Fun Third Person Shooter but...

I doubt it if I would play it again at least once a month like my other games that I have. Yes, I agree with the editorial review on this game but I would like to add that there are two levels that you have to play/endure as a involuntary drugged-induced Max Payne running and jumping through this blood-trail maze. What really sucks is that if you step off the path you have to keep repeating the level until you make it through. This is SO STUPID! I don't know why the programmers didn't just make these into cutscenes.

Grand Theft Auto 3 but inside a building.....

I have both rockstar products (GTA3 and Max Payne and they are both great). The graphics and qulity of the game are superb and the slow-mo matrix style jumps ...are great. No seriosly it is a great title and i would rekcomend it to any shoot-em up/story mode fan!!
GTA3 is also great!! Rockstar certernally know how to make a good game! 5/5

Rockstar's Max Payne is a very cool shooter that puts you into the role of a man with nothing to lose, during a hellish winter storm in New York City. You are Max Payne, ex undercover cop who had no friends and is out to find those who have killed his wife and young child. The game sounds routine enought, but it is so much more than your usual role player. The best addition to this game has to be the Bullet Time feature. This allows you to slow down the action, frame by frame, so that Max can see the bullets being shot at him kind of Matrix style. Basically during Bullet Time, Max kicks major [rear] and there's pretty much no stopping him. Overall, Max Payne is a must have for any video game buff. The game has a good solid story, with good graphics and interest features. Those who think they are going to get their average shoot em up role player are wrong. Max Payne is much more than that. "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings..." Yeah Max.

It is good but really scary

I have this game and I love it(who wouldn't). But as soon as I started playing this game it was a little scary. Then when I was at "A Cold Day in Hell"(part 2) it got even scarier. Then when I got to part 3 it was the ultimate of scariness. I hate all the scary parts. The music is scary, the parts I listed are scary and more. I love the graphics though and it is still a really cool game. Oh yeah, and by the way the parts may be scary but you only have to play the game once. Kinda like a roller coaster once you get on, there is no getting off. So just finish the game and then you don't have to play it. So that is why I wrote this, to let people know what this game is like.

I bought Max Payne, fearing for the worst. But once I popped it in, I was mezmerised. This is an excellent purchase. I will agree, its nowhere near as Good as MGs2, but its still great. Gameplay is dangerously adictive, and the graphics are pretty slick. The only shortcoming of this game Ive found to this point is its EXCRUSIATING loading times. But what game is without shortcomings? Below are the pros, and cons of this game, I thought that would be helpfull in deciding whether or not to purchase.

PROS:
Addictive
Eye pleasing effects
accurate weaponry
Bullet Time
Fun plotline
Automatic difficulty system

CONS:
slow loading time
Levels can be VERY frustrating
Voice acting needs a bit of work
Some of the cutscenes dont make sense.

Overall though, this is a great game, loads of fun, and once you get into it, you wont even notice the few anoyances. I HIGHLY reccomend this game. Especially to anyone who likes: Perfect dark, MGS2, Grand theft auto, or Tomb Raider.

awesome shooting game, plus the addition of bullet time, being able to dive in the air go in slo motion and shoot people, photo realistic graphics, tons of guns to choose from to dive into the action with.

over all a pretty good game that you just want to keep going and going and it dose but it never long enough i guess. my favorite thing about this game(and this is strange)is the cut scenes.no game has good cut scenes the acting (is bad) the people look wierd if there lips even move and ive seen enough of that ... when i was a kid watching my younger sister do barbie shows.but anyway the cut scenes are great because there done with real picures of real people in comic book style witch i think is a great idea.there are alot of other cool things about this game but i think thats where max really stands out

I just beat this game Sunday and am contemplating doing it again. The graphics are great, the A.I is amazing and the game has alot of charisma. The game is not for the faint at heart... there is alot of blood and morbid content. BUY AND ENJOY!!!

This game is disturbing when his wife and baby get murdered. It is pretty sad since he gave up smoking for his baby and his baby died. But it is cool how he is set up and framed for murder of a police officer. But on the Ps2 version I heard that they cut out some things that they have in the computer version. This is very violent so be prepared to mett the killer which is not a very good surprise. I beat this game in a few days and there was some rocky points but I got past it and moved on. He also has very freaky and disturbing nightmares about his wife and baby getting killed and you get to play the nightmares. With Rats and Oily water was the hardest part to beet. The nightmares were hard because it is a maze. But I shoud warn you that when you are in the nightmares you can hear the wife screaming so loud and the baby crying so loud. I will give you 2 hints about the killer it is a she and she makes drugs. This game is confusing on the computer and on Ps2 the controlls are quite simple once you get use to it. Oh yeah get Grand Theft Auto 3 which most of you have already. So what are you waiting for get Max Payne at your local game store.

Max Payne sux balls! Im sik of his ass bein in my face! Ive died many times just to see him burn in hell. My names Franky rizzo and once i turned this game on I new it would suc balls more than my neighbor ed. If you buy this game you might as well use it for an object to shove up your hairy ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Plus this guy is as ugly as my left nut! Once I saw his gay penny loafers I just wanted to rip them off and shove em down his dirty throat!!!Dont buy this crappy game unless you want to slit your own throat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
