Final Fantasy XI is my favorite game in the FF collection on Playstation. It's easy to play, addictive and fun, interesting, and so much more! The characters you really get to know well, using all of them at different points in the game for different tasks. The Equip mode is much easier to understand and use than the one in FF8. The story is fun, dramatic, comedic, and more. The game has replay value, so you will want to play it more than once. The Chocobo Mini Game is a lot of fun to do, you'll actually want to do this one. The graphics and CG's are spectacular. I do not have one complaint about this game. It is one of the best RPG's I've played in a long time. Square once again proved with this game that they make the best RPG's. This is a must have for RPG fans.
If you don't get this, You Blow.

If You don't get this game, Your not even cool. It's the best Final Fantasy I've ever played, and is clearly making the Name Final Fantasy a lot more crediable. I think that Zidane Might be a tad bit Pervish at the beginning, and I thought Square might have been a bit Pushing that. It might not be as great as the Chrono Cross, or Trigger for that matter, But Final Fantasy IX is one of the best there is.

WOW! Square decided to go back to their roots and give us a game that has gone back to the era of FF4, 5, and 6. It was neat to see all of the old themes and types of characters resurface in this game. Things like Black Mages, Thiefs, Knights, Summoners, and the like are all present in this game, along with castles, small towns, and other medieval themes. The characters are very well developed (Vivi especially), and each have their own unique personality, along with their own abilities that only they posses. The item based learning system is sort of a confusing system, but neat in it's own kind of way. The Active Time Battle System is still used, and can be a nuisance, but makes the game more challenging. In previous entries in the series the only thing that threatened your party was a boss battle every here and there, but in FF9 even some of the random battles can be VERY CHALLENGING. The music is wonderful and a lot of the tunes are memorable as well (once again Uematsu does a GREAT JOB). The new Active Time Event allows you to see what other members of your party are doing when everyone goes their different ways throughout the game.
Pros: The series is once again set back in the medieval times, Music is great, Characters are well developed, 30+ hours of gameplay
Cons: There seems to be to many random battles (in my opinion), the story becomes very shallow at times, and ocassionally goes off on to many tangents.
Overall: Great Game! ranks up there with FF6!
Excellent Game

Final Fantasy IX is about a thief named Zidane who is out to defeat another person named Kuja, to put it short. Throughout his quest he meets many different people and goes to many different places. I have to say this game is excellent! The plot is well thought-out. Active Time Events add additional information about characters and such, which can be entertaining or helpful. Sometimes, however, these Active Time Events go far from the original story line and get confusing. The characters are well done, each with their own personalities and differences (my favorites are Vivi, Freya, Garnet, and Eiko). The graphics are mixed; in cinemas they are excellent, but they aren't too good in every other situation. The battle system is very good, and I like Trance, a special powerful state characters go into when they are attacked enough (only applies for eight main characters). The monsters and bosses can be hard to beat, but they are still pretty enjoyable anyway. The music scores are beautiful. Learning abilities is very easy; you simply equip armor, weapons, and accessories! All in all, this is a great game and a must-have for RPG fans.
My most favorite in the series....

Final Fantasy IX is my most favorite in the series. Mainly because it feels like old school Final Fantasy. The graphics, sound and control are top-notch and the gameplay is quite engaging.
If you like Final Fantasy at all, or are into RPGs, do yourself a favor and try not to miss this one.
It's awesome.

Wow, this is an AWESOME game folks. I highly reccomend it, it is fun for veterans and rookies alike. If you love the series you'll love this game. If you haven't even heard of the series, where have you been, under a rock? Even if you have, you'll love this game! Now hurry up and go buy it! This price is 5 bucks higher than stores (because of shipping), so you might want to buy it at a store.

This game was great becuase of the way it felt. I liked the way it was more mythical with characters that weren't quite human(the main guy has a monkey tail). FF8 wasn't very good because it was too serious and possible seeming, FF7 felt impossible and was less serios which provided a lot of fun.
Something I really liked about this game was it's card game, it was easy to understand after playing about ten games. The card game in the previous game was hard to understand, and even when you did get it it wasn't very much fun.
I've played almost all the Final Fantasy's and liked the slight references to old games, such as the namingway, a character in an older game which you could change your character's names with at will. I also liked finding a useless city, I loved it in the old game when you would find cities that carried no purpose at all, or maybe had an extra thing you could find. Unfortunetly it only had one of my favorite types of cities, useless.
The game takes a good 50+ if you explore a lot and it has a great look. This game is definetly worth renting at least.
They did it again

Just another in a long line of entertaining Final Fantasy games. The graphics and sound of this installment upstage those experienced in any of the previous games. Breathtaking FMV combines with a very enjoyable game to make a terrific gaming experience. A must have for anyone who enjoys the previous Final Fantasy games!
This is a really great game!
