Just got back from the Metreon where LucasArt's had at the launch party StarFighter. One word sums it up this game. Stunning. Everyone on the team should be proud of what they have made. Explosions, backgrounds, light effects are simply amazing. And this is just looking over everyone's shoulders. There's so much detail flying around space, canyons, hangers. The line to try it stretched out the door so I didn't get my time at the controller. However, just being at the rollout event almost made up for it. Camera's were everywhere capturing the moment. Guys dressed like StarWars characters walked around. And the LucasArts people that made the game were there answering questions and signing autographs. While in the background you could hear that so fimiliar sound track playing from the StarFighter game. The only thing that was disappointing about was not being able to take a copy home with me. Oh well, my copy is on it's way.

Just plain awsome

This game is just plain beautiful! The graphics are the best I've seen on ps2, or on any console. The great story driven game will make it hard to push the power button. The levels are just amazing. If you haven't bought this game your making a huge mistake. I personaly naver cared for x-Wing or N64's RS, but this one brought both together making the best Star Wars game ever. Not to mention the ships. Each ship is different, and with its own different control and weapons. This is a must have. If your like me with a few bucks in his pocket and haven't bought a game in a while, this is the one to get.

The best Star Wars Game Yet

I have played just about every Star Wars Game that was put out (first on Nintendo, then Playstation, now Playstation2). Most of them were enjoyable, but "Star Wars: Starfighter" (the latest game out of the series made for the PS2 system) beats them all. With Lucas Arts utalizing the PS2 platform, the graphics are almost realistic. For example, when you're flying through the canyons, it actually looks like they are rock you're flying past, and the characters look like something, with their crisp clean round shapes. While it is easy to get stuck upside down while in flight, it is just as easy to correct it by toggling the right-stick, OR it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the battle if you are flying in an inverted position. The story, while it falls parallel to the timeline of Episode one, is not restricted to the events of Episode One, but rather goes off on its own story. Which is good, and is only locical to think that there are other events that take place during that time.A player can play all the way through this game in just over two hours (maybe less), so you don't have to play it in several sittings and lose track of what has happened before, but in just one or two sittings. The only BAD thing about the game is sometimes if your not careful, you can get trapped under the AAT (the ground tanks) which can knock out your shields REALLY fast. All in all I highly reccoment this game for avid Star Wars fans and even if you've never seen a Star Wars movie, it won't take away from the enjoyment of the game.

Just got the game a few days ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. In fact, I knew it was a winner when I put on the first training mission in a room full of people and two had to leave after they found it too nauseating. It's easy to get into - you can pretty much start clearing levels about ten minutes after you turn it on. After one weekend, I moved through half of the levels. But apparently, I could miss quite a bit because I haven't fulfilled all of the bonus missions. Graphics and gameplay are spectacular. While some have noticed occasional slowdowns, I haven't had any problems. The dialogue, especially during battle scenes, is idiotic. Then again, so was Episode 1 the movie. I think it can be avoided by changing the options, though I haven't bothered to try yet. So turn up the music and grab those barf bags, cause this game is a great one.

Starfighter delivers indeed...

Starfighter is an excellent game. It plays alot like the PS1's Colony Wars but with more power, more intensity, more fluidity, and a better storyline. The stage levels and ship movements are amazing in detail and the sound is spectacular, particularly when enemy troops perform swarm attacks, in which you literally become drowned within waves of enemy ships, and are deafened by the high pitched hum of their engines. Definitely use either your surround sound or headphones for this one, and don't worry, the controls are not hard to get used to. Although the main storyline missions can be accomplished in a few days, increasing the level of difficulty to hard provides for a thrilling challenge and lots of replay time. There's also several bonus missions and play options to be unlocked as you progress in your gameplay. This was a great purchase and is highly recommended for anyone who digged the final starfighting scene in Jedi.

I've played alot of flying simulation games, but this is far the best, enjoyable, entertaining, exciteing, buteiful graphics and it's fairly understanable flying techniqs makes it a must have.
NES Starfox has'nt the time killer abilities like Star Wars Starfighter. I sat down and played it for what seem an hour but really 3 to 4 hours of play. I'ts that addictive and not at all boreing but ah thrill ride you'd expect from PS2. Trully a wonderful expiernce in gameing history.

Wow. This game bears a striking resemblance to Colony wars: vengance. Now, That was a game! anyway, this game provided hours of entertainment. (the part where you fly inside the droid control ship is freakin' awesome!) the ground-to-air missions got a little dull after awhile, but the space missions never got dull. The chatter of your buddies when you are flying a deathmobile, Never got old. In closing, I would like to point out a few good features. The control is on the fly, and the graphics amazed me to no end in the space missions. on land, they are just plain mediocre. Kudos to Lucasarts for producing another winner!

I really didn't like Episode I all that much I thought it was too much geared toward kids rather than us twenty and thirty somethings that saw the original when it came out.

This game, however, hits its mark. Its fast pace & easy to use controls make the game fun to play. The story is so so but the smooth animation and excellent dogfighting more than make up for it.

Best Game Ever to Episode 1 Fans

LucasArts has done it again! Starfighter is amazing and the best mission was level 10 where all those droid starfighter swarm at you like Return of the Jedi. The other best mission I've played was the last mission where you have to fly into the droid control ship just like Anakin Skywalker! One thing confuses me though was after the Merc Leader was destroyed, why did the droid ship be blowing up itself before the reactor was destroyed?
The Mercenary Leader's shields are invulnerable for a while, that's why I recommend you finish the mission, then use the powerful Sith Infiltrator.Another bad trait about Starfighter is that your wingmen doesn't do a thing you ask them to, they just obey you for a while, then they just hang around. My favorite ship was the Infiltrator because it has tracking missiles like the Mercenary Leader, it can brake to a full stop, and its agility makes it more better for hunting down enemies. The best thing about this ship is its firepower, its laser power is so strong it can blow away a enemy fighter or a tank with just one shot. The Naboo Starfighter was my second favorite. It's the second most powerful ship in the game. Havoc's energy bombs are great, but it's just too slow. I would still recommend this game for any Star Wars fan in all ages.
