I think that they a real goog job when they put Resident Evil 2 on the market for N64. It has some of the best graphics I have ever seen for an N64 game. It is such a good game, I continually
keep playing,no matter how many times I have beat it. The way they make the characters in the game is really extremely great.
The game makes you really think and get into it, because if you
don't payextremely close attention to it you get lost through the game. I hope you can put out mpre games like this one, because it makes N64 more fun to play.

I really enjoyed playing Resident Evil 2: first of all, the graphics are outstanding., second, the gameplay is great., third, the storyline is the best for N64. Thats why I'm not surprised that there were more Resident Evils out there. It doesn't blow my mind that it became a major blockbuster movie. See for yourself!!!!
If you are a blood sucking maniac, this is for you.

Awesome. This is definitley one of the best games ever created. At times the third person view makes it difficult to control, but it allows for truly awesome cinemas. If you are squeamish, stay away, There are more zombies in this game than in The Mummy's family tree.
Good but not Great

I have played this many times for the N64 and recently picked up a PSOne. This game is still a very good game but I suggest the playstation version. I just bought the playstation version today and the graphics are a little better and the music/sound effects are much better. Now for the N64 version:
I have to say, this game is quite gorey but hey, that's what I like. This is sort of a action/horror/RPG game. It has very complex puzzles and it really works your mind. When I rented this the first time and had no clue what the hell was lurking behind me or around the corner, I was scared as hell! I played it at 10:15 at night, of course so I was prone to be scared. Wouldn't you be scared. I just got to the part with the skinless creature with the razor sharp tounge. Luckly I defeated him with the shotgun. He wasn't all that hard, but I got scared and I'll tell you why:
I was walking up to the door and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this red thing walking outside past the window. I heard this noise and I said, "Oh my god I am going to die."
Seriously, that was a pretty scary moment. Anyway, the graphics are exceptional for the N64 but playstation are better. The music/sound effects are better on the playstation but are acceptable on the N64. There are two people you can pick and two difficulty settings. Pretty nifty. There is a violence setting where you can have it high, medium or low. Kids under 10, I suggest low. High is pretty bad when you die. Medium is average.
Worth your money but I suggest getting the playstation version of it.
Fantastic!

It's games like this that make me sad the N64 has become defunct. The N64 version is probably the finest version of this fantastic game. Smooth controls (once you get used to it) is combined with awesome graphics to create a bone-chilling atmosphere of terror and foreboding. The abilities of the N64 system are pushed to the limit. This game will scare you, like no other game. It's designed to do that. The zombies and the world that RE2 creates is too realistic for comfort. You'll feel like you're constantly clawing for survival with bloody fingers. After RE2, you will have a whole new appreciation for the word "zombie". The game also brilliantly integrates the games of its two playable characters. Instead of simply making a girl and a boy character with identical storylines, the storyline of Claire and Leon beautifully complement each other to create a single, coherent tale of terrifying survival. Of course, you'll have to finish the game as one character first, then the other character's "B-game" will be available for play, complementing the events of first character's "A-game". This is without a doubt one of the finest N64 games ever.

ok now heres a game with no fear thats on the nintendo. And is not afraid to go up against the all mighty Play Station.this game is so scary it'll make you wet your pants im serious the tension is so incredibly high. that you WILL wet your pants or stand up while your playing the game. I rented it at my friends house and we kept on arguing about who should play first.Zombies just jump out at you and it takes a lot of shots to kill them.
This game is definetly superb and high on my top ten game list.
Advisory: contains Strong Violence, Gore, and some sexual content/mature content.

The graphics are beautiful (hi-res 640x480-better than PS1), but the game didn't scare me. It relies upon B-grade horror, like zombies jumping out from behind doors, and that level of story-telling doesn't scare me.
I prefer "intellectual horror" like you'd find in a Hitchcock film. Games like Eternal Darkness, Clock Tower 3, and Silent Hill. Those are the kinds of games that mess with your psyche & truly scare you.

Resident Evil 2 for the Playstation always has and always will be one of my favourite games, so I was incredibly excited to see that it had come out for the N64. After having played it I was happy to see that they had the FMVs more or less, but the game just didn't feel right with the 64 controller, and the idea of changing the colour of the blood is all fine and dandy for Turok but it has no place in Resident Evil. Also Nintendo has seen it fit to make this game less dark and dreary than the Playstation version which I think was a poor choice. If you only own a N64 and want to play a survival horror game rent it, if you don't care about survival horror much or own a Playstation or Dreamcast don't even bother looking at this game.
