Movie like story

I just finished watching a movie called "The Mothman Prophecies". It was just released on DVD this week and the similarities of Silent Hill and this movie are eerie. Supposedly, the Mothman is real, that's what makes this game more thrilling. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed?

I must admit, i didn't think much the first time i put this game into my playstation. after playing for an hour or so though, i was completely engrossed in the deep horror story of Silent Hill, since then it has become one of my favorite games

This has to be the scariest game of all time. All the times I actually watched the game I was FREAKED out. All the other times I was too scared to watch. If you are a Resident Evil fan than this is a MUST BUY.

If you are a fan of horrer games than I definitely recommend Silent Hill. This game is about a man named hary who is trying to find his doughter in a mysterous creepy town. If you really want to get that creepy feeling, then play this game at night when you are alone. It's kind of like watching a horrer movie only you are playing the main character. It's also got really scary music which is one of my favorite features. So all in all this has got to be my favorite game and I'm sure that you'll like it to.

Silent Hill is much scarier than the Resident Evil series...It is much more demonic than the resident evil series and has more conflicts.This game is by far the most scariest game i"ve ever played.It is funner to watch though (to me it is).The graphics are not good but the graphics make it scarier in a strange way.As far as the game play,it's pretty good but the game isn't meant for gameplay much.The story is ver unique and good,its about Harry trying to find his daughter and on his way a bunch of CRAZY [stuff] happens....Their is quite a bit of puzzles but there not too hard...This games so demonic and satanic its probably illegal for christians to play this game(just sayin somethin).If your lookin for something scary or demonic or anything then I reccomend playing this game.

Old school now but a different game.

I played this game right after I finished Metal Gear Solid and while I was a little let down from the switch I found the game entertaining. I played it at like 3 in the morning with the lights out and it can kinda freak you out. It is an old game now but if you liked the Resident Evil series and never got to try this one pick it up for your PS1 or PS2. Also if you are thinking about getting SH2 definately play this game cause it helps you understand the town.

Silent Hill is just one of those games that does jsut what its meant to do - scare the heck out of you! From the environments to the monsters, and especially the music and noises. I have played many so called horror-survival games and this is by far the scariest. I love a good scare,but this game takes it a step further. Playing at nightime just doubles the terror. Its great!
I recomend this game to anyone who enjoys scary games or survival horror. This game will not let you down, and when your done playing, it wont let you sleep.

This game is not for children under 13 lets just clear that up right now.I was 13 when i first played this game let me tell you i have played scary games watched scary movies and seen some scary things in my life but nothing prepared me for what i found in silent hill.It is the most supenseful game ive ever played.I bought silent hill 2 for ps2 and played and beat it it was ok i quess but nothing as compared to silent hill 1.If your looking for a game like resdent evil which is somewhat suspensful but more of a one person shooter game dont buy this one.But if your an adult that is looking for the scare of your life get this trust me.

If you own the PlayStation - you have to get this game. Awesome, the suspense and action are incredible!

I have to say, besides the original Metal Gear Solid, this game is probably one of the best I have ever played. Not just because of how scary it is, but because of how constant the scares come. The music is about the creepiest thing I have ever heard, the atmosphere and backgrounds chilled me to the bone, and the story was enough to really intrigue me. I guess what makes this game stand out from other games is that it is seriously scary. Everyone keeps saying how scary Resident Evil is, and it is kinda scary, but the scare factor is ruined by making the game an action game. Silent Hill is just pure, straight gothic horror; the good old story of small mountain town being overrun by evil with many twists thrown in. It's almost like watching a movie because of how rich the story is, and how well you get to know the characters. The only thing I would recommend is to play this game very carefully, or you will get the worst ending you have ever seen in a video game like I did the first time I played. Ugh, it was horrible. If you get the good ending though, many props to you.

All in all, this game has great music, awesome CGI cuts, sweet graphics and backgrounds, creepier than [heck] atmosphere and amazing gameplay in terms of fighting. But don't get the [bad] ending or all that you enjoyed will be flushed in an instant. Best of luck!
