The Monkey Island (MI) series is by far the best adventure game series. The puzzles are challenging yet logical and the graphics on this is wonderful! I love the cartoony graphics.
The Curse of Monkey Island is, in my opinion, the best of the MI series. The intuitive point-and-click controls make it a snap to control Guybrush and the hillarious yet challenging puzzles, great voices, and wonderful acting make this a highly engrossing game.
I unfortunately lost the second CD on this game and tore the house upside down looking for it. I'm considering buying it again. It's THAT good!
I rarely give 5 stars, only reserving the ranking for the best of the best, and the Curse of Monkey Island certainly is the best.
Runs smoothly in XP

After 10 years, the graphics still look great. I really like it. Especially full voice dialoge.
It runs smoothly in Windows XP, and you have use ScummVM in order to do that. (The game can run without it, but I have faced voice repeating problem)
You can download ScummVM at [...]
Great fun for the entire family

I remember playing this game and cracking up when I was in High School. I may be 24 now, but I still get a chuckle from the character Murray. The is a great game that gamers of any age can enjoy. The game features a normal mode with not so difficult puzzles for younger players, and a hard mode for the more complicated puzzles.
WOW!

Get this game! Great style, a lot of fun, great humor, difficult, yet fun to figure out. Why aren't there more games like this?

SIMPLY THE BEST GAME EVER!!! I have played all of the Monkey Island games, and my favorite is CMI. The controls and format are much more enjoyable to play than even the last MI (Escape from...). I replay this game at least once a year, and I appreciate the 2 levels of play. Mega-monkey level has more puzzles, adding more difficulty for repeat players.
MI is my favorite series of games with entertaining storylines, cutscenes, humor, and inside jokes--though I have to admit the LucasArts "no death" policy is attractive. Call me a wimp, but I don't like to die and restart after investing several hours into a game!!
"Ughhh.... porcelain."

The Monkey Island series have always been among the greatest of adventure games. Curse of Monkey Island is my favorite in the series, mainly for it's spectacular animation and side-splitting dialogue. And what other game allows you to store massive ram-rods in your pants? It took me nearly 20 hours to beat this game, although it really isn't very long. The puzzles are amazing, yet fiercely difficult at times. More than once was I crying to the skies in frustration while playing the game. But lord, was it worth it. From beginng to the end, Curse of Monkey Island will have you laughing.
Greatest game ever

Although I am too picky, I liked monkey island so much. From the moment I played the demo, I knew this game would be great. What I like about the series are the great graphics, wonderful music, u can (almost always!) never be killed, and all the puzzels make sense. Thank you Lucas Arts.
Great game, but I wouldn't buy it.

I really liked this game. It's hilarious, and pretty challenging too. I haven't played it in a while, though.
I recall the plot being that a young pirate, Guybrush Threepwood, proposes to the governor of Melee Island, Elaine Marley, and puts a huge diamond ring on her finger, which turns her into solid gold. Seeking help, Guybrush ventures away from the gold statue that is his fiancee. He returns to find her stolen by pirates. The point of the game is to find Elaine.
I'd call The Curse of Monkey Island a strategy game. It involves collecting items and using them...Kinda like the Freddi Fish games. It's more challenging, though.
There are two levels, Mega Monkey and some other level - I don't remember the name. Mega Monkey is the more difficult level, while the other one has some tasks already done for you.
I wouldn't buy this game. The gameplay is the same every time, so once you're done, you're done. Don't look up hints on the internet or whatever.
That's it. I'm bad at conclusions, so...
Long Live Murray!!

One of the funniest, puzzliest, and memorable point-click adventure games ever. The third in the Monkey Island series put forth by Lucasart has a wonderfully appealing hand-drawn animation style and swash-buckling color themes.
In case you are unfamiliar with the gameplay, your character (Guybrush) basically stands on screen and you click where you want him to go, talk, pickupstuff, interact, and whatnot. And once you get the hang of it, you'll be trying to get him to react to everything, trust me.
There are so many quotes, I won't spoil any though. I've beaten this game several times. You always find something new to love.
The next game in the series is pretty fun, but this cartoon-style is SO perfect for this game that if they make any more, it should be in this way. Guybrush Threepwood, mighty pirate, would agree.

This is probally the finest example for Monkey Island rookies to start playing at..While the other two before it were praised for their innovations and humor, the graphics are just too pixelated for many of today's gamers to take seriously..On the contrary, MI3's hand drawn artwork can still be appreciated today, as all good productions made during this time period have the anti-dated technology of plain old fashioned well drawn art to guide them..This game takes almost everything that was good about the first few and makes the generational leap to a more visually realized gaming universe..
