THIS GAME RULES!!! if you like action and adventure this is the game to get!!! it has eye popping graphics!!! and wicked game play!!! and it sounds sooooooo realistic its amazing!!!

Aerial Combat at Its Finest and Funnest

This game has to be one of the best aerial combat games ever. This game is an arcade, NOT a simulation. The controls are simple, and the plane moves fluidly whichever direction you wish to go. The scenery is also fairly well-done, but the graphical detail does become worse as you drop down. The air chatter is nice, but it does get annoying after the repetitive "cheerleader" comments (like "Nice shot" or something like that). Although overall is fairly excellent, there has to be a comment made about the last mission -- Megalith. If you liked Star Wars, the last mission is definitely reminiscent of the attack on the Death Star. The storyline is a bit weird and a wee bit cheesy, but overall, this game is definitely worth the money, new or used. The replay value may be a little lower than some other games like Metal Gear Solid or Gran Turismo, until you hit 2 player deathmatches in the air!

this game , even though i only seen movies and pictures of it, looks amazing very very smooth. and backgrounds are photorealistic you'd almost swear you where watching a movie if not holding a ps2 controller in your hand. i cant wait for this game. just have to wait for amazon to send it.

Outstanding graphics with a quite boring game play. Initially I was excited but then it got boring really quickly. I can't quite explain it but its just a real good shoot them up but not very good to play for a while.

This game has amazing graphics. It was a challenge to beat the game. But it was very satisfying when you got an A on any level. The multiplayer games are fun too, but they become very boring quickly. This game will take about 60 hours to beat. I don't recommend it for anyone under 8 years old. All in all this is as close to perfect as a game gets.

Ace Combat 4 is one of the best games out there. The airplanes have icredible detail and the envierment is photo-realistic. the missions are icredibly deep. And the enemy AI is very resorsfull. About the only problem is how short it is. only 18 missions. But Ace Combat 4: shaterd Skies deserves 4 stars

great game

I have played this game for 12 hrs total and only beat 7 of 16 missions. The graphics are great and Controls are very lfelike in normal mode. It has a training mode of 5 missions so it is fun for beginners too.

This is the type of game that PS is build for. The graphics are insane, the force feedback on the controller is precise and the gameplay is one of the best! This is indeed one of the BEST flight simulators that I've played. Whether is landing the aircraft on the aircraft carrier or blowing up oil fields, the attention to detail is awsome. I've had it for a week and I am addicted. This is PS2's best game since GT3.

not a Gran Tourismo 2 of the skies

The replay is very much like in GT2, the PS racing game. Very nice graphics and angles throughout. Problem is that only a few minutes of replay can be recorded. If you take too long in a difficult mission, you won't see the beginning in the replay. Engine speeds of air planes are unrealistic. All of them can eventually accelerate to a very high speed. Each takes a different time to get to maximum speed, but that's all. There is voice acting and a story in the game, but it is not related to the game! This was very annoying. As if from an alternate universe, two stories were flip flopping after every mission. The flight dynamics are nothing like what the driving dynamics are in Gran Tourismo 2. The flight feels unreal, but then there isn't a real flight simulator out there anyway. This is probably the best flight game available. It will impress you but it won't blow you away.
