This game is really good. I've had it since january 1st and it's been really nice so far. first, the wifi which is what EVERYONE wants to know about.
Pros:
It's so much fun to be able to play with other people!
You can have 4 pages of friends
It's easier to complete sets of furniture and items!
Collect all the fruit really easily!
You can chat with the people who come!
Not anyone can enter and destroy your town :P
There's alot more too, get the game yourself!
Cons...
Both of you have to have each other's friend code (which can be a good thing sometimes)
There are now hackers who can destroy your gate (so you can't use wifi)
The connection can lag and drop out sometimes...
Only two people in a building at one time.
there's a little more but once again, it's worth it! get the game for yourself!
overall game:
Pros:
It's animal crossing! :P
You can make your own house with 600+ items to choose from
walk around town and hang out with the animals!
You can get an animal's picture if they like you enough.
Tom nook doesn't sell clothes anymore! (more room for furniture!)
There's a hairdresser named hairret and lots of new styles!
You don't have to wear that hat anymore :P
animals can come over your house now!
you wont see animals repeating the same old stuff as much!
and once again, alot more!
Cons...
It can be boring at first since you have to do jobs for tom nook
Animals have a chance of starting to move whenever you use wifi
To me, it's harder to get a perfect town.
So far, Nook has horrible turnip prices :P
it's harder to fish with the stylus (so just use the control pad!)
same with insects...
not that many cons overall!
Overall, this is a great game, get it. To some people who like "easy games" if you really want a big house, this is not the game for you. It takes time to pay off your dept! (my friend got this game to wifi with me and took it back a few weeks later because it was "too hard to pay off the dept") anyways, it's an awesome game.

This game is awesome. Even as a 12 year old girl, I can still have fun with this game. I would recommend it for 8 and older. Adults can even have fun with the little talking animals. I would recommend it for 8 and over because it's a involved game in which you can't pick it up and expect to understand it right away. It requires knowledge with reading and is even economical. You have to pay off your house loan and you keep paying off loans until you get a huge house. All of the characters have their own unique personality, so you never get bored. And when there's nothing else to do, you can always fish or catch bugs. The only tiny problem is that you have to constantly play it. I didn't play it for a week and there were some cockraoches in my house. But it's not a big deal because when you weigh the pros and cons, the pros win. Overall, I would definatly recommend this because it's the best game ever!!!
Took me by surprise.

I just got my ds for christmas and i wanted to know which games were the best for the ds. So i picked up mario kart and mario 64 and they were both great games, then i post on gamespot.com's forums which game i should get next. they keep telling me animal crossing. I havent played the gamecube version at all. So i eventually bought it (it took me a couple of weeks because it was all sold out everywhere). A couple of minutes into the game, it was very fun. It surprised me how good it was.
Graphics 5/5 These have to be one of the best games from a graphical standpoint of view. They are realistic, but there cartoony which i kind of like.
Controls 5/5 There are two sets of controls use the stylus or use the d pad with the a,b,x,y buttons. I perfer the stylus. its really easy to get into.
Sound 5/5 the sound is excellent in the game. From the crushing of the snow to the calm sound of the ocean. If you are annoyed by the animal talk that they have or the music that i dont mind, you can just simply turn down your volume.
Fun 5/5 As we all know the original animal crossing from what ive heard is very addicting. Its the same concept here. Its pretty much the exact same game from the gc version and the same storyline. You are a human sent to this animal town. you work for this guy nook cranny that builds you a house and you have to pay the morgage. Along the way you met new animal friends and you can fish, catch bugs, and dig fossils, and upgrade your hous. Eventually you do run out of things to do everyday so you are only going to play this game 1-2 hours a day at the most. The best feature about this game is the wifi. Its pretty fun, you can visit your friends house or your friend can visit yours. You can have up to 4 ppl in one town. Animal Crossing for the Ds is a really good game. I reccommend you buy it for any DS user.
8 and 10 year olds love it

My kids (boy aged 10 and girl aged 8) both love this game. My son is normally into Star Wars type games and my daughter is not interested in computer type games at all, but they both play this game alone and together. I especially like the fact that they can play at the same time with each other without fighting! They can take their DS's with them in the car, on an airplane, waiting at the doctor's office.
In the game, the kids construct their own world and "earn" money in the form of "bells" by catching fish or harvesting fruit, etc. They invest their bells and purchase goods. They deal with insurance and even mortgages. The game involves quite a bit of reading as characters interact with the kids. How many third graders can spell "mortgage" or even know what one is? It is not an educational game, by any means, but it does introduce a few real-world financial concepts.
Great Fun Game!

This is a very fun game. This is my first animal crossing game and it is the game I play the most on my DS Lite. This is not one of those games you will want to play for hours at a time, because everything goes in real time. For example if you plant a tree, it doesn't just appear. It takes a week to fully grow. Also stores open and close in real time. I usually play this game about 10-15 minuets every day. I get on to check my mail, see what Nooks (the store) has for sale, and maybe fish for a few minutes to kill time. I haven't tried the WI-FI feature on this game yet, but it sounds like it's cool, except you can't just go to anyone's town. You have to have their friend code. (you have to know them). Over all this is a great game. It's well worth the money!

My seven year old daughter fell in love with this game. However, when you forget to save correctly when turning the game off, a horrible little mole comes out. It tells my child she is dumb, a punk, and dirt. It got to the point that she would cry if she forgot to save correctly, knowing this horrible little mole would come out. I have no idea why a child's game would include such an unforgiving character. What child hasn't forgotten to save a game correctly. Especially considering every other game on her Nintendo can simply be turned off when she is done. We finally sold this game, not being able to put up with the horrible rants of this little character. I do not recommend this mainly due to this aspect. Otherwise, the game is great. But, it is just so upsetting that this had to be added to a child's game. Beware the nasty mole!

Animal crossing is so fun! You can build your town how ever you want and it teaches you how life is with animals! At first you can get a job. You can meet every one that is in your town and invite people to your town and other animals move and leave your town and one time I got a lion in my town! You can grow fruit in your town too!
~Cool!!!!!! Yippeee~

I've read many reviews of this game. I'll try not to be redundant. The ability to customize to your interests is a plus. However, the players' manual that comes with the DS version is not very helpful. To fully realize this game's potential, you have to get the Animal Crossings Player's Guide to start playing right away. The small player's booklet was not helpful.
This is why I didn't give it the full 5 stars. The large players' book is an extra $10+ depending on where you are buying it.
That being said, the game shows it's originality from the time you step out of the cab. This of course is a plus.
This Game Rocks!!!

I only played this for about 40 minutes, but from that time, I still know this game rocks!!!
In the beginning, you are riding with Kapn'(I am not sure if that's how you spell it) and he asks you some questions. Be sure to listen to him; the way you answer the questions determines what you look like. Anyways, when he's done talking to you, he drops you off at the town hall. Then you go inside and meet the mail clerk. She gives you a map and tells you to go to your new house. You start out with a candle on a box, a radio, and a bed, which is upstairs. You can't in the upstairs room though (i wonder why?). Then you have to work for Tom Nook, meet your neighbors, and after you can do whatever, you just have to make your house payment.
This is a great game to put on your wishlist for Christmas, but don't plan on opening it on Christmas Eve; it is sold out everywhere, even online, and I have no idea if they'll have it in stock by Christmas or not. Anyways, Happy Holidays, and if you get this, I can guarantee you will love it!!!!!
