I found this game really easy if you play it with a friend.I'm halfway through the game and most of the time we just normally attacked the bosses. This game is really fun.I haven't played it much as one player but it doesn't seem too hard. Most of teh game is puzzles and triggering events. You can have a pet and lots of the partners are interesting to meet.I suggest you play this game as 2 player first, then as 1 player.

I just loved this game! It's one of the best RPG games I ever played. The backgrounds were great and so were the characters. The monster raising is a good feature along with making magical instruments and weapons. The battle system is fantastic, I wish there were more RPGs that have the same battle system. Square (as always)has made a great game with great music. It's a little hard to get through the game without a strategy guide, you should get that so you won't have a hard time beating the game.

To me this game was great. I loved the way you made music instruments and each one helped to catch a strange little creature. Everything fit together like that. Until the end that is. I loved the game all the way to the very last 30 minuts of playing. The ending was cheesy to say the least because it had nothing to back it up. Yet I would still recommend this game to anyone.
A game that Shouldn't Have Mana attached

This game is OK. It has good moments and its bad moments. However, the game could have used a few more weeks in the development phase. Although it is one of the few games with multiplayer capabilities, don't let it fool you. The second player does almost nothing. The only freedom they recieve is during battle. Plus, the second player can not chage anything about their character once it is "imported" into another game. This left me and several of my friends very disapointed. The item system leaves things to be desired. Most of the items are for making weapons, which forging in its own right is mind boggling. Anyway, I would say this is a bad game it is worthy of your dollar, but just don't get supper excited. It does not live up to Seceret Of Mana. One of the best multiplayer RPG's out there in my opion.
I have heard a lot about this game being "easy." Frankly the first time through it is but if any of you still have the game go into your house and set the game on NO FUTURE MODE by use the forbidbin tome in the libary. If it wasn't for my adimante axe of 138 the boss battles can take up to an hour to fight.
Fun, but bad story.

The Seiken Densetsu series is my favorite game series of all time. Secret of Mana 2 and Secret of Mana for Super Nintendo were some of the best games ever made. Hoewver this game lacks much of the Mana lustre. In the previous games you seek the eight seeds/stones, and encounter the eight spirits, which in this game are just about non existant. Legend of Mana's world is a disapointment with it being disconnected and many places seeming to be unimportant to the entire game. Still though, the gameplay is great action/rpg style, and is very easy to pick up and get into, and the graphics are some of the best on the playstation. And there are many quests that will keep you busy for many hours. All in all a great rpg for the playstation.
This is a great game to own.

I love this game. The music is the best part of the game! The music is very moving and you get a lot of fun out of the game. Its great. You can do stuff in the game in almost any order you feel. So it doesn't have much of a story, but it all comes together in the end. The ending is worth seeing and you can start a new game right after your old one with everything you have. This is a great game to have. I think that you should buy this if you like squaresoft games. Its a great game. Full of great secrets and mini games. In other words...
Graphics-9 Music-10 Gameplay-9 Story-7
But still think about buying the game. If you like square games and if you liked Secret of Mana.
Very charming, very cool and very great game!

One of the few games that manages to be charming and cute while still retaining an undeniable coolness! its a game that feels like reading a great fairy tale, and the best thing is that the plot is non linear so you are actually taking part in the evolving fairy tales around you. The game play is pretty interesting real time 2d side scroll battling. With monster raising, item creation and world placement features. ALSO the Soundtrack is one of the best game related OSTs ever!
Excellent but too short

Why is this so short? Normally Squaresoft's games are long and thorough, but this only took roughly 16 hours to beat with all of the chapters completed. I was hoping for a long quest because I really got into the battle system and the extras like Golem raising and weapon making, but the whole game didn't focus on or give enough of things like that. The battles were also a little too easy, but all of the new concepts this brought about were too intriguing to let that that get me down. My favorite thing was playing with a friend via their imported LoM game save--that was very cool. All in all a little too short and easy but definately worth a rent(not a buy because a any RPG fan could beat this in at least 5 days, and that saves you lots of money).
Legend of Mana? More like Legend of BOREDOM

This game is beyond boring. It is a real stretch to call this game an RPG..its more like a poor adventure game. While the hand-drawn sets are outstanding, that is really where it ends for this game. The game play is tedious, the battle system is a joke and the so-called adventure quest is like Pokemon on ... There is virtually no challenge to the battles either. Enemies can easily be defeated with the old hit-and-run method. It takes awhile to figure out what you are supposed to be doing and when you do, your attitude will quickly evolve into WHO CARES? This game looks like something that would be targeted toward children, with the ridiculous looking characters, but the gameplay/storyline is far too frustrating. Please, take my advice, rent it first before you shell out the cash for your own copy.
