Command and Conquer: Generals

Overall, the game is a pretty good buy. The armies each have a unique feel and play differently. The battlefields interact with your units, trees crash down as tanks roll by and civilians run screaming from your forces. The animated explosions can be spectacular, and combat is very dynamic, it doesn't drag at all. The skirmishes are very fun to play, but the campaigns are rather lacking. There are practically no plotlines, and most missions simply require you to destroy the enemy base. I was able to use the same simple strategy to beat 5 out of the 7 GLA missions.
The game designers obviously took alot of influence from the movie Blackhawk Down. Not only are many of the missions very reminiscent of the situations in the movie, but some of the music in the game seems to be lifted from the movie's soundtrack. However, the music in the game is actually pretty good.
While I wasn't bothered by the fact that one of the armies were terrorists, I think that Generals takes it too far in the campaign. The last mission ends with a captured ICBM fitted with bio-weapons being launched at an American city. This seemed very disturbing that they would include that considering the current state of the world.
Despite this, I think it's a great game for the money you pay, provided that your system can handle the requirements.

To tell you the truth, I'm flat out dissappointed. With all the hype I've been hearing about this game and how excited I was leading up the game coming out to buy it and play it is just unbelievable what I saw. The graphics are poor, maybe a little better than previous Command and Conquers. And you need so many requirements on your pc to make the game run the way it should. Overall I'm highly highly disspointed. And as a matter of fact I've already sold the game to a buddy of mine. So do yourself a favor and borrow it from a friend and check it out before you go and blow 40 bucks on a game thats worth about 10.

i am a huge, ea fan and i loved battlefield, fifa, and other games, but they surprised me , because i expected something good, not something this GREAT i love this game, it beats the hell out of warcraft 3 as...far as 3d strategy is concerned and i like blizzard too, warcraft 3 was a dissapoiuntement

I love this game! My favorite army is the GLA. Even though they don't have much in the technology field, they still mange to be a formidable opponent.

It a very interesting games, the missions are very nice, and the unites are diverse, but it is somhow slow, especially, if you run it on an old computer

Generals is one of the best games I have ever played. With the enhanced online play, realistic audio and high-res graphics, you have a complete balance of perfection. Play with or against your friends online to a variety of maps that you can manipulate to your liking using the included editor, or download new maps from others. You can choose to be the US, China or a terrorist group, taking advantage of each different style and weapons. If you like to build...and blow stuff up, Generals is the game for you!

I think this is a great game. Yes, back in 1992, we had the same bug issues that we have now, but hey, the Single Player is about the best game I have ever played. And a great inclusion to this game is the Ranking system which allows you to get upgrades by being promoted. I don't know if this was included in any other C&C game, but I know that it is an outstanding idea. With the added up graphics, incredible Single Player, and the so-so Multiplayer, this is my favorite RTS game of the year so far! :)

It's a great game but a lot of system requirements. The game only let you play if you have an nVidia GEForce2 or an ATI Radeon 7500 video card. If you have another one you can play even if you have the latest drivers of your video card. For me, it's a monopoly. So, I bought the game and now I have to buy a video card because the game is not running with my configuration. Always gets: "Sorry, an error has ocurred..." or something like that. So when you do all the thing in the tech support of EA, a new message box appear blaming overheating hardware, or virus or video card problem. So, I think you have to buy a new computer with the video card that they say so you can play the game. Bless you if you have te video card that they say before you buy this game. Please Review very carefull all the things... IF YOU DON'T HAVE A NVIDIA GEFORCE2 OR ATI RADEON 7500 AT LEAST, YOU CANT PLAY THIS GAME.

By the way, the game looks great, buy how do I know? It looks like in the back of the box... it seems to be great game... USA an its allies against CHINA o something like that....

I was gonna give to the game 1 star for the system requirements, but the pics in the back of the box makes me give it two star... maybe two and a half stars.
