This game has control that has a HUGE learning curve, and is still difficult to handle! And don't give me anything about "Not playing it enough.". I've played it for about 5 hours straight and I don't get any better. But then again, I can kick *** in games like Perfect Dark and Super Mario 64.
The graphics are two thumbs WAY down, and this game was made for intellectually challenged people who stupidly try to imitate professional skaters and end up breaking their neck. Ha!
Overall, the control ruins this game.
It SUCKS

I am a majar time skateboarder and when I saw my pal with thegame and not letting em play, I HAD to buy it. Once I got to Wal-Martand saw it, I was delighted. The next day, I looked at it in disgust...If you have a stong taste in games, don't get this with its horrible game play, bad story, and old time graphics.
this game stinks don't buy it!

Finally a skateboarding game for N64, and it's ...! This isnothing like the PlayStation version. First off, the music is .... It is just repetive. Second off, the sound affects are nothing compared to the PlayStation one (I would give the PlayStation one 5 stars). Buy it if you don't have a PlayStation, but if you have a PlayStation, buy it for PlayStation.
Is That Tony Hawk?

Okay. This game ... If you think this game is good, play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and see what you think after that. This game lacks good graphics and doesn't have enough tricks to keep you awake. I mean, come on! One lip trick?! Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 has plenty of lip tricks, grab tricks, flip tricks, and specials. Plus, on Pro Skater 2 you have the ability to decide what tricks are performed for which button. If you are a true Tony Hawk fan, don't get this game. It will upset you to much.
A bit easy

Tony Hawks Pro Skater I thought was a cool game when I first played it. But when I got it myself I realized that this game is way to easy to beat and the point values are [messed up]. For example a kickflip is worth 100 points but so is a 360 degree spin. I know from experience in real life that a kickflip is much easier than a 360 degree ollie. The fun part of this game is multiplayer. You actually get to do something challenging for once. I would recomend getting Tony Hawks Pro Sk8er 2. It is a bit more challenging.
A great game, but should you buy it?

This game is rather interesting and unlike so many other games being put out. And, for many gamers, that is a good enough reasom to buy something: novelty. But, you must think about this further before really buying it yourself. Yes, it is very fun for a while. In fact, you SHOULD rent it once. But while you are playing and thinking "wow this is awesome," stop and ask yourself, "will it be fun tomorrow, the day after that, and so on?" It might very well be that your answer is yes, then you should buy it. But really, I think most people would say, "no." I have played all of the versions of this game and I personally don't like it. A lot of my friends seem to like it, but I just don't get it. You will from day one on, be doing the same thing. Maybe in new places and that may be enough for you, but think about it before you buy it. This is, however, the problem with all sports games though, isn't it?
I love Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, but I hate the N64 version

First I will discuss the pros of this version- good graphics(for Nintendo), alot of action, great multiplayer mode, good sound track, very addicting.
Cons- 1.While the graphics were good, your player can go in the wall, and once my brother's player went right through the wall and got stuck inside the wall! He couldn't get out for the whole match! And there is alot of pop-up( espeshily in San francisco, Miami, Phoenix, and Miniapolis.)
2.The c buttons on the Nintendo 64 controller are too cloce and too small, making it hard to do combos.
3. THEY TOOK OUT THE BLOOD AND THE SWARE WORDS IN THE SONGS( some songs don't have any words in them, because they censore the whole song!) Now, taking out the sware words may not sound so bad, but they don't just censore the sware words, they remove the whole paragraph of the song where they sware, which makes the songs very short! And taking out the blood is very dumb!
4. They shorten the levels a lot on two player.
5. They don't have any real movies in the game( In the Dreamcast and Playstation versions, there are real videos of the characters doing tricks.)
6. The characters don't have very good graphics( their faces look like big blurs.)
7. After playing the game for twenty minutes, the controls changed, so I had to reset the game to get them back to normal, and sometimes they didn't turn back to normal.
I have played all three versions of this game (Dreamcast, Playstation, Nintendo 64) and have come to the conclusion that this is the cheapest one. If you have all three systems and are wondering which version to buy, get Dreamcast's version. But if you only have nintendo, buy this version, you won't be dissipointed.( it is cheap compared to the Playstation and Dreamcast versions.)
It was a pretty good game

I do not own this but have rented a few times. I find the graphics are good and the quality of the game is good. If you are just learning the game it is hard to figure out every thing and the really good tricks are harf to pull off with the controller. But overall it is not that bad
What's up with the music??

As a mom who bought the game for my 7-year-old son for Christmas I have to say how disappointed I am with the rating on it as appropriate for ages six and up. The graphics and game itself look interesting and "wholesome" enough, but what is up with the psycho-music? And "psycho"-something illegible that rhymes with "itch" is the gist of the entire soundtrack that I have heard. It's really pathetic that the designers can't think of something else to skate to except this intense, pulsating, nerve-wracking (is it punk, heavy-metal, rap?) noise. Needless to say, I've "sent it back to the North Pole" to exchange it for something milder and more child-friendly!
