I have the version for Mac and I love it!

Finding computer games for a Mac can be difficult, frankly I don't understand why because Macs are not uncommon. Master of Orion II combines neat graphics, the races are quite different, with strategy. I like the fact that I can advance and "win" either by killing everyone else or by politicing. I only wish the "create your own race" section allowed you to create an image as well for your race since you have only the standard models to chose from.

In my concept, Moo2 is still the best game of it's class, unbeatable to this date. If you are a new player you might wonder why a 7-year-old game with old-fashioned graphics and a dumb AI is so good. The answer: put at least 2 addicted gamers on a LAN and you'll have days of endless fun! Manipulate the computer to declare war on your friends, spy on them, take them by surprise, it's amusing!
The micromanegement and nearly infinite custum-race options turn each new game on a surprise. The ship design is fantastic!
It is definetively a must have !

I was playing it so often that the cd got all scratched so i bought another one. I'm just very fond of the whole concept of the game, it's simply a pure strategy game to the bone. If you study the game really well then you will find that precizely customized races will give the best results + saving and loading alot. I dont think the game is too easy but I win it all the time, and I only play in "HARD" and "IMPOSSIBLE" modes (customized of corse), MO2 was made by Microprose not Infogrames or so I thought!?!.

I started playing this game without looking at the instructions and found it very intuitive and easy to grasp. Very similiar layout to the original (wich I love and still play). I love the random events and the AI's aggressive style. I couldn't give it 5 stars because I'm mad that they took away the ability to research multiple technologies simultaneously. It also anoys me that they renamed the map icon to planets. Since I am new to this game, I keep going to planets thinking it will show me the planets under my control. Instead it shows all planets not under my control.

I'm not really under 13 just not a member :)

I really like this game, a lot. Kinda hard to get used too in the start but when you play a little you start 2 understand it.
I like it because there are so many different ways 2 win.
It aint all about brute force you can also win by other means :) Enjoy!

Classic Games are still good.

Such an excellent classic game - oO Out of date graphics are completely irrelevant to the fun gameplay. This thing is all about the design and gameplay - man - i can't believe i scored it on Amazon for just 4 bucks too - lol. I get to take home any new game for free i like at the game company i work at - but this old title will show up in my play list whenever i get bored with the new stuff out there.
And for 4 bucks! Cummon - you can't beat that! LOL. I spent more at Starbucks this morning.

This game is a must have! If you like stradegy games, here's your chance to get one of the best games Microprose has made. It's civilations except not. They use the same ideas here, but a lot funner. Also, if anyone has or knows where to get the first one, I would love to know! Spyder1911@aol.com

clame unknown star systems. conqure other races or your arch enemys the ... trade for reserch or reserch it yourself. build up a humunges amount of ships to conqure other races. become the top leader of the galexy before the other race does. This is just a few of the things that you can do on this game. I would recomend this game to any game player who loves stradegy. the superb grafics and sound efects can be run on even an older pc. Truly a great game.
