Great Game

I first found out about max Payne when my friend told me about it. Interested, I looked up the game online and found that it was only $... new. I figured that i couldn't go wrong so I bought it the next day. I'm really, really glad i did because i find my-self playing it more than all other of my games. Everything about this game is fun and entertaining and the cinimatography is EXCELLENT! The only problem i had with it was thatit was a little hard to get used to the controls, but after awhile it was no issue. This game is GREAT and it definately desevers five stars!

this game is a bummer.i just finished hitman II silant assasin great game,so many things your guy can do.lots of gadgets and tricks,great balance of violence and strategy,well thought out.max payne is none of that.it should be a ps1 game.dont buy it,rent first.

I had just finished Max Payne and it was a fun game with a story line. After finishing it, I do feel like playing it again (Good thing because Xmas is close and you never know what you get in your stocking). The levels that go into Max psyche are a little creepy for my tastes. I had to turn it off when my 2 year old daughter goes in because if it gives me nightmares I shudder to think what it could do to her. There is also a lot of violence to boot. In case you have not figured it out, this is not one for kids. The action is good and the bullet time is a nice feature when you seem to be out numbered. My wife doesn't care for the painkillers, which seem to promote drug use. Then again, this is one of the reasons it gets a mature rating I'm sure.

The levels are not too hard, however I had to resort to the cheats to get through the exploding restaurant, because the walkthrough didn't explain it well enough. Please bear in mind if you do resort to the cheats, the game will make it real easy. If you want to challenge yourself but you get stuck at a level you can make Max god-like to get through the level and then at the next save, just load the level and you will be mortal again.

If you like games like syphon filter or metal gear solid you will like this game.

Great gameplay beats a terrible script

You remember those great blockbuster movies where the stunts were amazing and the script and acting were close to unbearable? Max Payne is a game in the same vein as those movies. Still, much like those movies, you easily forget the terrible script while your diving in slow motion and shooting a villain with two pistols. Other than the atrocious script (mob, to cult, to government?) and so-so voice acting, Max Payne is quite enjoyable. A tad on the easy side (though heaven knows those dream sequence levels were frustrating)means that this game is over quite quickly, but after that final bullet is shot, one does feel quite satisfied with this game. If you're looking for a game where you like blasting and don't mind long loading times and unbelieveable plot, Max Payne is the game for you.

This game was a good shooter, and the graphics are great. One problem is that it was easy, and I beat it fast. Besides that, I liked the use of weapons and the graphics.

this game is ok; if you're into just running around and shooting people. but after playing for about fifteen minutes, i got really sick of it (literally). the controls are hard to get used to, and the gameplay gets me really dizzy. i do like the matrix like slow motion(bullet time) feature. i no longer own this game 'cause i sold to a friend after just one day.

This is a very fun game but it got cut kinda short. I rented this game and came very addicted. It is a very good game but the biggest flaw it has is that it is too short. It took me three days to beat, but it was a good three days.

This is one of the best action games i have ever played. The visual effects were great, slow motion action/Matrix type video games make it more like a real movie and you are the director. i would enjoy this game a lot more if there were different control options, using both sticks is kinda difficult when you have to shoot people at the same time. i have not yet gotten used to the controls, maybe if i do then it will be more fun. if you like action this is the game for u

This is a great game played on Sonyplaystation2,I just bought it and can't stop playing it,it will make your heart beet faster when playing,buy it,it's worth it..............

I rate this game very awsome.The first time i played it took me
awile to figure it out , but now i play like a pro.
