This game ROCKS! The graphics may not be as good as the ones for the playstation version. But the game itself is much better. the bottom line is buy it. You will not regret it

This is the 2nd best game ever. It comes so close to the NO. 1 spot, held by WWF Wrestlemania 2000. I have played the playstation version and this is a direct switch between consoles, meaning they are identicle, except the 64's one does not have loading time! Similar to someone in another review I read, I played this game so much my thumbs were blistered. That shows the absolute greatness of it. Do you what's bad about this? I'll tell you: AMAZON.COM can't ship it to Australia yet. AAAAAAAAAAAAH. I need it quick, help me. If you don't already have this game get it, now, unless, ofcourse you're waiting for Tony Hawks 2 which looks set to knock Wrestlemania of it's perch at NO. 1.

Considering all the games I have, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is probably the most extreme and fun game I've ever experienced. The reason why it's a good game, is because there's always new tricks to try at and new levels to open. It's one of those games where you don't stress over the objectives in the game. For example you can stay in front of the TV playing for hours, basically having FUN! The only downside is that you need a Memory Card to save your progress in the game(like most games). It's still beyond fun if you don't have a memory card, but it doesn't allow you to start at levels or characters you left off at(like the secret character-but you'll figure that out yourself). Don't worry about spending an extra few bucks on a Memory Card, because it's well worth it. In general Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is worth buying itself. Even if you're not into skateboarding, it's still very fun. Let's hope they have a game as good as this for Nintendo Gamecube!
I love Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, but I hate the N64 version

First I will discuss the pros of this version- good graphics(for Nintendo), alot of action, great multiplayer mode, good sound track, very addicting.
Cons- 1.While the graphics were good, your player can go in the wall, and once my brother's player went right through the wall and got stuck inside the wall! He couldn't get out for the whole match! And there is alot of pop-up( espeshily in San francisco, Miami, Phoenix, and Miniapolis.)
2.The c buttons on the Nintendo 64 controller are too cloce and too small, making it hard to do combos.
3. THEY TOOK OUT THE BLOOD AND THE SWARE WORDS IN THE SONGS( some songs don't have any words in them, because they censore the whole song!) Now, taking out the sware words may not sound so bad, but they don't just censore the sware words, they remove the whole paragraph of the song where they sware, which makes the songs very short! And taking out the blood is very dumb!
4. They shorten the levels a lot on two player.
5. They don't have any real movies in the game( In the Dreamcast and Playstation versions, there are real videos of the characters doing tricks.)
6. The characters don't have very good graphics( their faces look like big blurs.)
7. After playing the game for twenty minutes, the controls changed, so I had to reset the game to get them back to normal, and sometimes they didn't turn back to normal.
I have played all three versions of this game (Dreamcast, Playstation, Nintendo 64) and have come to the conclusion that this is the cheapest one. If you have all three systems and are wondering which version to buy, get Dreamcast's version. But if you only have nintendo, buy this version, you won't be dissipointed.( it is cheap compared to the Playstation and Dreamcast versions.)
THIS GAME ROCKS!

I love THPS. I have it on Game Boy, Playstation, and Nintendo 64. The stages are fun-packed and the characters rock. I also like the options which you choose from. I hope Tony Hawk Pro Skater comes out on Playstation 2, X-Box and Dolphin. IT ROCKS!

Probably the most inovative game in terms of game play, exitement, and replayablity to ever come out for the N64.
Where all other skateboarding games have fail before, Tony Hawk takes flight by providing the player with the thrill and exhilleration of skateboarding...without skateboarding.
The main reason this game excels over all other boarding games is game play. The fact that the controls are feel like a natural extension of one hand, rather than learning how to type all over again.
The graphics are great if you have the memory expansion pack, and passable if not.
The music will obviously not be as good as the playstation version because of the memory constraints, but it's not that tinky MIDI stuff, it is lower samples of CD music.
If you haven't already heard, go buy this game.
