The best fighting game ever

In my opinion, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the best fighting game ever created. It has the good stuff from the previous Marvel games and 56 characters. But this is just the starting of a wonderful game, fast and strategical.
The possibility to choose 3 characters having several ways to make them interact(use of assists, delayed combos, variable counters and lots of stuff that you'll enjoy for a long time)makes the game very deep and adds an huge replay value to it.
You can start playing the game and, after a while, identify lots of nice combos that you can do. Way after learning the combos though, you'll still be able to develop new tactics and strategies to build a good team, since there's so much combinations and possibilities into this game.
If you plan to play against friends, this game might revelas itself as the best replay value you ever had.
But, as the lowest point at this review, if you plan to play alone, you'll have a good game to play for a while. Don't get me wrong. You'll probably find MvC2 a very good solo game, but it's way way better when played with other people, when one tries to outsmart the other and you have to deal with much more strategies and combinations than the CPU can show.
If you want to buy just one game to play with people, go for it.
If you want to buy a new game for your Dreamcast, even to play alone, the game is a very nice option too.

This has got to be one of the most mindblowing 2-D games I have ever played. The graphics are beautiful without taking from the characters themselves. Come on, you know you've lost a a game a couple of times because you were observing the scenery rather than what you were doing. ~_^ The characters are vivid and the action is fast. You'll love the 3 on 3 team action. This game is packed with riveting combos and killer moves. You won't be able to rip yourself away from the screen. I had mostly played this game in the arcade, and now I'm fortunate enough to own it. I play it so much I am constantly getting gamer's thumb. ^_^ This has got to be one of the best damn games for Dreamcast.
Simply the best game out there.

This game has everything, you start out with a roster of about 26 characters if I'm correct, then you buy the rest with the points you earned. 56 characters in total, sweet. The best thing in the game is the comboage, you can do comboes with every character in the game, and they'r a very good way of showing off and kicking major [behind]!!! Although it's a 2D game, there are completely 3D backgrounds, they are awsome, not to mention huge(but I mentioned it anyway), it would be cool to be able to do what you used to in the previouse Vs. games with the stages. If you have a Sega Dreamcast, and you like fighting games, get it now... The graphics are awsome, the music is sweet. The game just planely RULES!!!
Pros:
Huge Barrage Of Fighters, 56!
BIG TIME 3D Backgrownds Blend In Perfectly!
Beautifuly Drawn Characters!
Awsome New Boss, Abyss!
Insane 3-on-3 Tag Team Battles!
Cons:
Can't play as the boss!
cool game to play when bored

I love fighting games and when I first played Marvel vs Capcom 2 I was shocked. I couldn't believe my eyes, 56 characters ranging from Jill from Resident Evil to Iron Man, this was just one of the things that made me give this game 5 stars. You get everything that a great fighting game needs, great controls, great graphics, great levels and a great final boss!!! I have the first Marvel vs Capcom and that is nothing compared to this. Some problems with the first one were the controls were hard to control and there weren't enough chracters. But then #2 comes out and fixs all of those problems and then some.
If you like fighting games and you have a DreamCast, go get this, NOW!!!!!!!!!!

This is the perfect game for any fighting game fan! Especially comic book loving fighting game fans! The one and only complaint I have is over the music... what game was the music intended for? Not this one! Everything else is near flawless.

This game is incredibly fun. Normally the vs. games like this lack replay value and get boring quickly. But not this one. In total you have 56 charecters, and can have three on three battles. This game takes fighting games to new levels. If you own a dreamcast and don't have this game, you need to get it-bottom line.

With Tekken Tag Tournament dominating the arcades, jaded arcade goers such as myself craved something new and refreshing. That avenue of refreshment came in the form of Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. This game is insane to say the least!
Three on Three Tag Team matches + 56 playable characters + 3D backgrounds + excellent jazz music = pure delight. Given all the elements of the game, the action is lightning quick and will sometimes leave you asking "What the heck just happened?" The combos are fun and easy to do, so nearly anyone can pick this game up and become good in short while. The sound quality in this game is just excellent. Character voices and the background music are crisp and clear. The great jazzy soundtrack is welcome change from the tired remixed scores from previous Vs. games and it combines well with the action on screen. The character animations are also superb and smooth. Even better are the stunning 3D backgrounds, contrary to popular belief, the 2D characters are not anomalous in their new environment, in fact they enhance their appearance.
The only minor problem about this game is the fact that it caters to cheap players. A single button can annoyingly send out an assist partner for duration of the game and two buttons can initiate a single, double, or even triple Hyper Combo on your opponenet! Beginning players usually get massacred by advanced ones. Some rounds last only thrity seconds (or less!). So be wary.
All in all, MVC2 is an awesome game with ENDLESS REPLAY VALUE. Just watching the game is a treat in itself. If don't mind the game's mild "cheapness", then this is the ultimate fighting game for you.
