buy 2 copies of the game to do multiplayer.
Fun, fun, fun, fun

I've played every Command & Conquer game since the first one, and Generals blows them all away. The single-player campaigns are clever and challenging, and multiplayer is absolutely phenomenal--not just because it's a blast (which it is), but because it's SO easy to set up and play a game. No screwing around...it just works. (Quite refreshing compared to most multiplayer games.) Best of all, Generals' graphics are phenomenal. If you like to "blow stuff up real good," this is the game for you. (Okay, so the AI could be better, and purists will say this isn't really a "strategy" game. So what! Put aside your preconceived notions and just have fun!)

I have played alot of the c & c series and i must say this has been the best yet in terms of graphics having a more down to earth realistic plot (and units). This game is incredibly detailed and unlike other C & C games the three factions ( USA,China and the GLA all differ very much and Generals is the first game where the music is completly dependant on who you play with. Each side has ther own music withc reflects there place of descent the USA has a series of victorious military marches while the GLA and China both have music from there respectable origins. Another new aspect of this game is that when you construct a building the scofolding actually goes up and you can watch the building being built. Also a new feature that i liked was the process of making money. There are supplie docks around the map that you can build supply centers next to to collect supplies and turn it into money but beware the supplie docks do run out but each side has an alternet way to make money for the USA the supplies pad can be built (more than one if you want alot of cash) wich has about 2500 dollars worth of supplies dropped every 2 minutes for china they have hackers withc are infantry units wich can be deployed to hack the internet and get lots of money but there only good in large groups and finally the GlA has black markets wich generate a contant flow of cash but like the otheres you will neeed more than one to generate a reasonable amount of cash. Also each side has its own strenghs and weakneses and differant base defenses a new option too is the hero units. Each side has a unique hero unit for China its Black Lotus who can captur enmy buildings from afar and steal cash for the USA its the Gung-ho colenel Burton who can plant demolition charges on anything and can climb up the side of cliffs avoiding the base defenses and finally the GLAs hero unit is Jarmen Kell a mercanary fighter who has a sniper rifle and can snipe enemy pilots out of vehicles leaving them open to capture ::). There are oil derricks on here along with some other new tech buildings and you can build as many super weapons as your little finatical heart disires. Hope you get the game you wont be dissapointed.
Need a monster machine

This is a very entertaining game if you want instant gratification. Warning, you need a monster machine to run it with high detail. My 1.6 P4, 512 MB RAM, 64 MB GeForce 4 runs the lower res with no fancy graphics just fine. Anything more causes the game play to be a little choppy. I am upgrading to a better vid card and hope this will help. The visuals (particularly shadows and lighting) are stunning and there is no goofy plot to deal with. The only gripe I have is not being able to escape out of the mission briefings.
OK FAIR GAME

All sides are balanced, superb graphics, O.K. music, minimal lag, but 'some-to-a lot' lag exists during online gameplay depending on connection and computer speed. AI is good, despite what others say. All three campaigns are a bit short! Disappointment! You can't build walls or sandbags! You can't make trenches or alterate the terrain! No navy! BUT Overall, good game!!! ...
