AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!Sorry peeps but thats how GOOD this game is, O MAN! this game rocks hardcore, if you dont get this game when it hits the streets then you may be the laughing stock of the neighborhood. but on the real people this game is by far the BEST fighting game that capcom has ever put out, not only do you get 3 fightable characters, but some of the originals are back in hardcore action, with a ton of people to choose from and many hidden 1's to get, and hidden 1's on top of that. GET IT FAST, but in the meantime play it in the arcade, you wont be let down.

This is blast

This was the best game in the world to buy, once. But now, there is no point in buying it because there are newer games.STOP!If you want to buy this game, don't! Powerstone 2 and project justice are over a million times better. This game is weak... .

I love street fighter... but

The only problem I got is with the control.. I also think the game could be a little better looking. sepcially Moragin or whatever. she looks to cheap in here.

but the control, what happen to my 6 botten's for attacks? I hate the new button control. I like the old street fighter control.

another thing wrong with this game. Why is there not an option to just choose one charicter? Cause it would be to easy?

somethings are just missing.. that shouldn't be.

and it also seems they are tunning it down for more kids. the woman don't seem to have the sex appeal they had.

Capcom's back with another addition to this fighting series.

Capcom has long been known as one of the "standards" in this category of games. And they prove their worth by putting out exemplary titles such as this one. Not only is this game by far the best two-player game they've put out so far, it has a nice new feature that all of you solo-fighters out there will love. It's a point-system, which explained briefly is a system in which certain characters in the game are locked out of it, as well as alternate color schemes for characters, and alternate backround environments. And the way to "un-lock" them is to simply play the game in any of its numerous modes. When you've finished playing this game you'll be rewarded with an amount of points. Using these points you may visit a "store" where you can purchase aforementioned items, and characters (56 total). Giving this game a much needed boost to the replay value of it. And as with any game in this series, the gameplay is fast, furious, and at times overwhelming. There are many screen-filling hypercombos to be had, each one more spectacular than the next. All the action moves very smoothly on-screen, no hint whatsoever of any slow-down, or sprite flicker. Graphically it doesn't get any better than this for a two dimensional fighter. And speaking of the second dimension, it's not really a two dimensional fighter anymore, it's more of a blend of both worlds. Using fully rendered three-dimensional backrounds, with two dimensional characters transposed onto those backrounds in the foreground. Resulting in what I think are beautiful visuals to go along with arcade-perfect execution of the insane gameplay. Now i've read some other reviews and some people have said that because of this blending that the characters tend to look "out of place." To me, I really did not notice it until it was brought to my attention, and I really focused on it. In my opinion it's an improvement, and it really doesn't detract from the game in the least. Becuase the three dimensional backrounds are really breathtaking. There is one quip I do have with the game though, it's the backround music. Not that it's really that horrible, but in a game of this nature it seems very out of place. For a fast paced, intense fighting game you really don't expect to be hearing jazzy/bluesy elevator music. But rather a hard driving techno or rock beat of some sort. But while this threw me, in the end it really didn't bother me too badly. Because these games haven't built a following around the world because of their backround music. Bottom line, if your a fan of this series, a fighting game fan, or a Marvel Comic fan for that matter, you will love this game.

Also, an additional note. I do recommend that if you buy this game, spend a little more money and invest in some Dreamcast Fighting Sticks which this and any fighting game benefits from over the standard Dreamcast controller. It will just make this game that much more enjoyable. After all that's what these games are all about, having some fun.

the best VS game so far?

I'd have to say maybe. On one hand you have 3 tag characters instead of 2 which you can select from a total of 50+. On the other hand you have some strange visuals with the clash of 2d characters with 3d backrounds. I dislike how the characters don't animate during the selection screen. IMO a .... menu screen just screams low quality for a game design. The gameplay is fun and simple, the timing of aerial raves combos is much easier (I was able to figure out how to do those .... combos finally). It'd be nice if team supers did a bit more damage, they seem to be there to show off rather than for strategy. Well maybe if your strategy is to be mean and block damage someone to death.

Hacking the Genre a little further...

You know the drill. Insane million-hit combos. Aerial raves that look impossible even for superheroes to pull off. The characters. And so on. This particular genre of fighting game has been done and done and done. Capcom are the innovators of taking a game and riding its gravy train until the biscuit wheels turn into soft, vanilla-paste-looking mush. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind, but almost any company can do it. The trick is doing it well. And Capcom have, with an amalgamation of every single "Vs." game they've ever put together packaged into one single, dare I say it, button-mashing frenzy. Name a character from a "Vs." game, and he/she is in there, from "X-Men: Children of the Atom" on through. All together, a whopping roster of 56 fighters in all (once they're all unlocked), split down the middle with 28 on Marvel's side and 28 busting heads for Capcom. And just to keep it intriguing, they've included two brand-new characters on each side making their first Capcom appearance (Ruby Heart and Amingo for Capcom, Cable and Marrow for Marvel), all of which are interesting to play and look at ('specially when Marrow rolls her bones). Visually, the game is stunning of course, with all-new 3-D looking backgrounds and some new character animations. Many of the super-moves are brilliant and hurt just to watch. Gameplay and control are dead-on; nice and tight as usual, and even beginners will get an occasional win from pure button-pressing. 56 characters means that everyone will find a comfortable combo to use, as they each have 3 different assists as well. The only real flaw in this one, if one can be found, is the MUSIC. The soundtracks just don't fit the game at all, and when you start listening, you'll know what I mean. But all in all, a very impressive show from Capcom, even if it's been done before. Beat 'em up fans will LOVE this one. I'd recommend it to any fighter. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because this series is getting just a little tired and it looks like it's running out of ideas. Still GREAT fun, though. Get it tomorrow.
