A Great Game! The graphics are slightly better than the previous Zelda for N64 and the gameplay is awesome. The game does have some flaws though. First of all, it's too short. The game only has four "temples" unlike Ocarina of Time, with eight "temples". Also the game is to easy. It is almost impossible to die unless you are horrible at video games. Last of all,the game graphics can get cheesy. For example, when you slow down time, the people go slower but the movement of their legs is the same. Overall the game is good but it's not worth the 60 bucks I payed for it

This game is the Ultimate! The story is excellent and the puzzles are challenging and fun. It is not an easy game that you can breeze through without thinking a little bit so if you are looking for a little bit of a challenge pick it up.
Awsome RPG

This game was so-so in comparison to it's older and bigger brother, Ocarina of Time. The graphics are nicely done and there is a fair number of times and places for side quests and more game interaction.
The thing that bothers me is 1) the plot: No real plot, seems like all they wanted was a game on the market rather than waiting until a real idea came up. 2) Time limit- Very annoying when a good part of the time playing the game is going back to day 1. It gets really boring having to sit through the time portal cutscreen every hour or so. 3) Too easy- Far too easy, Ocarina of Time makes this look silly. The first time I went into the Snowhead temple I defeated it in around half a day's time (zelda's time, normal speed) and the boss only took off 1 1/2 hearts total.
They could have done a better job, but if you're a Zelda fan you gotta get it!

I have to say...I am really disapointed with Majora's Mask. If you've ever played Ocarina of Time, dont be expecting the same thrill here. It's pretty clear that this game was a rush job...the plot is pretty lame. Here are some of the things in it that are kind of anoying: ~~1) I have to say the most anoying thing about this game is probably the Clock...the game would be a whole lot better without the Clock even in it!!! For example you might beat a temple on day 3, have to go back to day 1 and in the process lose some of your stuff(even some stuff such as swords) or you might be at the end of the temple at day 3 and just run out of time... then go back to day 1 to start the temple all over!!! The game would have been much better without the clock at all. ~~2) Many(and i mean MANY) of the characters are recycled characters from OoT ~~3) This game seems to have lost the almost "medevil" type feel that OoT seemed to kinda have..for example some characters wear modern things like basball hats...theres a post office man with modern post office clothes, etc. ~~4) The whole environment seems much smaller...basicly just Clock Town, the various temples, and a very small field, "Termina field"...I do have to admit that I missed Hyrule ~~5) The sound wasnt as good as OoT, the graphics where OK...but the attaintion to detail did'nt seem half as good as OoT ~~6) last, the scenarios were pretty jerky and just not as smooth as they could have been.
Overall the game was definatly a rush job to get it on the market ASAP...not what I was expecting...but none the less its a Zelda game :)...so I would'nt recommend not buying it.

majora's mask is a fun role playing game. I liked it because you can do so many things with the maskes you get. For example: the bunny hood not only lets you run fast but also lets you see the clock in the post-mans time game. I hope others will enjoy this game as much as I did.

I just finished defeating "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" on the bonus disc for Gamecube. It was the second time I had beaten the game, the first on my N64. And though I will probably be crucified for this, I still find it inferior to "Ocarina of Time", its N64 predecessor. Realize that I am not calling "MM" a bad game. In fact, it is still vastly superior to most of the games of its day, and it also must be remembered that "Ocarina" could be arguably considered one of the greatest games ever made. In fact, I wanted to give Majora's Mask 4.5 stars for what it does best. Like most purists, I had my doubts about the three day time system, but aside from a little bit of erroneous temporal physics, being given a deadline is one of the biggest hooks of the game, and its vastly entertaining to solve people's problems before they even tell you about them.
And this is undoubtedly the best part of the game: the way you interact with the hundreds of different characters, whose movements you can often follow for the full three days. In "Majora" you're given opportunities to collect masks, heart pieces, and other rewards by going out of your way to help the citizens of Clock Town and the surrounding areas. This is never better illustrated than in the story of Anju and Kafei (a couple of lovers whose wedding plans have been permanently altered by the falling moon - the moon is more of a villain than the Skull Kid).
But for me, at least, the game loses points in the actual dungeons. The dungeons in Ocarina were engaging, and though a player could definitely get frustrated (parts of the Water Temple come to mind), they were still entertained, and managed to get through it, to the boss. Often the dungeons in "Majora" were so ridiculously tedious that I wanted to turn off my system in anger, but due to the erratic save points, even this was impossible. Remember the mirror puzzle in Ikana Castle? Placing statues outside the stone tower? All the other puzzles that made you want to root for the moon?
In addition, the boss battles are extremely inconsistant. Gyorg (the boss of the Zora temple) is the most swear-generating boss I have encountered in a while, yet the final boss can be taken out easily without the loss of more than a couple of hearts.
Shigeru Miyamoto is a genius. With "Majora's Mask", he created another incredible Link/Zelda title, and proved further that the interface works in 3D. However, if given the choice between this and "Ocarina", I'll reach for the predecessor, every time.
Zelda? Fun game, but misleading title

The game is awsome and the game play is fun. But they messed up the legend of zelda by having a game that basicaly has nothing to do with princess Zelda. Now dont get me wrong! I think it's an awsome game with an awsome plot. It's just that Zelda is only in the game for an insignificant five seconds, and it's only a one of Links memories.
Just as good as the first one! Awesome

The Legend of Zelda:Majora's Mask is so wicked awesome! I can't say that it is better than the first one because I like them both the same. But Majora's mask is lively...so to speak. With Clock Town and the events of Anju and Kafei, putting on masks, the red eyed scary moon, entering temples, going to the beach, and watching Romani get abducted! HA HA. This game is so much fun and is funny if you have a sense of humor. If you liked the first Zelda I recommend Majora's Mask. It might not be your favorite but it's still fun. I will treasure this game just like the first one.
