Just got back from the Metreon where LucasArt's had at the launch party StarFighter. One word sums it up this game. Stunning. Everyone on the team should be proud of what they have made. Explosions, backgrounds, light effects are simply amazing. And this is just looking over everyone's shoulders. There's so much detail flying around space, canyons, hangers. The line to try it stretched out the door so I didn't get my time at the controller. However, just being at the rollout event almost made up for it. Camera's were everywhere capturing the moment. Guys dressed like StarWars characters walked around. And the LucasArts people that made the game were there answering questions and signing autographs. While in the background you could hear that so fimiliar sound track playing from the StarFighter game. The only thing that was disappointing about was not being able to take a copy home with me. Oh well, my copy is on it's way.

Amazing, but WAY! too short

Within 5 seconds this game pulled me in. The ships are amazing the combat spectacular and the story exciting. For once even some of the characters are really cool, the alien ones of course. Overall this game is really amazing. Some of the missions have so many enemy ships flying around it really is incredible to see.

The problems with the game are a couple of stupid missions. The cliche canyon run is so over done as to be utterly dull. Every Starwars game has a canyon run. And the other cliche, the fly inside a ship. They don't even make any sense. The space missions were the best and gave the best feel of flying a starfighter.

But the biggest problem is the game is totally short. 2 hours of play and I had finished. 2 hours and it's all over. Just when things seem to be getting exciting it's over.

Overall it's a good and fun game. But it's length is a real drawback. They are on the right track. But not there yet.

Fabulous graphics, great replay ability. Three modes - easy, medium, and hard. Earn medals by completing bonus goals. Earning medals in specific missions unlocks other ships and missions. Easy controls and cool sniper view. A must have for any PS2 owner.

so far this is one of my favorite ps2 games. everything about it is great. a little easy to beat but its one of those games wher eyou can play over and over agian. the graphics are incredible. the sound is even better. i recomend this game to everyone.

Finally a Good Star Wars video game!

This is a very good new game. It is the first Star Wars game worth playing. The story line is ok. Graphics are AWESOME. sound is good. Gameplay is Very Good. The only really bad thing about it is you will not be hooked on this game forever. You will alot though. But overall it is a really good game with awesome graphics... its just not a classic.

I just got my PS2 a few days ago and this was the first game I got... and already I beat it. But I gotta say it was a very fun beating it. I did most of it in one day then the rest the next. Of course I put it on the "easy" mode and I'm guessing that it is the same ending/game in any of the other modes. If you were to buy this game I think I might recommend putting this on the medium level so you don't beat it to quickly. So that is one flaw right there and the next flaw is that when your in the game playing it can get choppy sometimes, although this really doesn't bring anything down to much. So overall if your looking to buy a new PS2 game or if your going to buy your first game for the PS2 I would recommend this game... but try not to get disapointed when you beat it to quickly. Because after you beat this game you can unlock some other bonus levels by getting bonus in each of the levels in the game.

well I own this game and I Heard the Controls where terrible and thats what I'm going to tell you about... THE CONTROLS, well what do I have to say.. shall I.. , I LOVED the controls they had a X-wing Feel rather then the a arcade sytle starwars game. let me tell you what the controls are like. there like if you where playing X-wing on the PS only it was a Ep1 world. you move the nose with the Left stick and tilt the ship left side or right sided with the right stick It's quite easy if you're "not" use to star fox. graphics of the game depend the most of the ships look great. while the worlds look like a 3D animated Movie. I don't care about the sound much that can all be handled mosly thanks to the power of radios (actully the sounds fine to me). and misson are fine with me, not too easy ,not too hard... just fine... the game is getting kind of short but It's fine enough for me. ok thats what I have to say

This game was very fun to play. Awsome graphics, just perfect in every way. The levels are hard, fun, and exiting. Great plot that went well with the film. Very good control over your starfighter giving you all of the options you can want. Problems not enough levels. Only 14 levels in the whole game. The biggest problem is unlimited lives. I hate unlimited lives it destroys the challenge of the game. Still good though.

...I also don't really go for starwars games but this game was an exception. To me the game plays like the incredible starfox game back on the snes but without the end level bosses. The graphics are incredible detailed I can't emphasis on how good looking the game is. And with the gameplay it almosts matches to how the game looks with smooth realistic movement of the ships. The draw back with this game is that the framerate tends to drop a bit when there is quite a lot of ships on screen and the fact that the actual game is a bit short. But with how the game plays it would't bother you. I can say I got a classic game worth of £15. this is a must for any starwars fans and a must for any shoot em-up fans the game is a class.

This is a rare example of a great star wars videogame. The story is rich in deatil and the worlds are great. The levels are developed and in great length. There is so many ways to play this game, it is a true gem for the playstation 2. The characters are believable especially for a star wars game. I was lucky to get this game when it was available and it is also the main reason why I got the PS2.
