Why this game is better than the average 64 game

Resident Evil is the #1 game to buy or rent if your in for a good scare. Not only very graphical but the story of the game is pretty good too. Every one that I have played and beat,(which is all of them) has suprised me in many ways. If you like to play a game that is terrifying and fun this is the game.

It's quite difficult, too. There's a secret at the first part of the game where you can fight the zombie of Brad Vickers at the police station. Brad is the pilot of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, and he gets killed by the Nemesis in RE3 toward the beginning. Now he's a zombie. If you run through the whole first part of the game up until the police station without getting any items, he'll be down the stairs under the bridge leading into the station. It's harder than it might seem to get through that part of the game with no items. I died five times trying to do it, so be careful if you decide to try it. Check his corpse for a key, which you can use to open the locker in the darkroom for some new costumes (They even make the characters shoot better, somehow...). Both characters move the same speed and fight the same, but it's nice to see how they both interact and meet new characters along the way. The zombies in this game aren't all that scary looking compared to the ones in RE3, which all look like bombing victims. I can't figure out when it is that RE3 takes place because it's like the beginning of that game is before this one starts, but when you reach the police station in RE3, Marvin Branagh is dead, and in this game, he's still alive (Barely, though.). And also, in RE3, the Nemesis crashes through a window in the first floor of the police station but when you find that same window in this game, somehow it's been repaired, as if by magic. That's alright, though, just a small setback. I've been trying to find the extra mini game with Hunk & Tofu that you can somehow unlock in this game and no guide seems to tell me. I've also heard that you can somehow play as Chris at some point, although I don't see why, since he's apparently in Europe when this game takes place. Yeah, I still have a lot to discover, but it's an awesome game. The sound needed work, since it sounds like it's coming through a telephone, but oh well. At least I can understand what they're saying. It was real scary when William Birkin mutated (Trust me) and kills the guy in the prison cell. For a while I actually thought he WAS the Nemesis, because there is a SMALL resemblance. But play this game if you haven't already. It may be hard, but it's among my five favorite RE games. (There only ARE about 5)

A Port That Beats the Original

Usually, ported games end up being EXACTLY the same as the original. Not in this game. CAPCOM has made an excellent job of making this game new enough for N64 owners to enjoy. The graphics are excellent. ALL the FMV are in the 64MB cartridge. Best game I've played since Zelda!

This a wonderful game, loaded with zombies, monsters, and other freakisly fantasic muntants. This game takes place in a small peaceful retreat spot called Raccoon City. Take the role of either a headstrong R.P.D. Police Officer named Leon Kennedy, or a resourceful young woman named Claire Redfield who is trying to find her brother Chris which was the hero of the origanal RE title. And so it seems, the Umbrella Corp. has come out with a new breed of the deadly T. Virus using Raccoon City as its "Lab Rat" and, if that isn't enough anyone who gets near becomes a zombie, a FLESH eating zombie. So turn the lights down low, and emerse yourself into a freakisly fun game. So, you may laugh in the face of fear, but it will be a nervous, unconvincing, little laugh, and do try to stay alive.

If you like action and suspense, this one's for you!

I am a HUGE fan of the resident evil series and am glad to see that N64 released this version, which I have been drooling for ever since I heard about it's release date. The story itself is encompassing, drawing in the player into the realm of Raccoon City and the zombie dodging that goes with it. An all around creepy atmosphere can do wonders for anyone who loves horror games or just loves a good thriller. The game is a classic and I am looking forward to spending many more hours enjoying the fun, mystery and suspense that is the Resident Evil series.
