the play is really intersting and close to reality, however it starts to get annoying towards the end.It seems impossible to kill the monsters.Yet,the reward is excellent when you finish it!!

Why buy 'Resident evil code: veronica x'?
put simply - not for the squemish. As it gleefully proclaims before you even get to the title screen, the game "contains scenes of extreme violence and gore" .There is a lot of blood. When you play you keep on discovering more and more gory bits, heads exploding in gore and blood as you kick desparately at a zombie clinging on to your leg, a zombie ex-anatomist ripping entrails out of a corpse with its teeth, before turning on you...

Violence and gore aside, it really is a very enjoyable game that you can really get into.
The characters develop through the game personality-wise and you learn more about them. This makes the game that much more entertaining because you really can empathize and (I know it sounds sad) feel for some of the characters.
The problem with it, as with nearly every other game by Capcom is that as it has no difficulty levels some parts of the game can become controller-throwingly hard!
Obviously though, with practice comes experience, and with experience you get that blood-stained route further.

Definately worth getting!
Buy it, then sell it because you can't get past the first bit!

maybe it was'nt for me

To start off with i got it for 9.99 in games exchange.I played resident evil before, so i thought id try this out.It is more of a finding secrets puzzle game, the puzzles and looking for key's is what got me a bit annoyed.I more of a fast action survival horror fan eg devil may cry ,onimusha[a bit different].The graphics were good without a doubt but it was more different from resident evil 3 which had more action on.If you run out of ammo for a gun, then you are basically done the only option is to run.And if the zombies get you it will be annoying .But it still gives you creeps i did'nt get aroun to finishing it off cuz i got board.

I just bought this game a couple of weeks ago, I am a resident evil fan and I've played most of them already on my PS1.
Pros:
1. Good graphics.
2. Good game for the price.
3. Voice of characters are pretty good
4. There are scenes in the game that gives you goosebumps.

Cons:
1. Too much Resident Evil is too much, same characters, same zombies and I guess after playing all of the resident evil games you get a little burned up.
2. Camera angles, I wish there was a way to change to different camera angles, sometimes I can't see the zombies at all.
3. I also think that in the begining at least there should be more ammo.
4. I would think that since ps2 has a lot more graphics etc... that the movements of the characters would be better, I mean more human like, specially walking or running.

In conclusion it is a good game for 20 bucks but even though I am a big fan of the early resident evil games, same storyline and same everything can get boring, but nevertheless I am going to keep playing until the end of the game. I just don't think I will buy another RE game unless something changes.

Dreamcast did it first

Wow, this game is amazing in many ways, Graphics, fighting , storyline, ect. The only reason I gave it four stars was because Dreamcast did it first. The numerous monsters and Zombies truly frighten you and unexpectedly makes you jump(it's a real treat to watch a friend play this game). Although It's Exactly the same as the DC version, the graphics are better for the ps2 version. If you have played this on DC, then skip this, but if you are new, definetly pick it up. However, I will warn you that this game contains violent and gory graphics, so i wouldn't reccomend it if youre under about 12 years old.

Could've been a lot better than it was

The 1st RE for PS2 arrives accompanied by somewhat of a muted cheer with Code:Veronica X, a direct port of the DC Veronica with a couple of additional cinema sequences. RE newbies will find an enjoyable adventure here, but veterans will find it to be treading on very familiar ground. Veterans of the series already know what to expect: monster-blasting action crossed with brain-twisting puzzles, and it does not deviate from that formula either. The narrative follows survival/horror franchise pros Claire/Chris Redfield travel from a desert island to a secret Arctic base; both locales are, of course, densely populated by zombies and mutated monsters thanks in part to the G-virus, T-virus (or whatever they seem to be calling it these days). Veronica X delivers a solid stream of shocks and surprises, although some story elements are awkward as the games title puncuation. After a couple of "romantic" interludes between Claire and an island prisoner named Steve, you'll yearn for the no-nonsense style of Jill Valentine and RE3. One of the prime selling points of the game is additional cinematics that weren't in the DC version of the game. Only those rabid fans who want to know every last detail of the RE narrative should play this. The rest? Wait for RE on the GC. You really aren't missing much here.

This ... game was the best in its series. the graphics were great and the puzzles were crusifying. The controls were a bit sketchy, and the camera angles were a bit frustrating, but dont let that fool you. You'll get the hang of it and have the best time of your life. I have one thing to say,
GET THIS ... GAME!...

A little too easy

After playing all of the Resident Evil games this one no doubt fits into the category that the 2 and 3. The puzzles are a little too easy and the items don't really need to be searched for because it is almost as though they are just given to you. The most difficult thing that I did notice was the lack of ammo in this game and that can come back to haunt you if you save at the wrong spot and then have to square off with one of the bosses. Especially in the end where you need to pump some serious ammo into the queen to even have her change form. All in all a very addicting game and it offered up hours of enjoyment. The scenes were really good although the love triangle is a bit much, and strange incestual vibe given off between Chris and Claire can get a little wierd at times.
