I rent THPS this weekend and confirmed what my skate friends had been saying all along, this was an AWESOME game! The graphics are incredible, the sounds are ultra-realistic and the music is what skaters live for! The music was my favorite part probably, the tunes are jamming from track 1 to 10, really great sounds. Thanx activision, you guys have a winner here

This game is really good the graphics are awesome and the 1 Player Game is great! The gameplay lasts almost forever. It takes a while to get used to the game but when you do it's the best!

This is the coolest game ever made!

This game is the bomb! if u luv skateboarding and skateboarding games as much as I do , GET THIS game. u will NOT be disappointed. it has tight songs, kewl levels, like a Chicago skatepark , etc. it allows you to choose the skateboard, bearings, trucks, etc. u want . keep collecting tapes to unlock new levels. I am a 14 yr. old girl and i love this game. this is the reason i wanted an N64, to play this game. All my friends and I have this game. I like how you can choose your skaters, like Tony Hawk, Bucky, Jamie Thomas (I am like in love with Jamie Thomas! ) , etc. anyways, it features alot of really kewl and talented skaters you can choose to be. It has single or 2 player games. This game rocks, it rules, it's the bomb. what more can i say? except GET IT! you'll luv it as much as I do.

A Perfect Game

I've been playing video games for approximately 20 years and this game rates as one of the best I have ever experienced.

I was a huge skate freak back in the late 80's and even had the first Tony Hawk model board to prove it. Back then we had Skate or Die for the commodore 64 and 720 at the arcade for our dose of video game skate action. Those games were sweet for their time, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater follows that tradition and does even better.

Completely skateable worlds, tons of tricks, tons of challenges, a groovin soundtrack -- the people that made this game knew what people wanted.

When I first popped the game in, I fell in love with the ability to skate a virtual half-pipe in a virtual skatepark. Even though it took quite a few glances into the instruction booklet to figure out the moves, it was gratifying to see my skater perform picture-perfect airs and grinds that looked like they were straight out of a skate magazine. When I made my way to other levels, I loved the fact that they were setup so you could do anything a real skater would do in that particular setting. Ramp transfers, ollies to grinds on rails, handplants -- it is all there.

Other game developers could learn a huge lesson from this game -- it's all about making it real and making it fun. They convinced an old dog (25) that hasn't touched a board in years that skating will always be cool.

The only thing more I can say is WOW!

Ehh it's alright...

Ok, the bottom line for this game is it's incredibly fun, but, for the N64, there are only skateboarding and snowboarding xtreme sports games. WHERE'S THE AGGRO SKATING! That has nothing to do with THPS but I give it five stars anyway.

Best Game Ever

This is the best game ever. If your a skater or not it doesn't matter. The first time I played played it I was hooked. I can't wait for it to come out on Nintendo 64.

Just the best. There's no end to this game. Totally realistic skateboarding (okay, maybe "realistic" isn't the word, but who wants to see themselves falling down without ever doing a trick?) and pretty good blood effects.

The creators seem to have thought of every detail, from choosing your deck to choosing how tight you want your truck. And kudos to T. Hawk himself, for being honest enough to make his character unable to sustain a grind!
