This game is truley aswome! It is the best fighter simulation that I have ever played, on any platform. It features a vast array of planes and different weapons. the graphics are excellent, and it also includes a two player feature that allows both players to use their custom planes. You complete levels, earn money and then elventually purchase planes. This game is a must have for anyone that is interest in fighter planes, or if they just like to fly. The other bad thing is that if you get really close to the surface, you can make out the pixels in the surface.

Overall a great game worth the money you pay for it.

This game is the great ( I can't say it is the best because it is the first time I have played a flying game).The graphics are awesomeand the land looks perfectly real. Firing missles is the best part of the game and also chasing down other planes. The dogfights are intense while you have to stay focused on the game.
Graphics-9 Once youve played FFX graphics have to look awesome to impress you

Control-10 the control is probably my favorite part, it is nothing like Star Wars rogue Squadron2 it is 10x better
Gameplay-10 tons of missions, planes, and missles
Overall-9 Great game to rent and have fun with the multiplayer is awesome ( can't change the view in it though) With tons of planes missions and great control this game is great to rent or buy.
This is rocks the best air combat game I played so far.

... first when I played this game I didn't like it but when I got use to it like I got through the first level I love it I played this game until 2:00am in the moring...my rating of the game:

Plus the aircraft is is to control you have to get use to yet...I recommend this game to anyone...

ok listen up people this game is hot, actually not just hot, its blazin. the only reason i take 5 points away is because if you blow up a plane from close up, it looks kinda weird, it dowsnt look fuzzy or anything, its just not explody enough. and yes the ground does look weird from close up but thats the price u have to pay for great graphics, great sound that it perfect for each mission, and AWESOME planes that have perfect graphics. theirs a nice selection of graphics, and you dont have to go and land and take-off every 5 mins for running out of ammo. i love how when you shoot down a plane, it catches on fire and goes spiraling down and explodes on the ground!! GREAT GAME!!

I LOVE THIS GAME! This was the first game I got for PS2, & I haven't even wanted to return it! It has a great story line, isn't to hard or to easy, & has a huge selection of all the best planes! These planes aren't hard to control. If you think so, you shouldn't be playing video games. Top Gun has planes that are hard to control. The only reason I would give this game 4.5 stars is because it is way to short. It should be longer, in my opinion. But, since there isn't 4.5, I put 5. I know the payload (weapon capacity) is unrealistic, but hey, who would buy a game where you have 4 missles & a couple of bombs? THAT would be a hard game! I want to fly F-16's for the U.S. Air Force, so this is the perfect game for aspiring fighter pilots like me. God bless!

This game is truly excellent- it far outdoes any of the flight combat sims to date. First, the graphics and animation are right on par except for a little blurriness on the terrain when you get up close, but that's because the hardware still has some limitations. After all, when you are climbing to 10,000 feet and look out the side of your cockpit, you are seeing vast expanses of some very photorealistic terrain. Add to those graphics an exciting collection of real, existing planes (well, most of them...) secret paint schemes that you can win by shooting down enemy aces, excellent sounds including ambient speech coming to your "headset", etc., and you've got one heck of a great game! The story seems to be a blend of reminiscence of the occupation of Japan during WWII and a prediction of air combat for the future.
The only complaint I can think of though, is a pretty big one, resulting in a one-star shortage: why all the missiles? I know for a fact that current F-16's and F-15's can NOT carry upwards of 50 missiles on their bodies... that's ridiculous- and it gives you very little ammo for your guns, so any attempt to make your gaming experience more realistic is quickly batted down (because I like using the guns, but then I must fly back across to friendly territory to restock my ammo, costing quite a bit of valuable mission time). It seems unfortunate, but that's the way the Ace Combat titles have always been. I hope NAMCO fixes this minor problem when they release AC5. I'm already drooling for it!

Yes, a little ride, carrying sixty heat-seeking missiles. Odd? Quite, but when you enter a dogfight against FIFTY enemies, you'll need every missile bullet and bomb you can get. You might even have to go back to base to reload... In this arcade-style air combat game, you'll become a hero, a double, triple or... what goes after that...? Well, you'll shoot down twenty planes in your first four missions...

Graphics of terrain at low altitude could have been much better, and crashes could have been more spectacular and that's why I gave this game 4 stars....but all in all a great game that has a lot of replay value to it, controls are good on this game that are not hard to get a grasp on...recommended for a flight game fans

Ace Combat 04 is one of the best VideoGames ever invented.It's graphics are excellent the aircraft they select are wonderful.the stats for each plane is accurate even after you beat the game it's fascinating.If yo start out on very easy you go to easy it's like playing the like you didn't know what it was.It has a good mixture of bombing ships shooting aircraft and and using a Vulcan Machine Gun to strafe your enemys on the ground.it has secondary weapons to choose from like Homing Missles Incendianary Baombs it has Precision Guided Bombs and for another type of bomb it sprays fuela all over the place for a wide coverage area just like the Bobmlet despenser that a
TND-1D5 can use. What I'm trying to say is IF YOU LIKE AERIAL COMBAT GAMES THAT IS THRILING EXITING ADVENTEROUS RISK-TAKING WONDERFUL GAME THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
