C&C Generals when looked at as a whole is a good, solid, fun game. It is the first graphicaly pleasing C&C game, besides Renegade which really wasnt a RTS. It finally put new life into the C&C line that Tiberium Sun and Renegade didn't. The game play has a different feel, with in game cut scenes looking much like Warcraft III and Age of Mythology. Yet it still keeps its own style with some differences from the last C&C game. However, C&C Generals may have become a bigger title then it deserved from all the hype. Don't expect this to be a revolutionary type of game, it sticks to the basics that it has used for years, nothing extremely different or new. And to view it at its best you will need a good rig. Its a good RTS, like I said, solid, and if your a fan of the previous C&C games or if you like RTS styled games I would recomend it.

I first played this game with my friend at a computer store. We found it quite easy to get a grip on as it is easy instructions. We found it to be highly enjoyable, and have been talking about it ever since then. Although there are only three armies to choose from, they have an extremely wide variety of technology. I always play as China, and my friend plays as USA. We tried the GLA but thought they were cr4p.
Poor concept, Poor execution

EA should never have tried to improve upon a series that's so different from there normal field of work. Insulting to the C&C series, this game has poor graphics, music, and none of the trademark realtime videos (who doesn't want to see Jessica Alba leaning over to the camera with a low-cut tank, to talk about battle strategy?) But my biggest conflict with this game is the whole GLA concept. I mean who wants to play a bunch of focking camel-jockies with their suicide crapola and false-sense of dignity?
This game rocks!!!

I bought this game a few months ago and I try to play it every night. I like how there is 3 different armys to choose from but I don't like the high requerments and there is GLA, China, and USA to choose from. With all the maps and online play, you will never have the same experence twice. I think anyone with the syestem requerments should buy this game.
Worthy Buy!

I don't usually purchase computer games, (usually borrow from friends, play for a week or two until I get tired, and give back), however, Generals is an exception, having been a fan of the Command and Conquer franchaise, this was a natural step, the new units are great, the gameplay is well polished, the minor bugs have been fixed in the subsequent patchs, all in all, if you're looking for a good RTS, or have a hankering for modern warfare, look no further
Well....

I have to disagree with dudeman on this game. This is VERY different than the other C&C games there are! First off, the game is much more modern than all of the other C&C games. Second, this IS NOT the first C&C 3-D game. Renegade is very much so 3-D! Third, every game has it flaws, and if he expects this or any game to be perfect, than stop gaming! Every game begins to get old! (That is why you play online!) I do agree with him that building like 7 paladin tankes and launching them against your enemy will easily destroy them.
Personally, I liked this game alot! Buy it if you like real-time warfare!
fun but really easy...

well, i played at a friend's house and i find the game to be quite fun. Although the AI might need some work. i started the second mission, waiting for the AI to attack, but what do i get one or two suicide bombers running toward my gattling guns. it's a fun game, even though is on the easy side, i suppose it's best for online gaming, which would provide some more challenge.

Command & Conquer: Generals, excels beyond its predecessor Command & Conquer releases. Generals gives you the opportunity to choose between 3 sides: United States, China, and the Global Liberation Army. Each has their own distinct units, and way of fighting (of course)...and in addition, as each unit racks up kills, they receive promotions. The higher they rank, the better features and skills they posess.
One downside to this version is the view. It goes for a ground-level approach, rising and lowering with the altitude, and slightly zooming in/out as you scroll toward your units or opposing units. This interferes with the gameplay slightly, but you soon get used to it.
Overall: a thrilling addition to the Command & Conquer family, with mind-blowing graphics and sounds.
