Bah another spyro game. Zzzzzzzzzz..... Oh excuse me I almost dozed off at the thought of another spyro game for the PS. The game and story again is very good but with the new PS2 coming out i think the developers should have chose a different console. The game is more of a cartoonish game like Mario 64 but the playstation can no more deliver the smooth vibrant colors of a cartoon. The PS2 or Nintendo 64 would have been a better choice for this game preferably N64 because of its excellent adventure platformers.
Not a total blow to the spyro series but the game designers just spitout more games for more money when they could have taken the time to develop it better.

'Spyro: Year of the Dragon' is, in my opinion, the best of the Spyro trilogy. With new characters like Bentley the Yeti, and Sheila the Kangaroo, you can do a diverse amount of things not possible before. New characters as well as old are introduced, and it would be a shame not to play this game. You will NOT be disappointed!

Whilst,Spyro 1 was the best of all three,I think this is good.Get it right now.Try the second first. Then try this. After that you'll think this is the best.I repeat to get it now.The only time you'll turn the TV off is at mealtime, school and bed.
Talk about fun? THIS IS IT!

Not only did this new Spyro 3 have great graphics, but also awesome sports to play! My personal favorite that I have gotten to so far, would be the skateboarding. I love to skateboard in real life so on the screen it is even cooler! It was deffinitly worth the 40 bucks I spent on it! And all you parents out there... This is the winning Christmas gift of the year! BUY IT NOW! Or you are giving up a chance or a life time... To see your kids so happy on Christmas morning, your choice, but think about it!!!

If you loved the first two, then you'll love this one. Spyro year of the dragon is definitely a mix of Spyro the dragon and Ripto's Rage with an extra twist. I just wish that Insomniac would make more Spyro games. Three just isn't enough!
I love this game!

Don't be worried because this came out so soon after Spyro 2, it's wonderful! The worlds are gorgeous as always and the new characters really add variety to the game.
The difficulty level is about the same as the other games, not too easy, not too hard, so you can actually play the game instead of getting frustrated by it.
Highly recommended!!!

Insomniac has taken all the best elements of the first two Spyro games, brought them into the third, spruced them up and added a whole lot more from their bag of tricks to provide the best Spyro game to date. This time around, Spyro -- with the help of his friends from Spyro 2 -- is trying to rescue dragon eggs from an evil sorceress. (Said eggs always hatch just as he gets them, treating the player to a brief animation of a baby dragon.) The environment is more interactive, with cannons, submarines, skateboards and more to play with. And the most dramatic change from the previous two games is that in addition to playing as Spyro, the game features play as Sparx the Dragonfly (in old school videogaming action), Bentley the Yeti (who plays whack-a-gnome and boxes), Sgt. Byrd the flying commando penguin, Shiela (who has a sidescrolling platform game in addition to her high-jumping levels) and Agent 9 the crazed space monkey (whose Doom parody level has to be seen to be believed). And through it all, the animation, voice work and overall design is flat-out charmig. Easier than Spyro 1, larger and more impressive than Spyro 2, "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" is this Playstation series going out with a bang. Great fun for the whole family.

Which is how Insomniac, developers of the Spyro trilogy, feel. The first Spyro was definitely great. The second was also a good game, but didn't chnage much from the original, other than the collection of orbs and a new setting. The third is a hybrid of both-a little collecting (eggs-which, like the first with stone dragons, can simply be found, or, like the second with orbs, can be earned through different tasks), some mini games (Spyo 2 featured a few, but these are better), and of course the "save the world" element, which is true of all three. I love Spyro, but with each sequel, it seems I'm playing much the same game. I do recommend this for any Spyro fan, but don't expect any big changes, which, don't get me wrong, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

This has got to be one of the best games so far of the Spyro series! I rented it for my daughter (age 7) and she enjoyed it so much that we ended up renting it 4 times in a row as she had so much fun! I got several chances to play it and must say that it is very addicting!! Price is high and typical of all new Sony games and will probably go down ... like the first Spyro did about 6 to 9 months after Christmas. I highly recommend this game for all ages!
