Not for the faint of heart

This is basically 'Street Fighter' on steroids. The game moves lightining quick and has tons of mind-blowing combos. When was the last time you saw a game that even came close to 100-hit combos? The only real drawback is the sound. Lounge music in a fighting game? Capcom, what were you thinking?

Marvelous day for Capcom

Marvel vs Capcom 2 is an incredible game. Capcom has comed a long way and this game shows it.Graphics: are great. It's a good combo of 2-D characters with a beautiful 3-D background. In some backgrounds when you move across the screen you can actually see some object move to your point of view (ala 3-D) The characters are nice lookin, though I don't like the look of Thanos (the purple guy at the top) The graphics shines when a character pulls of a super move. Sound/Music: Well the music is ok but it becomes repetitive during the game. The sound is pretty good and sometimes fade in the game but it won't bother the gameplay at all. Controls: It's pretty easy not much to worry about unless you want to pull off excellent combos. Air combos are pretty easy but if your a first time gamer of Marvel vs Capcom 2 you dont need to worry there is a Training Room where you can choose your character and opponents and beat them at your will. You can also make them attack you and set the level of difficulty plus unlimited super moves (if you set it) The game overall is great and should keep fans of Marvel and Capcom busy (with 30+ characters) If your a fan of past Marvel vs Capcom game this game should be up your ally. Check it out!

Great but by no means for Everyone

Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the probably the grand finale of the 2D fighter (rumor has it Capcom will start making staff and funding cuts in the area due to lagging sales) and the designers have pulled out all the stops. With the ability to choose from the largest number of characters ever seen in a fighting game, the player selects 3 characters which they can tag in or out at any time. Characters range from classics like Captain America and Ryu to characters from more recent games, such as Jill from Resident Evil. The game runs blindingly fast, and many may feel the need to set it to "normal" rather than "turbo" speed just to be able to keep up. Slowdown is non-existant, proving that the Dreamcast, like the Saturn before it, is the king of 2D games.

However, newbies will likely be intimidated by the large selection of characters, and the complicated play mechanics. Non-veterans of the genre will find the gameplay foreign and confusing. For anyone who didn't play Marvel vs Capcom 1 or another game in the VS series should avoid this one and opt for Capcom's entry level 3D fighter, Power Stone.

(Does that count SNK vs. Capcom?)

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is the most played machine at our local arcade. It's phenominal graphics paired with the 3-player 2D action unheard of before in other 2D fighers - even from the near-unfallable Capcom. Here we are presented with another fine installment from the 'Vs.' series, many times better than it's previous version. You start out with more characters than in Marvel vs. Capcom INCLUDING hidden characters. After releasing all the hidden characters you have 52 characters! This is an amazing amount of characters, and this doesn't scratch the surface!

(Just a note: DO NOT get this game if you do not have a VMU or do not want to erase the VMU game. It's nessisary for the acquisiton of characters.)

Better than the first!!!!

This game is really good. It has a lot of glitches. It's neat that you can pick 3 of 1 character when you unlock everything.

This the most perfect tag game ever. By having 56 characters(well bone clawed wolverine does not count, just 55 characters that are from over their own worlds.)Having 3 on 3 is the most insane fighting game with Capcom V.S SNK and Project Justice

First of all Marvel V.S Capcom 2 is very smooth, easy to make combos faster than part 1 and changing/adding new feature. I name the features. Snap Back. By using the 3rd or 6th button you can send an fighter back to his or side and call the other partner that is depends on Button A or B. It only uses one hyper bar, but it is blockable. Assist Types: After picking a character one at a time you can choose between 3 types of assists for to use in battle. The assists types pick a special move,(For Example: Cable's assist type A will be his "viper beam,") Healing, enhancing, or a luncher. By pressing the 3rd or 6th while standing. It also picks the Hyper D Combo for the character. Hyper D Combos: After picking the assist type you can do a D Hyper combo with two or all characters. Same as above it depends on your assist type(Example 2: Pick: Jin's assist type B, and if you do the D.H.C he will do the Blooda Punch. Linking Hyper Combos: After doing a Hyper Combo you can do the same motion and chain different combos. Taging: It is now light punch & kick to trade into partner A, heavy punch and kick for partner B. Buttons: now it is just Light/Heavy Punch and Kick ,middle attacks work in combos and was replace by the Heavy buttons. Now the heavy buttons are replace with assist types pro: Gameplay, animation, hyper combos, and quicker than part 1 Con: The music, and hurts your arm if you play it more than once.

The best fighter ever!

As you have heard, this is arguably the BEST fighter on the dreamcast. The great graphics and gameplay are all well and good, but in my opinion there is one aspect that transcends all of that. That, ladies and gentlemen, is...Servbot. Imagine if you will, a gigantic, screen-sized fighter able to take down most plaers in a few hits. Sound cool? Now imagine fighting that character as Servbot, the 2 foot tall housekeeping machine. This is the glory of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Awesome
