I absolutely love it! It's like real life. You have to pay off your mortgage with "bells" (Animal Crossings money) you buy and sell things, make friends, etc. I never played the GameCube version, but this one is awesome! I can never put it down. You can connect with your friends on Nintendo Wi-Fi and chat with them. You can use the stylus or the buttons to move around and talk to people. Sending letters is a fun way to communicate with people in town. But don't say anything too personal because they show it to others. You can have more than one person saved on the game. Like if you have brothers and sisters that want to play, they can use it without ruining your saved game!
In my opinion it's an awesome game. I think it's worth picking up a copy and checking it out.
Divorced - Bonding with my 7 Year Old Daughter

After my ex-wife spent two years trying to damage my relationship with my 7 year old daughter, I was looking for something my daughter loved that I could share with her. After a few months of her telling me how much she loved this game and that she really wanted to be able to visit a friend's town through the wireless connection, I purchased this game. I thought it would be a bonding experience for us. It was a great decision. Not only has it been more of a bonding experience than I could have ever imagined, I have also enjoyed playing the game. The game is extremely interactive. There are a lot of characters and many different things to do and accomplish in the game - and new things continually show up.
My daughter and I have enjoyed visiting both of our towns and sharing new experiences with each other. The game does slowly get monotonous after awhile (6-8 months for us) but even then you don't want to completely stop because you know eventually something new will show.
I wouldn't recommend this for the average adult but if you are looking for something fun to do with your child that can be a bonding experience on their level - this is a great option.
I loved this game!!!

This is easily my favorite DS game. I've had it for about three months and I don't think I've EVER skipped a day of playing it. Yes, it is very addictive. No, I'm not one of those geeks who plays videos for hours on end. It is best if you only play for limited amounts a day, because it ISN'T one of those were you end up playing it for six consecutive hours. If you keep coming back there will be new jobs, neighboors, weather, bugs, fish, and even some random special characters that give special items. You can become friends with the neighboors, expand the size of your house, and shoot down presents from the sky. I could go on and on about this great game, but there is just to much to explain from this game that never ends. Altough it may sound boring in words, AC:WW is an outstanding game that you will never get tired of.
Another Great Game

Animal Crossing is by far the best simulation game for the Nintendo systems. It's highly addictive even though the tasks do get repetitive. The NPC (non-playable characters) are great, each with their very own distinct personalities. This sequel to the orginal Gamecube game is better than the orginal. The character have more depth, and tend not to have as many repetitive conversations as in the orginal. The wifi options are also amazing! I love Animal Cross and can't wait to see what is in store for AC in the next Nintendo system!

My 10 year old daughter is addicted to this game. Unlike many others who now live somewhere lost in the void of her room, this one goes with her constantly. She plays it as often as she can (which come to think of it, may not be a good thing?).
Kids love it

Both my kids love this game. I have a son 12 and daughter 7 and they both love it. I wish there were more games out there to satisfy both my kids.
I would recommend this game to anyone with a child over 5 years of age.
For the creative types

I got this for my daughter (7) for Christmas after reading the reviews. She loves it! My other kids have asked for their own memory sticks so they can make their own games too.
You make your own character, get a house, work, interact with different characters along the way to places and it keeps growing and expanding the more you play it.
If you like to create your own worlds and not just play games, you'll love this game.

Having recently purchased this game, I was worried at first that I wouldnt like it. However I have found it to be a highly enjoyable game, for all ages. The game play is very simple and when you first start, they disquise the start of a game from seeming like a tutorial, even though thats what it is.
Its a game you can either play for hours on end, or just a few minutes every day, depending upon your preffered play style. There is always something to do. The only thing I would suggest making different, is making the actual towns bigger then what they currently are.
